Back at Yates Manor, Betty noticed Caroline staring at her food without eating.

She couldn't resist trying to persuade her. "Carrie, you haven't eaten all day. You should eat something. I'm afraid it will be too much for your body to handle."

Caroline shook her head. "I don't have the appetite, Mom. I'll eat my food when Mr. Y comes home safe and sound."

Betty still wanted to convince her to eat, but Marietta grabbed her hand. "All right, your mother and I will wait with you."

After saying that, Marietta put her cutlery down next to her plate. Betty followed suit.

Seeing this, Caroline quickly said, "Aunt Mary, Mom, I'm a young woman. I can handle skipping a few meals, but you—"

"We don't have the appetite anyway, so we might as well wait with you."

As Betty finished talking, the butler excitedly ran into the dining room. "Madam! Mr. Ki—it's Mr. Y! Mr. Y is back!"

When Caroline heard him, she set her cutlery down and ran out of the dining room, almost tripping several times.
