Adam

Kyle wondered why the sudden change of Plans. I had to tell him about the new development, and he was disgusted about it. What my father was doing was wrong. Before everything had gone to hell, wolves were allowed to choose their mate, and it was still that way. The only thing that could cause controversy was if the mate wasn't a wolf. My father's madness and fear had made him interfere with my life. He simply did not want a Moon to be a luna, and he wanted that at all costs. He was also worried that Beta Green might work against him. Binding Lola to me was a way of appeasing his Beta and keeping him loyal. He wanted to secure himself at the cost of my happiness. By making himself a Monarch, he wouldn't have to step down. Naturally, I should take over as Alpha now because I was of age and I was stronger than him, but because he had made himself a King, even if I became Alpha, I would still answer to him. He had warped our society, and leaving was the best way to solve the issue.

Adam I was shocked at my father's question, and I could not answer for a while. Desiree was right. My father would not let the moons go because he needed the numbers. He wanted to be served, and he wanted to be king. "It is best you let them go," I told my father, and then he looked at me. "Whose side are you on, Adam? If I let the Moons go, who will serve us? Your bitch might leave too," he said, and I smiled. "You did say you will behead her if she doesn't get pregnant. Sending her away would be better." I pointed out, and he got angry. "Never! I cannot allow a moon alpha to roam freely. We have preserved these lands with science to the best of our ability. I cannot allow them to take over our hard work." He said and went to sit on his chair. He was really mad. "May I speak freely, father?" I asked him, and he nodded. "The land was in best condition when their Alpha was running it. They did not need our help or our science. Attacking them and killing their Alpha is why their l

Adam I roamed through the halls and cells looking for Desiree, but I couldn't find her. I wondered where my father had her placed, and I began to panic. The fear in my heart was almost unbearable. I had never been this afraid before. I searched every nook and cranny in the moon dungeon but couldn't find her. It was midnight now, so I returned to my father's chamber. I entered unannounced, and I hadn't hated him as much as I did at that moment. My entrance must have alerted him because he woke up. "Father, please let her go," I pleaded with my father. He was still trying to wake up his senses, so he did not respond until seconds later. "Can't you see I am trying to sleep, Adam?" he said to me. "Please, father, let her go. I am begging you," I pleaded with him, and he shook his head. "I thought you were off to rescue her?" he asked, and I looked away because he was taunting me. "We both know she is not in this building; I can't feel her. I can't link with her. I have checked every

Adam. My father and I returned to his room together, and he offered me a drink. Something he hadn't done in over two years because I was counting. This whole king thing had gotten into his head so much, that he had forgotten how to be a father and an Alpha. From his behaviour, I realised that my guess was correct and he was madly in love with Margret. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't have her because of his laws and the things he had done to make sure his laws were upheld. It was sickening. The woman didn't love him though, but they seemed like second-chance mates to each other. The moon goddess knew how to put the joke on her children, especially those that chose to tow a dangerous line like my father. He offered me a seat and took a sip of his drink. "I will have her released, just don't hurt Maggie," he said with red, teary eyes. "You are unbelievable, father," I said, and he pinched the bridge of his nose and bowed his head in shame. "How did you know?" he finally asked me.

Desiree I couldn't believe everything that had happened to me. One minute I was about to go to bed, and the next minute, enforcers barged into my apartment and arrested me. I thought they would take me to the dungeon, but they didn't. They took me to somewhere that looked like a secret prison outside the packhouse. I honestly wanted to shift and teach them a lesson, but Ashria had warned me about it. She claimed it was a necessary event. I honestly wanted to do a lot of things, but she insisted we stand down, and I had no choice but to obey. Honestly, it sucked. Everyone had a newborn wolf, but I had to be stuck with an ancient soul that seemed more like a parent than a part of me. It sucked being controlled by your wolf, but she was yet to lead me astray, and she had proven her wisdom and strength to me. After a few hours, they returned me to my apartment with the utmost care, and I realised there wasn't any need to fight, but I was afraid. Twice someone had barged into my apartmen

Desiree The packhouse was busy, and they were preparing for something. Tim and I were about to make our way to the royal quarters when Lola and her friend accosted us. Nickson was also there, but he wasn't looking at me with hostility, if anything, he had respect for me, and I wondered where it was coming from. "Hello, Moon Bitch!" Lola said to me, and people around gasped. I smiled at her because I knew she was hurting. "You haven't won yet. You are just a piece of cunt that Adam is having fun with in the meantime. Once he is done with you, he would throw you away like the piece of trash that you are and settle for me because I am the best he can get amongst the bloods," she said with a smile, and I started to think Lola might be suffering from some mental illness of some sort. "Well, good for you," I said with a smile. Ashria had taught me, and I had learned fast. I tried to move away, but she obstructed my way and pushed me. "Hey!" Nickson yelled at her, and her eyes widened wi

