Angel moved to the guest room at the end of the hall, embarrassed, because all the servants seemed shocked by her move. However, Angel took courage, saying that this was her decision as an inviolable hostess. Angel has never been a hostess in her entire life, but it turns out that being Dave's wife has its advantages too in this house, because all the maids and servants were afraid and bowed down to her without daring to refute her.

The room was as beautiful as the others in the house were and Angel arranged her few clothes in the enormous wardrobe. After that, she sat hesitantly and waited for Dave to come home.

In her heart she wondered, was her decision to follow Dave's orders by moving out of the main room the right one? Or does this just make things worse? Should Angel just stay in the room and force Dave to explain everything to her?

However, she couldn't bear to accept his humiliation and rude attitude towards her.

Maybe this is the right decision. When they split rooms, maybe Dave could think a little more calmly and realize he'd been overly jealous of Jim. Then, after he calmed down, Angel would explain everything to him, the truth about Jim and that Dave really didn't need to be jealous of Jim.

However, it turns out that Angel's wait was in vain. That night Dave didn't come home.

Angel wakes up with swollen and puffy eyes. Last night after waiting for hours and realizing that Dave wasn't coming home, Angel had spent the time crying and bemoaning herself, lost in an eerie confusion. She didn't know what had happened, she didn't know why Dave was treating her like this.

She felt so alone, completely alone in this house.

Sighing, Angel stepped into the bathroom and washed her face in the sink. As she looked into the mirror, she winced at her swollen eyes with dark circles around them.

This is not the appearance of a bride on her honeymoon. There will be no happy bride who wakes up with a headache and puffy eyes, not knowing the whereabouts of her husband.

Angel felt her eyes burning again, wanting to shed tears in the corners, but then she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

Problems can't be solved just by crying.

Angel must find out why Dave suddenly turned into a stranger. Dave who is now her husband is not the gentle man who is so affectionate that she loves. Angel doesn't want to be silent, she doesn't want to be treated rudely without knowing what she did wrong.

After showering and changing clothes, Angel stepped out and headed for the dining room. Full breakfast is already prepared there.  Angel's stomach suddenly rumbled when she smelled the smell of the omelet and fried rice that was available there.

She couldn't deny, even though her feelings were raging, her body screamed sending alarms saying that she was hungry. Because last night, after Dave left, there was no appetite at all to eat.

Her stomach hurt and constricted, and even though Angel didn't have an appetite, she took a plate and filled it with some omelet and vegetables to prop her stomach up. Angel can't get sick just because she's starving. Somehow she felt that she had to stay strong and survive.

Because worse might be coming soon.

Dave came home a few moments later, when Angel had finished her forced meal even though she had no appetite. The distinctive sound of his car entering the spacious yard made her stiffen. She put down her spoon and sat anxiously waiting at the table.

Dave's steps seemed rushed up the stairs. Angel listened to him warily until she heard the sound of the man slamming the door to his room, then heaved a sigh of relief.

Shortly thereafter, when there was no sign of Dave coming out of his room, Angel stepped into the living room, sat in the corner of the comfortable light brown sofa and pondered.

Why was she so afraid of her meeting with Dave? Was it because his insults were so deep in her heart that it traumatized her even to talk to him?

However, which woman is not traumatized when being proposed with love, married with the belief that she has found her soulmate who will love and care for her, only to later find out her husband had changed like another man so rude, insulting her and being so mean to her?

A movement at the door caught Angel's attention and made her gasp. Dave stood there, with his cold, unreadable face, staring intently at her. His hair was wet because the man seemed to have taken a shower. It's Sunday so it looks like he won't be going to his office.

Angel's heart skipped a beat. Is it time for them to talk and clear up all misunderstandings or whatever it is that seems to make Dave very angry and hate her?

Dave's expression didn't remain unreadable as he stepped into the study and crossed his arms over Angel.

“You moved out of the room.”

Angel lifted her chin, trying to look tough under Dave's intense gaze. “Yes, as per your request.”

Inner Angel continued that Dave's request was done by condescending and insulting her, but of course, she didn't put it into words. She didn't want to make matters worse.

