Chapter Nine

I unlocked the door to the dorm and stepped inside, and even though I was holding my breath and hoping Sienna wasn't around, she was. She was in bed, scrolling through her phone and as soon as I entered the room, she put it down and sat up, her sheets falling to her waist.

"Hi Rosette" she sounded chirpy, not the least bit apologetic for what she had done to me or even how that affected me. And that annoyed me, not that I wasn't already mad at her for what she did, so what did I do?

I ignored her.

I plugged my phone into the charger, stripped and got ready for a shower. Then I left her staring at me with narrowed eyes as I went to take my bath.

Surprisingly when I got back, she was asleep, and I didn't mind. I just pulled on my PJs dried and braided my hair before settling between my sheets. I unplugged my phone and there was a text from Alexander around the time I'd gone to shower.

After agreeing to meet up with him again, he had us exchanging numbers saying that he will keep in touch. I agreed happily even though I'd never done something like that before. The only people I communicated with with were my family, and it was nothing like chatting with a friend or a potential love interest. I didn't even have Jason's number, and I didn't really mind even though I needed to start making that my business, social interaction. I needed that.

After so many years, I was now receiving my first text, and it was from him, Alexander. The thought of his name alone had me smiling...

Alexander: Hey, Pretty Flower.

...and blushed furiously at the name, another involuntary smile making its way on to my face.

Rosette: Hi Doctor.

I wasn't sure if he would reply, considering his first message was about twenty minutes ago, but I kept my fingers crossed. Sure enough, I'm less than a minute, he replied.

Alexander: You're gonna hang on to this title, aren't you?

Rosette: You are a doctor, aren't you?

Alexander: Well yeah, but that's for those on my payroll, my patients, and anyone one else who cares for the formality. And you're neither.

Rosette: Interesting. Well if I'm neither, then which category do I fall into?

Three dots appeared to show he was typing before they disappeared again, and I grew slightly nervous about what he'd say, especially when he was taking his time in answering. Finally though, his reply came.

Alexander: You're a beautiful flower that I'm starting to really like.

I squealed silently...if that's even possible...in excitement, a goofy grin overtaking my features. This was definitely a scene straight out of one of my romance novels.

Rosette: So in this category, what do I call you?

Best to play it safe for now.

Alexander: Choose

Rosette: What if I don't want to?

Alexander: You have to, so please do.

Rosette: Fine

Rosette: Alexander

No reply, I waited for what seemed like minutes but was actually just seconds.

And when his reply finally came, I was hot and cold on a instant.

Alexander: Good girl. Now go to sleep, it's late. We'll talk in the morning.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to get my temperature under control and type a reply.

Rosette: Goodnight Alexander, we'll talk in the morning.

Alexander: Goodnight Flower.

Maybe I'd take a while of reading and rereading and maybe screaming in my pillow before I finally go asleep, because that was very necessary.