Desiree Adam moved closer, thinking it was reflexes, but I moved again and got up so he could see me. I wanted to tease him, get him all worked up and then turn him down. Make him beg for it. I looked at his shorts, and There the erection was staring at me. "Desiree..." he said, groaning, and I maintained a straight face. I wanted to keep him guessing. "What am I to you, Adam?" I asked him, and he bowed his head. I could feel his frustration and fatigue. "You are my mate," he replied. "I feel more like a mistress and a breeder like everyone says," I lied, just to get to him. He looked up at me with concern in his eyes. He also looked hurt and confused. I bet he was wondering where all of it was coming from. "Who hurt you today?" he asked, ready to deal with whoever it was. I could tell him it was Lola and her mother, but they had entertained me instead. Although I did not appreciate the slap and I wished I could retaliate. I knew dragging the matter would not end well for me beca

Desiree I woke up sore in the morning. Adam had a smirk on his face, which indicated he knew exactly what he did. The instant I entered the shower, he followed me and grabbed me. "How are you doing this morning, Desiree?" He asked, and I gave him a half-smile because I knew he was taunting me. He pulled me to his chest and kissed the top of my head. "I loved the fact you made me beg for it," he said and held me tighter. "Try to hold out a little longer next time," he said, and I playfully pushed him away, and we both began to laugh. We made love and showered together in the bathroom. I am sure the bloods that brought the breakfast heard us, but I didn't care. In fact, I hoped Lola's spies would relay the news to her. We ate our breakfast in a hurry, and they brought Adam's clothes for the party. Nothing was brought for me, so I figured I wasn't invited. I never felt horrible about my relationship with Adam until that moment. I didn't want to put him on the spot, so I did not bother

  • Blood and Moon   45 Completing the Bond

Adam We were merry all afternoon into the evening. Moons joined us, and Bloods were quick to mingle with them. The only people who were stuck up were the people in my father's generation. No one cared because they were a dying breed anyway. I learned that the ash in the moon territory had miraculously cleared overnight. I had asked them to keep the information from my father so that the moons wouldn't be asked to leave their homes. I was not going to keep it from him for long, just long enough for him to hand over the authority to me and officially step down, then I could act on the information. Desiree looked stunning in the coral blue dress I had selected for her. I knew she thought she wasn't invited, and I wanted to surprise her by allowing her to think like that. When they arrived, the sight of her took my breath away. She looked amazing. I noticed a lot of people drooling at her, and I was proud. My father even commended me and told me that I had an eye for beauty, but I knew d

Desiree "You are a traitor, Micheal!" I said to the gamma, and he bowed his head in shame. "Your silence would have cost us our country and our peace. It would have caused war, and innocent people would have died. You do not have the right to bear your old title," I said, and he kept his head down. "This is my judgement," Adam said, and Lola and Lana looked at him with fear. They looked in my eyes, pleading with me to intervene. For some strange reason, they rather I judged them than Adam, and I was about to find out why. "The punishment for treason is beheading. Many moons were beheaded with the guillotine. It is only fair Lana and Lola are treated the same. As for Gamma Micheal, I will cast you out. You will be packless and Clanless," Adam said, and immediately the three of them began to beg. Donovan approached Adam and knelt to beg for his father. "Please, he is all I have left. Please," he pleaded, but Adam would not budge. Kristoff wanted them dead. I knew why. Their actions

Desiree "You know why you are here?" I asked Lana loudly for all to hear, and she looked up at me with the most respect her proud ego could manage. "Because we disrespected you and called you a whore," she said, trying to make me look petty. I smiled at her and tried to speak, but Adam placed his palm on my hand to stop me. I looked and him, confused, and he smiled at me, so I relaxed and let him take over. "You have been punished for that already. You are here for two things. Lola, You are here to stand trial for poisoning my food with silver," He said, and everyone gasped, even me. I remembered the incident as if it were yesterday. I was vulnerable, and the conniving bitch had beat me and handed me to the enforcers. I would have died if Adam did not pull through. Adam had promised me to catch the culprit, but after a long time had passed and nothing happened, I thought he was not successful and had decided to let it go. I did not expect this. He was a man of his word. "Alpha,

Desiree. Adam held me in the shower and wept. "I am sorry, Desiree," he said. I knew Adam could remember what happened. I tried to ease his pain, but he was hard on himself. "I wanted to kill you and our baby," he accused himself, "I was hungry for blood and magic, and I couldn't control it," he said, and I held him. I pulled him out of the shower. Although he was Alpha, he was allowed to be vulnerable in my arms. So I dried his body and mine, led him to the bed and held him the best way I could while he wept. I knew I couldn't stop him from blaming himself, so I just held him. "You did what you had to do to save us, Adam. Don't blame yourself. Blame that witch, Maria, for trying to destroy our utopia." I told him, and he did not let up. "I wanted your blood, Desiree, and your magic," he argued, and I squeezed him tighter. "You have to let it go. I am here, and I am still pregnant. We needed Haimon at that moment, and you came through for us. Please let it go, Adam." I said, and

