I didn't know how badly the effects of what happened between me and Soren were. While I was recuperating, I often overheard Primo and Niccolo talk about the Bratva and Cosa Nostra. I woke up to the faint smell of smoke and dust. When I opened my eyes, I saw Marina lying on the floor. I quickly got up but realized that my leg was injured. It was painful to move and I could see that a small metal bit had managed to get lodged in my leg. I didn't try to remove it in fear of dying from blood loss.