“Very well,” Dave's voice was so cold that Angel gasped and looked at him in surprise. She did not expect that such an answer would come out of her husband's lips.

“Why are you acting like this to me, Dave?”

Angel frowned at her husband, trying to find the tenderness and affection there, which usually radiated when he looked at her. However, there was nothing in Dave's expression that was flat and cold. There was instead a cruel gleam in the corner of his eyes.

“Because I'm disappointed in you.” Dave narrowed his eyes. “Because after marrying you, I realized that I never loved you.”

Dave's words were like lightning striking Angel's heart, scorching it mercilessly. However, she is not a weak woman. She is strong. If this were true, she would accept it. Dave could have broken her heart and made her cry in her room because her heart was broken.   However, in front of him, she will struggle to be strong. She will not allow herself to appear weak in front of him.

“Then you can cancel our wedding. You haven't touched me and we've only been married two days. I think we can take it to court,” Angel replied calmly.

This time it was Dave's turn to narrow his eyes. He looked at Angel with a probing look.

“How come you can say goodbye so easily?” his words pierced her, as sharp as his words. “Do you really not love me and only after my treasure? So you were happy when I filed for divorce?”

Dave approached threateningly, causing Angel to automatically step back. “Have you planned this with your sweetheart Jim? You think you can fool me?”

“Jim is not my lover!” Angel emphasized the tone of her voice, trying to sound firm despite the shaking. “And why are you twisting the facts, Dave? Didn't you say you regret marrying me and don't want to marry again?”

Dave stared for a long time, staring at Angel with a fixated gaze.

“Smart girl,” he muttered then. “You thought I would divorce you that easily? If I cancel this marriage, I will have to compensate you. If I divorce you, you will get a large share of my property to you. All of those things are in your favor and I won't let them.”

Dave's eyes narrowed. “There will be no divorce,” he hissed. “Not until I can prove your infidelity, so that I can divorce you without you taking anything that doesn't belong to you.”

Then like before, Dave turned around and left Angel alone.

Angel couldn't take it anymore, her tears had spilled in the quiet spacious room. Meanwhile, after the argument earlier, Dave went again somewhere. It seemed that the man had purposely come home just to hurt her.

Angel had been holding back from contacting Jim. She didn't want her friend to be worried. Besides that, deep inside, Angel still hopes that all of this is just a dream. If everything was fine, if she just opened her eyes and then found her old Dave back.

What's wrong with Dave? That question always rings in her mind. Painful confusion, made her tears fall because she felt blamed for something she never did.

There was nothing bigger than Dave's jealousy of Jim, only something so big could cause a sudden gleam of hatred to burst into his eyes. Whatever it was, Angel had to know, because she couldn't stand sitting here, full of tears and didn't know what to do.

Right now there was only one person who could help her, her best friend who understood her above all else. Angel took the risk of igniting Dave's even bigger anger by contacting Jim, but somehow Dave was already furious with her for no reason. So there was no point in Angel being busy thinking about protecting Dave's feelings while the man himself didn't care.

She dialed Jim's name on her cell phone, determinedly, then Angel waited. On the third ring, Jim picked up the phone.

“Angel?” Jim's soft voice sounded on the other end.

Angel took a deep breath, holding back a deep sense of choking as she began to cry again.

“Jim….”

Dave froze even though his whole being was like being struck by lightning. Are they not their father's children? How could that be? Is his mother having an affair with another man?Nevertheless, the results of the investigation gave Dave an answer as why his father did not seem to care about them, why his father did not have the slightest love for them. It turned out to be because of this, because they were not their father's biological children, and because they somehow seemed to symbolize their father's betrayal, the betrayal of his unloved wife. Then of course, it was natural for their father that he would devote all his attention to Angel, that girl, his flesh and blood, his biological child from the woman Dave was sure he loved very much.“Did you say this to Daisy too?”The investigator looked at Dave regretfully. “Of course I did. Again, I'm just doing what I have to do.”No wonder Daisy was devastated by it. She had
