“I always forget how short you are.” Nora laughed as she looked down at me.
“Hey!” She wasn’t wrong. I wasn’t exactly short but 5’7” is short compaired to all the model figures the werewolf community usually puts out. Still, I weighed around 130. I had muscle, but Chase has always said I had a very feminine build. Curves in all the right places, delicate and sexy. Still, I was a fighter by heart. Everyone saw my body and assumed I was going to cry if I broke a fingernail.
“So pretty in your little frame.” Nora finished her makeup. She watched me for a moment as I finished my smoky eye. “I love that look on you. Such a badass. Those black matted nails will bring the whole look together.”
“That’s me. The badass!” Smiling at her, I just looked at my creation.
“Here.” Nora grabbed some bobbypins and pulled the right side of my hair back, pinning it behind my ear.
“There, that looks better.” The curls around the left side of my face made my jaw really stand out. The velvetly dark purple streak was in full view.
“Perfect. Let’s get dressed, we only have a few minutes left.”
My dress was completely black. It was a corset top with a sweatheart neckline. Going straight down, there was a very obvious slit down the side, keeping my leg in full view. Adding body-shimmer lotion, I was ready to go.
Knock! Knock! “You girls ready?” Chase’s voice echoed in Nora’s room. He had barely cracked the door open, so he didn’t walk in on us.
“YES!” Nora yelled as she finished zipping me up.
“Damn…” Chase’s eyes landed on my body. I got the pleasure of watching his eyes go down my body and back up before the fire really flashed in his eyes.
“Don’t mess my makeup!” I had to take a few steps back as he advanced on me.
“Fuck the makeup.” Chase growled as his lips smashed against mine. I could feel his dick hard against my core. The closer and closer we got to me being 18, the harder it was for him to keep his hands to himself. I told him I was waiting until I found my mate before I would sleep with anyone. So far, he has respected it.
“Looking good, Nora.” Aaron’s voice broke our kiss.
“Mid-night can’t come soon enough.” Chase let me go and adjusted himself.
“Thank you, Aaron.” Nora was wearing a black speghetti strap dress. The A-line dress hugged her perfectly.
“That slit is a little high, don’t you think?” Chase looked at his sister.
Nora looked shocked. “It comes to my thigh. Demi’s is much higher!” She pointed at mine. It indeed was higher. That is why I wasn’t wearing underwear. The slit came to my hipbone. I had to be careful to not give anyone a show tonight.
“Anyway!” Changing the subject, I grabbed my heels. They were black, with crossing straps around my ankles and up just a little into my calf. “I think we are ready!” Grabbing the only piece of jewelry I had, I slipped the necklace on. It was a single dimond that sat between my collarbones. The only reminder of my past life.
Chases offered me his arm, and Aaron offered his arm to Nora. They weren’t mates, but since Chase and I were a couple, they just fell into that couple roll.
As we walkek down the hallway, Chase was incredibly stiff. His body language did a 180 as we got closer to the party. Since I was outside, we had to walk a little distance to the tent.
“Chase, you need to relax. Everything will be okay.” I whispered to him. I couldn’t hold his hand completely as I was holding my dress up, so I didn’t trip.
“Mom wants you to sit with the family.” Chase barked out.
“Okay?” It wasn’t the first time I have sat with his family, but this was the first time he seemed angry about it. “Is this how you are going to act all night?”
Chase glanced down at me, but didn’t stop walking. Blowing out the breath he was holding, he pinched his nose. “I’m sorry.”
“I get you are anxious and whatever, but treating me this was isn’t going to work. I’ll sit with my other friends.”
“No. Chase will get his act together. Won’t you?” Nora chastized him like she was his mother. “We talked about this,” Nora whispered angrily.
Chase didn’t get a chance to answer as we approached the tent. Too many people were around us, mingling and laughing. It was beautiful. The sun was setting behind the trees. Lights were turned low and hunging off the tent’s wires. Black and white decore was elegantly placed. Flowers hung down, making it smell amazing.
“You kids look great!”
