Chapter 8

I woke up and heard a loud banging on the door, I became distraught and annoyed. Who was knocking on my door so very early in the morning? I was annoyed and struggled to get up, staggering also the way back to the door.

“Who is it?” I opened the door, realizing that it was my beta —James.

I scoffed, running my hands through my hair. “You had better have a good reason for waking me up; otherwise, we're both going to have a problem,” I threatened him.

He raised his hands in surrender. “I wouldn't have come here if it wasn't an emergency, but you have to come to see for yourself,” he told me.

I sighed, hoping that it was a good cause at least. “What is it? What's going on?” I demanded to know.

“It's about Nova. She's nowhere to be found and her father is here to see you. He's been causing a scene and demanded that you show up,” he explained.

I was confused, wondering what you had to do with me. “Why is he making a scene here? Does he think I'm behind her disappearance or what?” I scowled
