Marsai’s POV

I watched the clock as it struck twelve. It was time. I looked down at the dress in my hands, and my heart shattered. I wished I had someone that would shield me away from all of this. My father was not a good person. He was the leader of the mafia in the pack that terrorized the Crest Moon pack’s citizens.

Alpha Alex had tried multiple times to drive him and his people away, but he was stuck. It was after his death that I was discovered. Everyone hated me because of his actions and when they found out that I didn’t have a wolf, all hell broke loose.

I was taken to the Alpha’s palace as a servant to be the punching bag for him and his family.

“Marsai, don’t tell me you haven’t gotten ready.” I heard Blair’s voice say at the other side of the door to my room.

My heart rate increased. If she came in to find me like this, then I would be lucky to escape with just a few bruises.

“I… I am almost done. Just doing the last touches.” I wiped my face, then stood up to my feet.

I quickly removed my old and tattered clothes, then slipped into the dress she gave me. I hated it. There was a broken mirror in my room which I found in the garbage.

It was concealed behind my curtains because I was scared of what Blair and Alpha Alex would do when they found it. I headed towards my curtains and opened them up, then stared at my reflection. I cringed.

The dress was a silk black dress with a one-hand sleeve. It wrapped around my tiny frame perfectly. If I bowed my body even a bit, I was going to be flashing my genitals.

That made me cringe harder. I didn’t have underwear, because I have outgrown them and the Alpha would rather tear his money than use them to buy underwear for me. I sighed before I brought my fingers up to my face and caressed my cheekbones.

I hated the way I looked. My face was sunken, and my natural blonde hair was dry and dirty. My big blue eyes looked dead and tired. My body had shrunken, and I barely had flesh except in some parts of my body, as a result of puberty.

My body was filled with scars too. They cleared most of the time, which didn’t matter because I would have fresh injuries once again. My face didn’t have scars though.

I did my best to cover it whenever I was beaten. But my hands, shoulders, back, legs, and stomach were filled with the most scars I have ever seen on anyone. After I was done, I took a glance back at my room.

Wherever I was going, I only wished that it wasn’t a place that would be worse than this. I crossed my fingers and prayed before I headed outside. I knew Blair was waiting there, and didn’t want to come in the room because she accused it of stinking, which I knew wasn't true.

I cleaned my room and made sure I observed my personal hygiene virtually every day. When she noticed me, she stared at me before she shook her head.

“Even revealing your body this way can’t save you,” she scoffed, shaking her head slightly. “You just manage to look so freaking ugly every freaking time, Marsai. It is starting to become your damn personality.”

I didn’t say a word. It was going to be my last day here anyways. I wouldn’t have to tolerate seeing her or her dad ever again, if I was bought. I didn’t know if I felt better about that or not because I didn’t know the fate I was going to meet in my new pack.

I didn’t know if they were worse than Blair, her father, and the entire pack in general. I didn’t know how they were going to react when they found out that I didn’t have a wolf, and if they were going to hurt me because of it.

When Blair was done eying me, she turned around and started to walk towards the main house. I stalked behind her like a lost puppy, feeling weird because of the clothes I was wearing. I felt exposed.

She was headed to the pack court which was adjoined to the palace. When we got there, she signaled for me to head to the back so I came out through the backstage. I threaded there quietly so I didn’t catch the attention of any Alpha.

The pack court reeked of money and power. There was alcohol being served, and all of them laughed away as they discussed in their various groups. It was crazy how many Alphas had attended to buy me. There were a lot of them, and I hoped even one of them had an interest in me.

I hoped it was a good person too.

When I got backstage, I found Alpha Alex speaking to someone, and I froze. When he noticed me, a smile formed on his lips and for some reason, it scared me.

He wouldn’t smile if he knew it was going to be in my favor—and I would be sold to an Alpha that was going to give me a safe space in his pack.

“Marsai, come on.” He gestured for me to come towards him.

With a heavy heart and clammy hands, I dragged my feet toward him.

“Kane, this is Omega Marsai. She is going to be on display today for the Alphas. With the money, I would use it to invest in the brothel I told you I was going to open.” He said to the young man standing beside him who was staring at me intently.

His eyes didn’t hold lust in them. He looked like he was intrigued by me, and my best guess was that it had everything to do with the scars on my body.

“That is good,” he replied to Alpha Alex. “I am sure she will sell.”

“I hope so. We have one special guest tonight. He doesn’t like to lose, and I know for sure that if he found her even slightly attractive, he was going to buy her and add her to his pleasure squad.”

My breath hitched. The world stopped revolving. My heart stopped. I knew who that was. Suddenly, I felt overwhelmed with fear and dread. I felt sick.

Alpha Asher Volkov.

He was well known to be the most horrible and nasty lycan king in our time. He was known to kill people, and derived pleasure from it. His life story was the story narrated to us as a horror story.

We were also told that he kept a pleasure squad for himself. A group of women that stayed with him that satisfied him sexually. It was said that he kept the prettiest women in his pack for himself and if they dared to go against his orders, he exiled them and sometimes, even killed them.

Alpha Asher was a freaking monster. It made sense why Alpha Alex was smiling when he invited me over. He knew that I was going to be sent to a place that was going to be worse than this pack.

