"So Diamond what school did you go to before this" I asked

"I went to West Lake high in Virginia"

"What made you guys decide to come to North Carolina" Roxy asked

"Um my aunt lives down here so I decided to come live with her; what classes do y'all have"

"Could I see your schedule" I asked she nodded her head and handed it to me and I compared our classes to see if we had any classes together

"Aye Alaina me and you also have Civics first period together" Roxy said smiling

I looked at her schedule then mine "I didn't even see that earlier, hey Diamond you have that class with us too and our last period too" I said happy I would be able to start and end the day with Roxy

"Cool and we have the same lunch" Diamond said "if I mean you guys wanted me sit with y'all"

"Girl its fine the more the merrier" I said nicely "well we better start walking to um Mr. Websters class"

"Oh gosh he sounds mean" Roxy said

"How, because of his name" Diamond said laughing

"Yeah Roxys theory is if a teachers name starts with a letter that's at the end of the alphabet then he or she is automatically evil" I said

"It's true Mr. Torris and Miss Young all mean as hell" Roxy said

"You might be right because I remember last year I had this teacher named Miss Simone and she was soo mean, she would send someone to the office for asking to use the bathroom" Diamond said

"Why" I asked

"Because she said and I quote by asking to go to the bathroom in the middle of the class is a disruption and therefore should be punished"

"Damn she sounds like a biiotch" Roxy said making us all laugh

"Trust me she was"

"Okay I'm pretty sure this is the class" I said looking at my schedule then the room number "yep this is right lets go ladies"

We walked into the class, I was happy because their were no assigned seats; but all the desks were positioned in groups of four

"Lets go over there by the window" Roxy said pointing to the desks

Me and Roxy sat next to each other while Diamond sat across from me, we sat and watched as the rest of the kids came in and took a seat; I rolled my eyes when I saw Sam walk in

"Out of all the fucking Civics classes" Roxy said groaning

"Y'all don't like her" Diamond asked confused

"It's a long ass story and if you last as our friend you'll know all about it" I said not really wanting to tell a stranger my business

"Yeah we have to see if you're the right fit for the Roxy and Lainy squad" Roxy said

"I think I am Roxy, Lainy and Dee" she said smiling

"You're not a psycho bitch right" Roxy asked squinting her eyes at Diamond

"Nope completely normal, but I am obsessed with Chocolate"

"Are you related to Chynna or anyone that goes to this school" Roxy asked

"No all my family is in Virginia and Georgia and I don't know a Chynna besides Blac chynna and I'm not related to her"

"Hm you're okay with me for now that is" Roxy said looking away from her slowly

"Okay down Roxy" I said laughing "but my question is in this whole Roxy and Alaina squad why is your name first" I said looking at Roxy

"Because Roxy rhymes with Foxy so you know" she said shrugging her shoulders like it made all the sense in the world

"That's make absolutely no sense" I said

"Okay lets let our new friend pick Diamond which is better: Roxy and Alaina or Alaina and Roxy" we both looked at Diamond waiting for her to choose

"Um imma let y'all finish but Diamond and the other two sound better than both of those" she said and we all burst out laughing

"Kay I'm beginning to like you" Roxy said

"Okay class quiet down and take your seats now" I tall bald white man said as he started passing out his syllabus "uh young lady take a seat" he said to a girl that was standing near the door

I looked up to see Sam standing against the wall with her arms crossed looking bored

"Awe her leader isn't here, she looks like a lost puppy" Roxy whispered making me grin

A part of me felt bad for her because it didn't seem like she knew anyone in this class but another part of me wanted her to suffer for everything that she put me through last year

"What's your name" Mr. Webster asked Sam once he noticed she wasn't moving from her spot

"Sam" she mumbled

"What" he asked cupping his hand around his ear

"I said Sam dang you can't hear" she said catching an attitude once she noticed the class looking at her she only acts tough when people are watching I thought to myself shaking my head at how disrespectful she was being

"Well Sam imma need you to drop the little attitude and take a seat" Mr. Webster said then continued to pass out the papers

"There's no more seats" she replied rolling her eyes

Mr. Webster looked around the class then his eyes stopped on the empty seat next to Diamond

"Oh gosh" I mumbled hoping there was another seat somewhere

"Right there" her pointed to the empty seat next to Diamond

Sam mumbled something and then walked over to the desk and took a seat

"Thank you, now back to what I was saying take a look at the paper I am passing out I suggest you all read it; one of my many rules is leave the attitude at the door" he said looking at Sam

Once he was done talking about himself and what this class would be about, he got a student to pass out big white poster boards to each group

"Now you guys know a little about me, now I wanna know about you; each group has a poster board and in different sections or columns I don't care you choose but I just want each group member to write their name, favorite color, food, favorite thing to do and what you want to be when you get older on the poster"

I looked at Roxy and we both rolled our eyes

"I'll write what I said on the board but you guys have about 15 minutes to get it done then present your poster, and don't read your own words read another member of your groups writing; okay you can begin there are markers and colored pencils in the back of the class"

"This is why I hate first days" I said shaking my head and pulling out my pink pencil pouch

"Right I'm here to learn Civics I don't care about other people's favorite colors" Roxy said rolling her eyes

"So are we just going to put our names in corners or in columns up and down" Diamond asked

"We can do columns right to left so there's more room" I said

"Yeah I'm cool with that" she said nodding

"Well I'm not I want to have my name by itself, I don't want it next to yours" Sam said pointing at Roxy and me

"Okay you can put yours in the corner after we get done writing ours first" Roxy said

"No let me go first" she said pulling the poster toward her desk

"No more people are doing columns so you can wait" I said pulling it back

"What ever I don't care" she said pulling her phone out and leaning back in her chair

"Oh wow" Diamond said raising her eyebrows

"Oh wow, what" Sam said looking Diamond up and down

"You're being extra over a poster like come on you're way too old for that"

"Babygirl you don't even know me so don't even try to tell me about myself" Sam said

"Okay and you don't know me either I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt cause I don't know you, but I see why no one wanted to sit near you" Diamond snapped back

"Whatever I saw y'all three talking in the hallway earlier so you probably already had a problem with me" Sam said

"Don't flatter yourself, Sam we were definitely not talking about you to anyone; it's her discussion if she wants to be cool with you or not" I said while grabbing a marker from my pouch

"Right and I don't want to be cool with you because clearly you have issues you need to resolve" Diamond said

"Whatever I don't give a flying fuck about any of y'all so stop talking to me thanks" she said putting her head down

"No one wanted to talk to you in the first place" Roxy said "anyway guys lets get started on our project"
