Chapter 1220

Cheryl knew Gwen was speaking out of anger, so she didn't say much about it. Instead, she said, "Let's not talk about the Hacketts now. We should go in to see Caroline."

"Yeah, you're right. You finally managed to get out, so we won't talk about that accursed family anymore. Let's ask Caroline if she wants to eat anything."

They returned to the ward as they talked. Their hearts clenched again when they saw Caroline lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

"Carol, you must be hungry after being unconscious for days. What do you want to eat? I'll buy it for you," Gwen softly asked as she walked to the bed.

Caroline was still staring at the ceiling. She didn't seem to have heard Gwen's question.

Cheryl and Gwen looked at each other anxiously. Just as they were about to panic, Caroline replied, "I'm not hungry."

Gwen was overjoyed to hear Caroline speak. Then, she persuaded, "That won't do. You haven't eaten for days. Why don't I go out and buy something you like?"