“Luna Callie!” Turning around, I was a little surprised they weren’t here already. “Alpha Dylan.” I bowed in respect. Luna Callie hugged Nora before she came over to me.
“That purple is amazing!” She touched my hair before hugging me.
“Thank you!” I was beaming as Alpha Dylan shook Chase’s hand.
“Get a drink and meet us at the head table. We are about to serve dinner.” Alpha Dylan took Callie by the waist and pulled her along.
“Sounds like a good idea.” Nora grabbed my arm and pulled me with her. Chase was about to stop us, but I watched another alpha pull him into a conversation.
“I hope he gets that stick out of his ass.” I whispered to Nora. She smiled at me.
Thankfully, there wasn’t a long line at the bar. “Agreed. I mean, he is taking seeing Luca to a whole new level.”
“Nora!” Some lady walked up behind us. Not wanting to intrude, I looked around at the guest. Scanning the room, my eyes landed on two men standing against the wall. One of them was whispering to the other. However, he didn’t seem to be paying attention as he was looking directly at me. His eyes drilled holes into my soul. Black as the night to match his shaggy hair. The trimmed beard did little to hide the muscles when his jaw clenched together.
“Demi?” Nora nudged me, bringing me out of the trance the other guy had me in. “What?” “You remember Amelia?” She was our age and the daughter or mate of some beta that I couldn’t remember. “Yes!” Reaching over, I gave her a hug. “How are you?” She was just as tall as I was, but a few pounds heavier. “I’m great! It’s so good to see you girls!” “What can I get you ladies?” The bartender got our attention. The three of us walked up to the bar. “I’ll take a burbon on the rocks. Whatever top shelf you have is fine.” I said instantly. “Still drinking that gross stuff, huh?” Amelia laughed. “I’ll take a cranberry and vodka.” “Make that two.” Nora laughed with her. “I feel like it just fits my vibe.” Laughing, it felt good to let loose. “Here you ladies go.” He pushed all three drinks over to us. Grabbing an extra straw, we turned back to the party.“We need to find our seats before my dad blows a vein, but come find us later, okay?” Nora smiled at Amelia. “Will do!” She waved bef
Grabbing the microphone, he looked at the crowd. “Thank you all for coming! This was our best turnout in years! As always, please enjoy yourself, drink, eat and soak in the last bit of heat that is hanging around! There is a flyer about all our activities we have planned this year. Please take one and let Luna Callie know if you are able to attend or not. Thank you all for coming!” A round of applause erupted in the tent before the D.J. started playing more upbeat songs. “If you kids excuse us, we have a few people we still need to talk to.” Alpha Dylan waited for luna Callie to stand up.“Also, you both better behave. I don’t want to break up any fighting either. Do not disrepect your mother in that way.” He glared at the two boys before walking off. “Why the fuck are you here?” Chase wasted no time in jumping on Luca. He leaned forward, looking completely pissed off. Luca looked like he was enjoying the whole thing. “Just catching up with family.” “Fucking bullshit. You always h
“Demi!” Nora came up to me and glared at Chase. “Are you okay?” Showing her my arm, I shrugged. “Didn’t need stitches!” “Good. Come on!” She grabbed my arm and pulled me to the table where Amelia and a few other girls were sitting. “Here is your drink.” Nora handed me another burbon. “Dad is asking for me. Are you okay?” Chase leaned down and whispered in my ear. “I’m good, thanks.” Looking up at him, I smiled to make sure he knew I was okay. He nodded and walked away.“Still with Chase then?” Amelia leaned in and smiled.“Her birthday is in a few hours. We shall see!” Nora smiled at me and pushed my shoulder. “Do you think it will be Chase?” Veronica wiggled her eyes at me. She was beautfiul and actually did some modeling for Victoria Secrets. Her long black hair bounced with each laugh.I was about to say I hoped so, but looking at my arm, I grew a little nervous. “I’m excited to see what will happen!” Chugging the last of my drink, I stood up. “I’ll be right back.” Showing the