My legs wanted to give up. I felt tears sting my eyes. I didn’t want to stay. I needed to run away, even if I was going to die in the process. I didn’t want to be anyone’s prostitute.

“Good day, Alphas. Welcome to this year’s annual Omega auction. We present to you every year, one of our Omegas to you at a giveaway price. As normal, we are going to give her away to whoever bids the highest. I present to you today, Omega Marsai.” The pack’s Beta blared through the speakers in the four walls of the hall.

“Come on,” Alpha Alex took my hand and pushed me towards the stage.

I nearly fell as I came in sight of all the Alphas in the room. My chest was beating a million times per second, and my legs were two seconds away from giving up on me.

The spotlight blinded me. I wasn’t hearing a word. I was panicking. The Beta started with the bid.

“Omega Marsai, going at 950 dollars…”

Marsai's POV I twisted my body on the bed countless times as my eyes opened slowly. It was as if a heavy load had been relieved from my head.Stretching my arms out with my eyes wide open, the rays from the sun struck my face and I trembled. The scent of the house hit my nostrils and I could inhale a tiny bit of dust. Roaming my eyes around the place, I noticed something strange."How did I find myself here?" I asked no one in particular. The surroundings of the house looked deserted and the house was looking strange with its tiny windows.I tried recalling things but I could not. The last thing I was able to remember was a wolf staring at me.I jolted immediately from the bed and checked every part of my body looking for scars and deep cuts but I couldn't find any. I was very sure that I got an injury somewhere. How did it miraculously disappear?"You are awake," a thick voice called out and I took some steps backwards. A tall looking man was standing in front of me holding a tray."

Marsai’s POV I fidgeted nervously in my seat, as I had never driven on a plane before, I tried comporting myself by staring straight ahead at the view outside the plane window. The only sound that could be heard between myself and Asher was the low hum of airplane engines. I stole a quick glance at him from beneath my dark lashes, wondering if he was still mad at me. Asher didn't seem bothered by anything, as he leaned his head against the seat with his eyes closed. He looked like any other bored passenger flying to their destination—calm and composed while waiting for takeoff. Despite the fact that he demanded for me, we have never been in such an enclosed space together before this moment - not since things changed between them after last week's mission when they were thrown into chaos without backup. The air was thick with tension between us, we were opposites who nevertheless shared a bond forged through firefights and danger.I struggled to find something--anything--to say t

As I stood in the dimly lit dungeon, it felt like an eternity had passed since Sebastian was taken away. The heavy silence weighed on my chest and all I could hear was my own footsteps as I paced around nervously. Anxiety gripped me with each passing moment and thoughts raced through my head. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of cruel punishment he must be enduring at this very minute. Was he hurt? Scared? All alone, wondering if anyone would come to his rescue? A wave of guilt washed over me as well, knowing that our connection had led him straight into danger's path. It was not the first time either; trouble seemed to follow me wherever I am and it would greatly affect people that I got involved with. The warrior who had been pursuing us served as proof of that fact - now captured by those same pursuers whose wrath we'd feared so much. All these thoughts swirled within me leaving only one question left unanswered- how long can any man last here before breaking entirely? As I

As soon as he saw me, his anger was evident on his face. His brows furrowed together while his eyes reflected irritation and fury all at once. "What are you wearing?" He growled loudly at me. "House clothing," I replied timidly while staring back into his fiery gaze. Alpha Asher took a few steps closer to me with heavy footsteps that resounded throughout the quiet apartment we were staying in, then pointed an accusatory finger directly into my face. "You can't wear those rags to school! What do you think this is? Some kind of game?" His gaze immediately fell on me. His eyes flashed with anger and irritation as he surveyed my outfit. "What do you think you're doing?" he growled at me, his facial expression reflecting his frustration. “How can you wear such to school?” "I'm just going to school, I feel comfortable in this cloth," I replied timidly, hoping to avoid a confrontation. But Alpha Asher wasn't having any of it. "You can't go out looking like that!" he snapped back at me.

I didn't know what fate had in store for us, after this. Then I noticed that the ghosts looked as if something was communicating to them, then they looked back at us."You failed the task, but you have been graced. You will leave now and will be transported back to your destination." The first ghost said, then snapped his finger and in the blink of an eye, we were at the Benitoite forest."Thank goodness. We made it!" Alfred raised his hand for a high five, which we did. Then we began to walk around the forest, trying to search for the gem."It's really hard to find the gem. It is so rare and I guess that is the reason most people are after it.""Of course. These gems generates a huge amount of money for those in possession of it. They know very well that people covet it, so it is sold at a high price." Alfred said as he continued to search around the forest."I think we need to take a break. I'm kind of feeling tired.

ALPHA ASHER'S POV"Who are you?" I asked out of curiosity."I am a seer." She replied, with no emotions on her face."A seer? Really?" It was good news as she was a seer, because I would be able to get an answer to the burning questions I had right now. "I have a question to ask, please answer my question for the sake of the time that we have spent together." I pleaded, earnestly and this I did, because of Marsai and because she was a seer that wasn't under me."Alright, go on.""Someone I love was abducted a few days ago and I need to know if she is still alive." I asked, hoping she was still alive. Then her eyes turned white and she went silent for a while. I had to wait for a while until her eyes turned back to normal."I saw that someone you love is still alive, but there is trouble looming around."
