I paused in my track as my hands balled into fists and I turned to look at Kayla slowly with a brow raised. I couldn't explain the mixed emotion that coursed through me at that very moment and if I was to put it plainly, I was at a loss for words to say.

"What?" I exclaimed while her hands flew over her mouth as Arthur shook his head before palming his forehead.

I didn't know what to do. It felt like one second, I might snap her head off her neck but the effect that her words had on me caused me to restrain myself from exploding in anger.