“Mate.” I whispered, looking at the eyes. I felt the pull towards them.“What?” Nora looked at me. “Did you just say, mate?” “She did!” Amelia looked into the woods. “Who is it? Chase?” “What?” Chase’s voice sounded before I heard footsteps. Three men walked into the clearing. Heath had a smirk on his face, Chase was looking between us girls and Luca was staring daggers at me. No one moved as I realized who my mate was. “D-demi said mate…” Amelia looked unsure as she looked at me.“Mate?” Chase walked up to me, making me lock eyes with him. “But I don’t feel anything.” It took him a minute as he searched my eyes before he looked behind him. “Wait…” “Oh!” Nora clapped her hand over her mouth. “She’s my mate.” Luca growled. He didn’t make a move towards me. Instead, he looked at his brother. “Your mate?” His voice was low, but it was his body that was vibrating in anger. “SHE’S MINE!” I looked down as his claws extended. “You don’t want to do this,” Luca said, calmly. Nora grab
“How long did you know?” I asked Luca, breaking the silence. Taking a puff from my cigar, he walked up to me and leaned against a neighboring tree. There was a tree that was leaning over that I leaned against, making my leg fall out of my dress. Luca didn’t miss it, but he didn’t comment on it either. “When I first saw you. There was something different and as soon as I cleaned your wound, I knew.” I just nodded in response. I wasn’t sure how to feel. I loved Chase, but the moment I felt the mate bond snap into place, all those feelings vanished. I felt horrible for breaking his heart. “When do we leave?” I asked, as my cigar came to an end. Putting it out, I looked over at Luca. “I planned on leaving first thing in the morning, but since I assume you need time to pack, we can leave after lunch.” Luca finished his cigar as well before he stood up. Walking over towards me, he had this movement behind his eyes that I couldn’t read in the darkness. Grabbing my waist, he pulled me tig
I didn’t stop walking until we came to the gazebo in the garden. It was a way away that no one would hear anything we were saying. “Are you going to reject me?” Sitting down, Luca stood in the entryway. His eyes watched as I crossed my legs, allowing my dress to fall to the side. Exposing almost everything. “No.” Luca said as he twirled his glass. “Heath, talk you out of it?” I challenged back. Luca looked at me and smirked. “Are you normally this forward and scarastic?” “It’s a gift, really.” Shrugging, I waited for him to speak. “No, I’m not going to reject you, but I want to know your version of how things happened.” “Why does it matter? If you aren’t rejecting me, then my past should stay there.” “Because your past can still come back to bite you in the ass.” Standing up, I just started pacing around. Moving back and forth before I stopped in front of him. Luca just watched me, waiting to see what I have to say. Shooting back what was left of my drink, I just held onto it
Walking to the bathroom, I shut the door quietly and locked it. I wasn’t stupid. I knew most wolves mate on their first night finding each other. However, I would have expected him to rip my dress off, but he didn’t. Undoing my shoes, I just unzipped my dress when I heard the T.V. turn on. Since I wasn’t wearing anything under it, I didn’t have anything to wear under his t-shirt. It took me longer to take my hair out and wash my face than probably needed, but Luca never knocked on the door. Gathering what courage I could find, I unlocked the door and walked out into the bedroom. Luca’s eyes ran up and down my body before he turned the covers over for me to get in. Without saying anything, I did as I was told and slipped under the covers. Part of me wanted him to touch me and the other part wanted to just go to sleep. Luca turned the T.V. off. He rolled on top of me, looking me in the eyes. “I, Luca Hudson, Alpha of the Black River Pack, accept you, Demi Rose Gordon to be my mate an
The pain slowly became pleasure as he moved faster and faster. “Oh, fuck!” I moaned. My hands moved to my hair, grabbing a fist full of it, I moaned as my back arched. Luca pulled back and sat back. Grabbing my thights, he used them as leverage. Watching me come undone as he pounded into me. My tits were bouncing with each pump. The pressure was building up again as my fangs decended. Luca saw this and reached down to grab my arm. He pulled me up against him as he leaned back so I was riding him. Moving my hips, he opened up his neck for me. “Do it,” he whispered as he held my head against his neck. That was all I needed to sink my teeth into him. Hitting the bone, I felt anothe wave of the bond snapping into place. As soon as I pulled my teeth out, Luca pulled my hair back so my neck was exposed. He didn’t wait. As soon as his teeth sank into me, my orgasm hit hard and fast. Black spots explosed in my vision as I felt Luca shoot his seed deep into me. Once he let me go, he didn’t m
