Chapter 2
Celine Coleman POVAs promised, I went shopping yesterday with Alpha Kayla's driver, and I was supposed to move in with him today. I know this wasn't a good idea, but do I have a choice? I already sent some money to my brother to get an apartment over there if he wanted to really move out. I didn't want him to come over here and see the disgusting life his sister will be living henceforth.Alpha Kayla's driver, Logan picked me up minutes ago, and we were already on our way to his house."We are here, ma'am," Logan's voice pulled me back to reality, and that was when I realized that he was holding the door open for me, and I nodded my head."Thank you," I smiled at him, but as expected, he had a deep frown on his face."Follow me," He uttered after he closed the door behind me, leading me to the entrance door. The mansion was just like those I've seen in movies, and regardless of the beauty of it, I didn't have enough time to admire it because I was nervous. We finally got into the living room, and my mouth dropped open in shock at the sight that welcomed me. It felt like another planet on its own. It was everything beautiful and luxurious. I wasn't expecting less from the CEO of the biggest company in LA, anyway."The Alpha will join you shortly," Logan said to me before he left, and I sat on the couch. I didn't bother to take any of my clothes since he said that here was already stocked up with clothes for me."You are here?" I turned to find Alpha Kayla walking in, but he wasn't alone. He was wheeling someone in. A young man in his late twenties, sitting in a wheelchair."Good day, Sir," I quickly stood up to greet him, looking everywhere else except his face."You can just call me Alpha. You are welcome," His deep and cold voice sounded through my ears, and I nodded my head as I sat back on the couch. I raised my gaze a little to find the man on the couch staring at me. He had a striking resemblance with Alpha Kayla. They had the same facial outline, the only thing different were their eyes and hair. Unlike Alpha Kayla that had a pair of green eyes and brown hair, this one's were blue shady eyes and raven hair which looked natural."This is Prince Bryant, my little brother," I guess Alpha Kayla must've seen the confusion on my face."Oh," I curved my mouth, diverting my gaze to Alpha Kayla."Bryant, meet Celine Coleman, the young lady I told you about. Celine, Bryant," Alpha Kayla introduced us, but the Bryant guy stared at me with a creepy smile on his face. Slowly, the smile widened and before I could comprehend what was happening, he giggled uncontrollably, and I couldn't help but take a step back."Don't be scared. My brother is brain ill, so he can't control his laughter sometimes," It broke my heart to hear that a handsome young man like this was befallen by that horrible fate, and I couldn't help but pity him."I'm so sorry about that," I said to him, and he nodded his head."You should say hi to Celine, Bryant," I didn't imagine this man would be so gentle to someone, with the way he presented himself to me to be tough. I was expecting Bryant to say hi to me, but instead, he turned his wheelchair around and wheeled himself away, not after giving me a glance I had no idea what it meant.I was shown around by the maid and was taken to my room afterward.Being here felt weird, but the weirdest of it all was Bryant. I had no idea why I was worried about him and why I felt so bad for him.I was about to go to sleep when the knock on my door pulled my attention, and when I went to get it, my heart skipped as I was welcomed by Alpha Kayla. Many thoughts ran through my mind and I feared he would ask us to have sex immediately. I mean, that's why I was here, anyways."Let's talk," He said to me icily after he walked into my room, and I took a deep breath, closing the door gently behind us and turning to face him."I will go straight to the point. My brother's life is complicated, and as you saw earlier, he needs someone by his side. I'm always going to the office, so while you are here, you should take care of him also," He stated, and I nodded my head. I was still going to be good to him, anyway."About the reason you are here...""Uhm... Can I ask a favor, please?" I cut him off, and he stared at me blankly for a moment before he nodded his head."Can you give me some time to adapt to this place first before we get to the business I'm here for?" It was a favor I prayed hard he granted. I needed some time to at least get to know him first. I couldn't just open my legs for a stranger like that, right?"Sure," He seemed to think about it for a while before he nodded his head, tucking his hands inside his pockets."Thank you," That meant a lot to me and I couldn't help the excitement that filled my heart at his reply. I wasn't expecting him to grant me that so quickly."Treat my brother nicely. I won't hesitate to show you the ugly side of me if you hurt him," Those were his last words before he finally left my room, and I released the breath I'd been holding unknowingly, slumping on the bed afterward. My stay here is going to be a bit complicated, and I knew it.I could only get a few hours of sleep all through the night, and it was soon daytime. After I had my bath and got dressed, I left my room and by the time I got downstairs, the maid told me that Alpha Kayla was upstairs in Bryant's room."It's almost time for Prince Bryant to have breakfast. You should take it to his room," The maid who was in her late forties said to me as she handed me a tray that was filled with food."The fifth room on your right-hand side along the hallway is his room. Make sure you knock before you go inside," The maid said to me