Desiree I felt the pull. Something was pulling at my life force and magic. It was taking the magic I had managed to store up. "What is happening?" I asked Ashria. "Kristoff is draining us. He is bloodthirsty now. We might have to kill him if we must survive this," Ashria said, struggling with the pull. "You are killing me, Adam!" I yelled at him, but he was fixated on me and advanced toward me. I saw a dark smoke circle Maria's firewall. "That is Haimon's magic. He is making sure she does not escape," Ashria tried to tell me, and Kristoff advanced toward us. "Please, Adam. I do not want to fight you!' I pleaded with him, but he wouldn't listen. He was drooling and growling. He did not care, he felt nothing, and I knew it because his mark burned. "I am your mate!" I told him. "We have no mate and no love but for blood and magic, and yours feels delicious!" he replied, and my eyes widened. I sent sun magic his way, and he dodged it. I was exhausted, but I had to fight to get away

Adam The blood warriors aimed and fired at the witches. They got two out of three eventually. As soon as they got the last one and we thought it was only Maria that remained, a multitude of witches arrived, trying to get into our country, so Kyle and the others had to face them while I tried to figure out how to save my mate. I prayed to the moon goddess for help because I knew I would not have the will to fight if I lost my mate and unborn child. It would be too much of a loss to bear. I had never felt so useless in my life. They were up there, and I couldn't get to them. I had no magic to fight with. "Use one of the dead witch's blood," Kristoff said, making a strange suggestion, and I did not know what he was thinking, but I went for it. The witch I was attracted to was not dead but was on her way. The moment my wolf touched her, I felt her magic and blood drain into me, and I suddenly felt like I did when I pulled on Desiree's magic, only that this was my magic. I felt the life

AdamI felt magic coursing through my veins, but it was strange, it was dark, and it wasn't the same as the one I usually tapped from Desiree. Kyle and some warriors had armed themselves with weapons, and they did not shift. To my surprise, the weapons were working well without the sun. I should have listened to Desiree and my father and not let the witches in. even though some of them were fighting on our side, a majority of them were against us. This could have been avoided. Raymond had warned us, but we didn't listen. I was too busy to look into it. Mariah was nowhere to be found. Desiree had ripped Zach's head off and was killing the treacherous witches, but I couldn't help but fear the danger it would pose. Desiree was exhausted from powering those weapons. I knew she wouldn't last on this battlefield, and somehow I felt this was just the preliminaries. We were almost through killing all the treacherous witches, but deep down I knew this was just the beginning. I felt something d

Desiree. I didn't want to do much that day either. Spending time with Adam was rare, lately. So I opted to power the weapons in the moon dungeon. It wasn't going to take time since I could power them at once. "So, where are we going?"Adam asked me, and I smiled. "I asked some wolves to hide unpowered weapons in the moon dungeon," I told him, and he frowned at me. "Why?" he asked. "So I could power them with mixed celestial magic. These weapons would work both day and night and would be powered by both the sun and moon. But they might not work during an eclipse or blood moon, but will function well if the sun or moon is covered by ash," I said quickly, and he smiled at me. "I guess you have been very busy, Luna," he said, and I nodded. I did not trust the witches, and I didn't want to be caught off guard. We hurried, and Adam waited for me outside the big room in the dungeon that I had turned into a storage. The weapons were small compared to the ones I powered initially. They wer

  • Blood and Moon   77 Moments

Desiree I waited for Adam to return, so I could tell him what I had learned. I wasn't comfortable letting them go because of the vision I had. I figured Adam would release the Greens eventually. He had humoured me for four days already, and I couldn't keep them locked up because they called me a whore, even though the consequences would have been worse for a moon when Dean was in charge. As much as I wanted to visit the same level of unkindness on them, I knew Adam's law did not allow it, but treason was something else. We just had to wait and see. Adam returned very tired in the night. He was yet to make the decree on every wolf training for battle, and he was yet to announce the pregnancy. He would be the first blood to be expecting a child in almost ten years. It was a huge blessing, and it gave hope. I found out that the king had deliberately isolated him for that purpose, and bloods had kept their children out of the ash for that purpose. The only reason we were lucky was that t

  • Blood and Moon   76 Discoveries

Desiree Joleen and her friends were very diligent at the task I had given them. Three days had passed since then, and I had been studying a lot, trying to master the magic mixing techniques. I wanted to use the mixed magic to power the stocked weapons, so I trained hard and studied hard. Most of the time, I would return to the apartment exhausted and fall asleep, never knowing when Adam was around. We tried to see each other in the morning, and he had begged me to consider freeing the Greens, but I refused. I wanted them in that cell for now. They needed to be tamed, something Alfred was unable to do. By now, the entire clan had known that they had been locked up, and their connections to the king could not help them. I wanted them to be scapegoats. While reading the books that describe Ashria's abilities and magic, I happened upon a shocking write-up. It was an old sheet of parchment. Someone had written something that scared me. "Ashria, the divine wolf of the moon and sun clan, i
