Mr. Sherman hurriedly said, "Since he's your friend, we'll take him in. I'll get the obstetrics and gynecology department to get him registered right away."

Caroline nodded slightly, then looked at Desmond again. "You'd better not pull any tricks on me."

Desmond smiled wryly. "I willingly helped your father forge accounts for the sake of having children. After handing over these ledgers, I don't even care if I end up in jail again."

Caroline thought someone like him was pitiful. He had taken the risk and gone against the law just to have a child of his own. She actually couldn't understand his feelings.

Half an hour later, Desmond's wife, Ivy Baker, brought Evans Group's real ledgers to the hospital gate.

When she learned that Victoria Hospital had accepted to help them, she was so happy that she hugged Desmond. The two cried tears of joy.

However, when Ivy learned she had to give Caroline the real ledgers, she hesitated.