before I headed to his room.My heart was pounding hard against my chest for some reason I couldn't explain, as I walked along the hallway to his room."Why am I so nervous?" I stopped and ask myself...Chapter 3"Father, am I your brother?" I asked him as I managed to look up at him, and he scoffed, squatting in front of me."Of course, not. You are my son... My baby boy," He smiled at me disgustingly as he pat my cheek, but it irked me so much that I wanted to slap his hand off me."But you called me brother when that woman was here earlier," I pouted my lips, and he smiled at me brightly. That smile I hated the most in the world. Those set of teeth I hated the most to be spread at me."Don't think about it, son. When that lady is around, you have to call me brother, ok?" He stated, and I slowly nodded my head. I didn't need to ask him why he said that. "Be a good boy, son. Daddy will be back soon," He uttered, leaving me in the room afterward. Slowly, the wide smile on my face disappeared. How annoying acting like this around him? How disgusting having to see his face every fucking day of my life. But what could I do? This was the only way for me to live. Pretending was really th
Chapter 4Celine Coleman POVThe last few days I've spent here seemed to be the best days of my life so far. Prince Bryant although was complicated and not an accommodating person, still, I somehow felt comfortable and relaxed around him. I could count how many words he has said to me since I moved in here. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and Alpha Kayla already left for their Pack for something important as he said to me before he left, leaving me and Bryant at home. The maid already went to the grocery store to get something, so I was alone at home with Bryant."What is he doing now?" I asked myself after I checked my wristwatch, and since I was curious, I decided to go to his room and check up on him. Who knows, maybe we could go for a walk around the mansion since I was bored. I soon got to his doorstep and placed a knock on it, but got no reply from him."Excuse me. Are you inside?" I called out, and when I got the same silent reply, I finally pushed the door open and walke
Chapter 5Celine ColemanThe world seemed to be frozen for a moment when our lips made contact. Although I am not a werewolf, but trust me, I felt a strange spark and my abdomen twitched. What the heck! For the next few seconds, we remained like that, my brain was shut dead, and I couldn't think for a moment."Wh... what are you doing?" I stuttered as I managed to pull away from him, sitting on the ground and blinking my eyes at him rapidly. My heart pounded hard against my chest that I could literally hear the sound of it, my throat dried and my breath hitched. I tried to understand what just happened, but there was only one meaning to it, he fucking kissed me for the second time. At this point, I was starting to question my inner self, thinking if he was really sick or if he was just pretending."Don't be ridiculous. Why would anyone do that?" My subconscious mind scolded me and I quickly dismissed the thought. The look on his face didn't express shock, but was just blank as if what
Chapter 6Bryant ReedThe thought of her sleeping with that despicable man wouldn't stop playing in my head. I felt my wolf agitated about this too. I couldn't imagine her kissing that man when we already kissed. The thought of it was driving me nuts and I felt like screaming out my lungs. My body suddenly felt so hot, so I unbuttoned my shirt to get fresh air, but it turned out that the heat was inside me.I wheeled myself into the house and managed to get to the hallway. I stopped in front of her door and placed a knock on it. Not that I had something to tell her, maybe because I just wanted to see her.The door soon opened, and her face dilated in shock when she saw me."Br...yant?" She had this shocked expression written on her face."Can you take me for a walk? I'm bored," I asked her, and she seemed to think about it for a while before she nodded her head."Sure. Wait here for me. I need to change my dress," she said to me, and I nodded my head. She walked back into her room and
Chapter 7Celine ColemanIt was my first time seeing a werewolf enraged, and for a moment, I felt my soul leave my body back there. It felt like he was going to kill me. I never called him pathetic, did I? I mean, when did I do that? The incident kept replaying in my head even after I returned to my room. The knock on my door pulled me back to reality, and my heart skipped. I was scared of going to check who was there. I felt scared to face him again. You would feel the same way if you were in my shoes, yeah?Mustering the remaining courage left in me, I went for the door, but I was rather shocked to find Alpha Kayla standing there. He seemed to have just returned from the office."Welcome, Alpha," I greeted him politely, and he nodded his head."Come to the dining room for dinner," Those were the only words he said to me before he left, and I nodded as if he was still here with me. I left for the dining room almost immediately. My heart skipped when I got there and found Bryant with
Chapter 8Bryant ReedSpending the night with Celine was awesome, but watching her sleep was the best feeling I could ever ask for. I never liked when someone pities me, but I couldn't also blame her for being like that. No matter how much I try to act as though everything is fine, deep inside me, I knew I'm not fine.I watched her toss on the bed tiredly, turning to face me while still having her eyes closed as she slept peacefully like a baby. I scoffed once again when I saw the jeans trouser she was wearing. What was she thinking? That I was going to do shit to her while she was sleeping? I asked myself, but on second thought, I didn't blame her for taking the protective measure. It was finally my usual time of doing my morning routine, so I wheeled myself into the bathroom. I initially do go to the bathroom without my wheelchair, but I didn't want to come crawling out here like a baby later and have her sad again.Slowly, I gritted my teeth while staring at my reflection in the mi
