THE CRACK... "Why are we really here?" Felan asked, crossing her arms. "For this." Pauly answered her, moving her hands in a wide open motion. "This dam. It has started cracking and all of the professionals we have asked to come out, tell us it can't be fix. The crack has recently gotten bigger and if the crack reaches the water it will break." Pauly said, pausing to gather her thoughts and emotions. "If the dam breaks, the valley will be flooded, drowning everyone in it." Felan finished for her. Pauly nodded and said, "We have been monitoring it every day. On Sunny days, or days where precipitation is light, we luck out and the dam holds. The days we get high winds or weather gets real severe, the dam crack a little more. We are hoping you can fix it." "I am not sure I can help. I have never tried to repair anything before." Felan said. "Is this why you don't want anyone in the shed by the river?" Keyne asked, bending to step on the top of the dam. "No, that shed holds the control
THE PLANS... Part 1Keyne had a few different plans, he wanted to run by the triplets. Plan 1 was to reroute the water away from the valley until the dam could be fixed. He and Felan would have to create a ditch. Plan 2 involved building a beaver dam further back until the wall was repaired or a new constructed. Plan 3 involved digging 2 ditches that would reroute the water around the dam, but adding flood gates that would reroute the water to a reservoir in the event of heavy rain or an increase in water flow. Though plan 3 seemed like a more permanent solution. It may still require some pack members to give up their homes but this is why he wanted to discuss his plans with the triplets to see which they thought would be the best course of action to take for their pack. The triplets arrived in what seemed like no time. Keyne discussed his plans, and got their opinions. The triplets didn’t want to uproot any member of their pack. They all agreed that plan 3 was the best course of act
The Plans... Part 2“I understand.” Skylar said, “You have no control over your body when this happens.” “Exactly,” Tank said. “I will return now and discuss this with Nezerra, I will help regardless of his decision, but I would like to make sure his decision does not get in our way.” Skylar said, as the triplets nodded and she faded.“Now what?” Raylean asked, looking at her siblings and the kids. “We wait for Alpha Nezerra to call.” Felan said, as she noticed Tank was getting a mind-link. “That was Crystal, She and Saddle will take care of Josiah first thing in the morning, unless he manages to trap himself in the tunnel.” Tank told them.“Good, now we just need to hear from Nezerra.” Pauly said, as the conversation fell quiet. “Either way, I am still willing to try. Even if it comes down to just Skylar and myself.” Keyne said, as Felan took his hand. “And me!” She said, squeezing his hand slightly. The 2 looked at each other as tingles ran up their bodies. He smiled at her as Pauly
CHAPTER 106AFTERSHOCK…They reached the top of the mountain, and took kneeling positions behind cover. A group of rogues were setting off explosions. The triplets and with Felan and Keyne made their way around to get a better look. None of the rogues looked familiar and neither did the hostage. “Do you recognize anyone?” Tank asked, as they huddled together.“No, how about you 2?” Raylean asked the kids. “No,” Felan answered. Keyne sniffed the air, and said. “They smell familiar.” Felan followed suite and immediately said. “They smell like my father.” “Wait a second, I think that is Mark. He is one of the ones that enjoyed how Josiah ruled.” Pauly stated, as her sister asked, “Who are they holding hostage?” Just then Mark yelled, “Where is Josiah and what have you done with him?” “That is one of Shaba’s men I think.” Felan answered.“I believe they called him Grande.” She said, when Mark started talking again. “We know he is close.” When Grande didn’t answer they threw a stick of dyn
MORE PROBLEMS…“Pauly, we have more problems,” Felan said, motioning towards the only T.V. still working. “What is it now?” Pauly asked, walking over to Felan. “Storm is coming in, heavy rains, high winds, thunder and lighting. The dam we built would hold if the rain wasn’t coming. But with the amount we are expecting to get, it will wash the dirt away from the roots and push against the old dam. It will bust open if that happens.”“How did you get to be so smart?” Pauly asked her. “When you grow up having to look over your shoulder all the time; you either learn all the survival skills you can or run and hope you don’t get caught.” She answered her honestly, looking at Keyne. “Fight or flight.” Keyne agreed coming to stand by her side. “I swore, I would fight before flight depending on the situation.”“I am sorry you both had to go through that.” Pauly said to them both. “It is not your fault, my sperm donor is a POS, or that Keyne’s mom lost her sanity. Sorry Keyne.” “No I agree wit
THE STORM…Soon the rain started to come down. It was slow at first, a misty spray as the witches gathered. Skylar had brought the twins, Makayla and Makenzy with a few other witches. The witches began chanting. The water began to rise and create a wall. “Whatever you are going to do, start doing it.” Skylar screamed at Felan. There was no response back, just a shadow casted against the water. When Skylar turned her head she suddenly realized what the fuss had been about. It was the first she had seen Felan and Keyne use their power. The glow coming off of them was almost blinding. Skylar looked around and noticed the members of her coven were watching also. She looked back at the river and knew it would collapse, unless she got her witches to focus. “FOCUS!” She yelled over and over as 1 by 1 they resumed their chanting. Felan and Keyne were pushing the ground so the excess dirt would act as dam. They were digging a riverbed that would run around the mountain tops of the valley below
THE ESCAPE…Josiah struggled against the restraints, but they were only getting tighter. “Keep struggling, I like watching you squirm. By the way, Saddle made sure to tie the knots so the more you struggled the tighter they would get. She said it was a special hitch knot.” Crystal said. “Might as well get comfortable, a big bad storm is coming in.” She said as a rumbling roar of thunder shook the walls.“Too bad, you have to stay tied up; wait that is actually good for me. I could always get you up. Even though you are a complete asshole, you are a great lay.” Thunder sounded again even louder. “I do love a good storm. It gets the blood pumping.” Crystal said, as she stood stretching. The rain began to fall, as they could hear the drops hitting the window.Crystal was getting really excited as she could see flashes of the lighting. She walked over to Josiah and asked as she starting to undo her top, “What do you say, we have 1 more go?” Josiah shook his head, hoping it would give him
THE TAKE DOWN…PART 1 Josiah screamed as they stepped out onto a road. “What the hell?” Mark asked him puzzling. “We have gone nowhere, except maybe 2 miles.” Josiah answered him. “Surely we have gone more than that.” Mark tried to reassure him. “No I recognize this road and just around the corner up there is where it ends. It leads to another road that will take us back out to the main highway of this hillbilly town.” Josiah told him. “Come on, it will be daylight soon. We need to put as much distance as possible between the valley and ourselves.” The storm may have bought us some time, but the farther away we are from this place when they realize we are gone, the better.” Josiah said as he cut across the road and headed toward the main highway. Mark followed closely as they started to gain more ground. “I think the main highway is just up here.” Josiah said. Neither knew that they were being watched. Skylar’s witches that she had tasked with recon had spotted the 2. 1 recognized Jo
