Strutting on the door, she lifted her hand to knock with a bit of reticence.

His voice from the other side invited her in and she slowly nudged the door and made her way inside, being welcomed with a rayless room, everything about the space was opaque, the lights were switched off, the window was shut and the curtains were secured but she could make out the figure lying on the mattress in the middle of the room, his back pressed on the bed and his eyes soldered to the dark ceiling and his hands tucked beneath his head.
"It's dark" she cleared her throat, not walking further into the room as she stopped at the door.
"I believe you can see Maye" he retorted, his gaze never leaving the ceiling.
Maye began. "Skylar said you have been off lately, is there something bothering you that you want to converse about"