Chapter 9Celine ColemanI've been searching through the internet nonstop since I got back to my room, hoping to find any remedy that could help with his brain and also his legs. Who knows, maybe a miracle might just happen."Ugh! This is frustrating," I cursed under my breath after surfing through the internet without any positive results, so I eventually dropped my phone."Wait a minute! Why the hell are you doing this, Celine? You are acting weird," I stopped and ask myself the question I sort myself for an answer but couldn't get any for it. "I'm a human, and I tend to be like this. I mean, I have feelings too," I concluded even though I knew deep inside me that it wasn't the case.A knock sounded on my bed and I was stunned when I pulled the door open and found Bryant at my doorstep. I blinked my eyes rapidly, staring down at him and wondering what he was doing fully dressed like someone that was about to go out."Br... Bryant?" I called surprisingly, and for a few seconds, I ch
Chapter 10Celine Coleman POVMy heart pounded in my chest as I stood in front of his room. I was so nervous about going to spend the night with him, but his brother already said to do it, and I didn't have any option."He's harmless, Celine. Don't think about anything," I wish I could be confident, but a part of me was having a bad feeling about this.I took a deep breath and finally pushed the door open to find the room empty. It was only his wheelchair in the room, so I presumed he must be in the bathroom. Well, the sound of the water splashing from the bathroom confirmed he was really in there. Just like the day before yesterday, I wore my jeans trouser and a top that covered my body so well. I wouldn't stop having different thoughts even though I just wanted to act like everything was fine.I sat on the sofa, waiting for him to come outside. My heart wouldn't stop pounding hard even though I wanted to relax. The bathroom door finally opened about ten minutes later, and I rose to
Chapter 112EpilogueAs Celine sat on the edge of the bed, staring at a picture frame of her family which had her Mom, Claire, Jake, Bryant, and herself in it, she couldn't help but smile excitedly. This was the kind of family she had always prayed for. The kind of life she had always prayed to her maker for. Being with her family and getting married to a loving man. She couldn't be more than glad that her prayers were all answered. The bathroom door opened, and Bryant wheeled himself into the room. He had a white towel wrapped around his waist and his body dripping wet. He had just showered. He paused and smiled when he saw his beautiful wife seated on the bed."Is the baby kicking you?" He asked with a sweet smile on his face, and Celine looked from the picture to him."Not really... I'm just admiring us here... We look so good together," She looked at him and smiled."Right from the day I set my eyes on you, I knew we were going to look perfect together," He uttered as he wheeled h
Chapter 111A few days laterCeline Coleman POVI stood on the balcony of Bryant's room and stared up into space. A lot has happened over the last one week since I met my mom after many years. Even though I wasn't so mad at her, I couldn't still bring myself to forgive and accept her back into my life. Not after everything we had passed through without her here. Jake met her also, but he wasn't ready to forgive her, just as I am. I spoke with Bryant about Jake over the week and he had forgiven him for everything he had done. I asked Jake to move in with us, but he said he had something to take care of before that, so I had to respect his decision."It's cold out here... You should go back inside," I heard Bryant's voice, and I turned to find him seated in his wheelchair. He was wearing pajamas, probably ready to go to bed. "Hmm... Just getting fresh air. Will go back inside soon," I replied to him, and he wheeled himself to me. "Babe..." He held my hand and squeezed it gently."I w
Chapter 110Celine ColemanToo many thoughts paraded my mind as the cab I boarded drove down the road, heading to Claire's apartment. I knew something was wrong somewhere because she didn't sound fine, but I could only find out about it if I went to her house, yeah? As much as I wanted to stay calm, my curiosity was eating me up every damn second and I ended up being tensed. It felt like the drive was slow even though it wasn't. I was desperate to get home early and meet her Mom. I was desperate to see her and finally know who she was."Can you drive faster, please?" I urged the driver when he slowed down the cab."There is a heavy traffic jam ahead," He replied to me, and I couldn't help but feel frustrated. Not today, please."Calm down, Celine. She's not running away. You will meet her even if you go there late," My subconscious mind reminded me, but it was just difficult to listen. We ended up spending fifteen minutes in the traffic jam before we were able to get out of it. The re