She wasn’t wrong, but I didn’t have a response to that. Instead, we fell into an understood silence as they kept working. Jared ended up joining us. Nodding his head towards me, he stayed on the other side of the group. The entire morning was just me standing there as they removed piece by piece. The mist became heavier at one point and all that was left were Luca and myself. We were completely drenched, but I didn’t care. Luca didn’t complain once as the water dripped down his chin, landing on every single muscle showing through his shirt. If I wasn’t torn up, watching the place I grew up with being burned, I would have been turned on. “It’s still watching us.” Luca finally muttered as lunch time was approaching. “Probably will all day. This is new and a change to their environment.” “Demi? Luca?” Peggy walked up to us. Her hair was stuck to her face, telling me she hadn’t went in any shelter that was placed up. “You are soaked.” I commented before turning back to my home. She
“Aren’t you going to stop her?” Heather whispered as I shut the door on them. I didn’t hear what Luca had to say to her. “What are you doing?” He asked, slightly curious. “I saw movement. What if it’s that creature again? We should name him.” “Name him? He isn’t our pet, Demi.” Part of me wanted to slap him through the mind-link, but I wasn’t sure how. “Are we going to just call him the creature? There are a lot of creatures out here. No one even attacks at night. All the more reason to think it was them who took my pack down.” Luca didn’t respond right away. “Freddy.” “Freddy? Like Freddy Krueger?” I crept along any open path. It didn’t look like anything had been disturbed but something was in the trees behind it. “Just because he comes out at night?” “I mean… it fits. See anything?” Luca seemed rather calm. “Something is in the trees, but it isn’t coming out. It doesn’t want me here.” That sent warning bells to Luca. “Maybe come back now?” “I’m assuming Heather is freakin
“Good to know I have that much power over you.” Kissing him hard one last time, I pushed him back.“Maybe we can sneak away and have more fun in the woods?” Luca rolled his eyes, but walked out of the bathroom as he adjusted himself. “I’m learning more and more about your kinky desires.” “What are yours?” I asked as he slipped on his shoes. Luca smirked as he looked up. “We are installing a pole in our bedroom.” I felt the heat rise in my cheeks as my tongue pushed against it. “I guess I’ll need some outfits…” “Love, you can have whatever you want.” Luca stood up and walked towards the door. “Ready?” “Ready for business Luca and not playful Luca…. never.” Luca rolled his eyes, but I felt the humor in him. As I passed him, he squeezed my ass. “Just remember all the fun things I’ll do to you. Do you really want me to do that in front of someone?” He whispered behind me. Wanting to call his bluff, I turned and looked at me. “Maybe I do.” Crossing my hands, I knew my boobs pushed
“I know you are awake…” Luca’s finger gently moved my hair out of my face. I was lying on my back, twisted in the sheets. He had fucked me into the night and now I was so sore that it hurt to move my legs. I swear my legs kept twitched all night. “I’m not.” Groaning, Luca turned my head towards him. His laugher died in his throat as he kissed my cheek. “We need to get moving. I want to be out there before anyone else.” I felt Luca shift beside me and my pillow dipped under my head. “You want to go into the woods while it’s still dark?” “I want to see if anything is lurking around… yes.” That got my attention. “Weren’t we supposed to have a relaxing week and get to know each other? Now we are seeking out legends that we were warned against.”“We are getting to know each other. I know if I do this…” Luca flicked my nipple with his finger, causing me to flinch. “… you will get aroused.” “Great. You know my body. What about my mind? Do you know me when the lights are on, too?” Luca
