Chapter 9

I returned to his room with a cup of coffee. I found him talking with a strange lady and immediately she noticed me, she stopped talking.

“Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you had company,” I apologized, ready to leave the room at any moment.

“Stay,” Luther ordered and returned his attention to her. “How about we talk some other time? Alright?” He told her.

She nodded in response and walked towards me with a smile on her face. “It's nice to meet you, Nova.”

“N–Nice to meet you too.”

I was confused, wondering how she got to know my name. I was feeling weirded out here because not only did they assume I was his girlfriend, but they were also nice to me. Treating me better than my previous pack despite the fact that I'm an outsider among them.

“Um…here's your coffee,” I handed it to him.

“Thanks.”

He collected it and took a sip. I wanted to leave but yet, I felt like I needed an explanation at least. People can't go around thinking that I'm his girlfriend when I'm supposed to be a captive.