Chapter 109Celine Coleman POVIt was finally morning and the day Claire had told me her Mom would be back. The aroma coming from the kitchen welcomed me as I descended the staircase after I left my room. My mouth salivated and my stomach grumbled hungrily, so I left for the kitchen."You are awake? I didn't want to wake you up. Good morning. Did you sleep well?" She looked at me and smiled."Good morning. Yes, I did. What about you?" I pulled the refrigerator open and brought out a bottle of water."I did," She replied to me."What are you making?" I asked as I uncapped the bottle and drank some water from it."Breakfast. It's a surprise. Trust the process," She winked at me, and I smiled."So, have you called your mom yet? What time is she coming back?" I asked curiously after I put back the bottle inside the refrigerator."Are you so desperate to move out?" She asked sadly, but I shook my head."Far from that... I'm just concerned," I shrugged, leaning against the counter."I was j
Chapter 108Celine Coleman POV"Are you feeling sick? Do you need to go to the hospital?" I asked Claire after I pulled the car over at the parking lot in her apartment, but she slowly shook her head. We were supposed to go for a walk after work, but she was so dull that we only did it briefly and she asked us to come home instead. She couldn't even drive, so I had to do it myself."I'm fine. I just need to get some rest, and I'll be fine then," She replied to me as she removed her seatbelt, pushed the door open, and stepped out of the car. I did the same and alighted from the car too.I watched as she dragged herself toward the entrance, and by the time I got to the living room after she walked inside, I found her already seated on the couch. She looked like she had worked her ass off all day and was going to die anytime soon."Do you need anything? Should I get you a glass of water?" I went to sit beside her on the couch and held her hand."No," She replied to me, and I briefly sigh
Chapter 107Celine Coleman POV'I don't think I'm ready to be a father... I'm scared, Celine. I don't know if I'll be able to' Those words replayed in my head for the umpteenth time as I sat behind my desk in my office. I have been trying to concentrate all day since I came to the office, but my head has been messed up and I haven't been able to think straight. A part of me was disappointed when he said that, but another part of me tried to understand him. "It's not something to be mad about, Celine. You can help him overcome it," I said to myself and breathed in and out before I resumed work. The office telephone started to ring and I picked it up."Hello! This is...""Come to my office, Ms. Celine," Claire said from the other end, and the call disconnected immediately.I dropped the phone, stood up, and proceeded to her office to hear her out."You asked to see me, ma'am," I said to her politely, and she rolled her eyes."I told you to drop the formality. You can talk to me casuall
Chapter 106Celine Coleman POVI rubbed my stomach gently, unable to hold back my smile as the cabby drove down the road. It was still hard to believe that I was pregnant. The thought of it made me feel like I was on top of the world. It just felt so good."We are here, ma'am," The cabby's voice pulled me back to reality, and that was when the realization dawned on me that he was already parked in front of Bryant's house."Thank you," I muttered as I pushed the car door open and stepped out of the car. I paid him and he zoomed off.As I stood in front of the house, I held my handbag tightly and bit my bottom lip. A part of me was eager to tell Bryant about the good news, but another part of me wanted me to wait. Bryant would ask me to move in immediately if he found out about the pregnancy now, and I still needed three days to do my confirmation before I leave Claire's house."Just three days... Just three days, and you'll tell him. You have to keep it for now," I said to myself and t
Chapter 105Celine Coleman POV'The doctor will be with you shortly. He is busy' One of the nurses had said to me earlier when I just arrived at the hospital, and here I was for the past thirty minutes, still waiting for the doctor. I was almost losing it, but I tried to understand the nature of their job and be patient. Maybe there were too many patients to attend to today.I touched my forehead for the umpteenth time and winced silently as waves of pain spurred through me. What could've caused this overnight? I asked myself, but there wasn't any answer I could provide for it, so I had to wait for the doctor. My phone started to ring, and Bryant's name was displayed on the screen. I swiped the answer button."Hey, babe," His calm, deep, yet soothing voice came through the phone, and I smiled."Hey,""I'm sorry I'm just calling you now. I woke up quite late. Did you sleep well?""It's fine, I understand. And yes, I slept well," I replied to him."Are you coming over today?" He asked."
Chapter 104Celine Coleman POV"Are you seeing someone?" Claire said out of the blue moon, and I choked on my food and started coughing."Why are you choking? I only asked a question," She clicked her tongue as she handed me a glass of water, and I drank from it."How did you know that?" I looked at her and asked, but her face beamed with smiles instead."Are you really seeing someone? Who is he? Is he cute? I like cute guys, so, is he cute?" She bombarded me with questions as she looked at me, desperate for answers."Ugh! You are so..." I paused and shook my head, not knowing what to say."Come on, tell me everything. Who is he?" She asked me, and I rolled my eyes. "He's just a random guy... Yeah, just someone I met some time ago," I replied to her, and she raised her eyebrows. I felt guilty for lying to her, but I couldn't just start telling her everything when I didn't even know what they were after, right?"Has it been long since you two have been together?" She asked again, and