His jaw clenched as he closed the gap between me. The glass dropped from my hands, landing hard on the carpet at the same moment Luca’s hand wrapped around my waist. The other threaded through my hair at the base of my head, he yanked my hair. I was forced to look deep into his eyes. My breath got stuck in my throat as I read his emotions in his eyes. The more time I spent with him, the more I realized this was his way of showing his emotions. He wasn’t someone that spoke them out loud. No, he showed me how he felt. Right now, we both had so much frustration and nervous energy from almost losing each other, this was more about connecting again. I was done looking into his eyes. Grabbing the back of his neck, I pulled him down to me. It was like a switch went off. That’s all it took for him to slam his lips against mine. My core was instantly throbbing with need. I needed him in me, and I needed it now. Luca pushed me backwards until my legs hit the bed. Breaking the kiss, Luca put
When no one responded, she continued. “This thing was wild. The eyes were too big for a human, but not quite like a wolf.” She shook her head. “I didn’t get the best look. When I opened my eyes, it’s face was inches from mine. It screamed at me, throwing spit all over my face. It’s claws started thrashing as I tried fighting it off. I’m not sure what caught it’s attention. One minute it sliced my stomach open and screamed, and then it ran from my room. The spit was hot…almost spicy. Everything in me told me to run. I took a shirt and tied it around my stomach. That’s all I remember. I don’t remember running or even leaving my room. Next thing I knew, I woke up in Jared’s pack. They told me what happened and kept me safe.” I looked over at Luca. His expression wasn’t readable, but his emotions were everywhere. Mostly anger, but there was some understanding. “Did Jared tell you that you were sleep talking?” “He said it was like I was reliving things.” Heather tried to think back. “I k
Lilith cleared her throat. “Either way, you have received enormous support after the press conference.” She reached around and pulled out a vanilla envelope. Holding it out to me, she smiled a genuine smile. “Those are people who have reached out to contact you or commented on the interview you got.” She waited untilI opened it and pulled out pages of comments or emails. One by one, Luca and I read through them. “I think people just want to extend their condolences. Some I think you might remember and others just want justice for you. Either way, I was thinking it might not be a bad idea to hold a greeting party for everyone that has volunteered to help you out. Some have personal items or pictures of your family they want to give back to you.” Great, more people… However, maybe we might run into that woman and man again. If they were daring, they might come and mingle. “That is a big task to get done so quickly.” “It’s no problem, really. I just wanted the green light from you.”
I could tell Heath was uncomfortable as we made our way. He looked like he was wrestling with his emotions. Not that I blamed him, however, we did need to know what Heather actually saw. People were standing around, quietly watching the first house crumble to the ground. It didn’t take long before the roof completely collapsed. Embers scattered around before the wind took them into the sky. Something felt so right about watching the ash scatter around the forest. Luca put his arm around me.“How are you holding up?” He asked, in our mind-link. “I’m glad I said to burn it. This just feels right. Almost like a funeral when the ashes become one with the soil.” Resting my head against his chest, we just stood in silent.More people joined us. I could feel their presence around me. Silently giving me their support. “Do you want to do the honors?” A quiet voice walked up behind me. Looking back, he was holding out a match. “Are you ready for more?” He nodded. “This whole block, actually
“Not then. We found something when we were there yesterday.” I looked at Luca.“Demi had been poisoned and was passed out. Her memories came back as she was fighting off the effects of that. Either way, there is a creature out there that has protected her since she was little. It took us to some water and had me dive under it to a cave. When we followed it, we found humans. They were forcing a liquid into them, turning them into these creatures. No treasure, but something is going on here. I was able to spill the liquid, but two people showed up. We didn’t let a look at who it was. One man and one woman. Either way, we just got out and ran when you picked us up.”Everyone was quiet for a moment. “You didn’t think we needed to know this?” Rook was angry. That annoyed the shit out of me. “First off, I would like to point out that whoever killed my pack is still out there. I’m not sure how that fits into anything or if it even is a part of this. All I know is we are trying to figure out
