Chapter 607

Soon, Caroline and Kirk went home loaded down with groceries. It was lucky that Kirk had been there. It meant that Caroline didn't need to carry anything at all. Even her phone was in Kirk's protection.

"I'm going to prepare the ingredients. You go back to sleep."

"Alright." Kirk nodded and went back to the bedroom.

Caroline assumed that he was too tired and didn't think too much about it.

Once he went into the room, she started working.

Inside the bedroom, Kirk didn't go back to sleep. He took out his phone and dialed Marietta's number from memory.

Right then, Marietta was still asleep. When she heard her phone ringing, her first reaction was to get mad.

But then, she remembered that it might be Caroline calling and immediately became alert as she jumped out of the covers.

She found that an unfamiliar number was calling her.

Marietta's displeasure at being woken up exploded.

"Who is this?"

"Me." Kirk's voice was very low and very recognizable.

"Matthew?"

Marietta was
