Cheryl proceeded to tell her everything in detail.

After listening to her explanation, Caroline exclaimed, "So, you're really the lost daughter of the Hackett family!"

"Yes," Cheryl responded with a wry smile. "Caroline, don't you find it interesting?"

Caroline held Cheryl's hand. For some reason, she understood how the latter was feeling at that moment.
