Chapter 12

SEAN

It's been a day, almost a week, but rather, it seemed like there wasn't much progress, and things weren't even getting any better. I thought of what to do and decided to just get a drink to cool my nerves.

Clara– my sister, walked in and the sight of her around me only intensified my annoyance. She stared at me with a look of disappointment, pouring herself a glass of Hennessy.

I ignored her, acting like she wasn't even there and her presence didn't matter. The last thing I needed was to get infuriated by her. She started quiet, and for a while, I appreciated it, happy that she hadn't distorted it with her talks.

“You look pathetic! I don't think I've ever seen you this vulnerable before,” she commented.

I cursed my luck just when I thought that she'd end up being humble or something, but it only ended up being worse. She kept ranting and ranting until I couldn't take it anymore.
