Jillie’s POV
The look he gave sent shivers through my body. His beautiful eyes were so full of want. I felt him as he blew on my sacred area. He then kissed it before drawing back and blowing again. I felt his finger probing my entrance before he slowly slid it in. A small moan escaped my lips as he continued to blow on that area. He was killing me, and he knew it.
I sat up on my elbow as he slid his finger in and out of me. He gazed at me as he blew yet again. I tried to glare at him. I’m sure it was anything but. He picked up the pace of his finger, and I felt another one join it. I sucked in a breath. My breathing began to increase as I nibbled on my bottom lip, watching him. I was seconds from exploding. He brought his finger
Jillie’s POV My eyelids fluttered open as feather-soft kisses were placed on the back of my neck. The arm around my waist tightened, pulling me closer.“Good morning,” he whispered in my ear.I lay my hand on top of his, lacing our fingers together. “Good morning.”He turned me in his arms before kissing my lips gently. “This looks good on you,” he stated, lifting my hand.I smiled. “I think so, to.”He kissed my lips once more before sliding out of bed. “I’m going to get in the shower.”I looked his body over. His naked body before I registered what he said. “Um, okay.”He chuckled. “Don’t worry, babe; you can have it whenever.”I smirked at him. “Then I can have it now.”He rolled his eyes. “I’m sure you’re sore.” He was right. I was. I watched as he entered the bathroom, closing the door behind him. I stood, stretching. I walked over to the dresser and pulled out one of his t-shirts. I pulled it over my head before picking up my panties and sliding them on.
Jarren’s POV I walked into the living room, pulling my vibrating phone out of my pocket. I looked at the caller I-d before answering it.“What is Xander?”“Who’s your favorite cousin?”“Garret.”“Oh ha. Very funny. Well, then, I guess you don’t want to know what I found out.”I rolled my eyes. “Don’t play with me.”He chuckled. “Well, I said I’d only call if I had something major, and this is major little cousin.”
Jillie’s POV“Jillie!” I turned around, closed my locker, and found Alyx and Sage coming down the hallway.“Hey. What are you doing here, Sage?”She pulled me into a hug. “I wanted to congratulate you.”I smiled as she released me. “Thank you.”“So, tell us how it feels to be an engaged woman.”“You both should know.” They just shrugged. “It feels…amazing.”“And you have no regrets? You don’t think this is too fast?” Alyx asked.
Jillie's POVWalking into the kitchen, I saw her open the stove and lean down.“Mom, don’t move,” I said in a panicky voice as I crossed the kitchen.“What’s wrong, sweetie?”I grabbed the oven mitts, moving the pot to one of the back eyes. “Nothing now.”She stood and looked at me, then at the pot. “Thank you, Jillie. I could have knocked that over. It would have been a nasty burn.”“I can imagine,” I told her. “Where’s Daddy?”“He’s getting out of his suit jacket and tie.” I set the table for three and pulled the tea from the refrigerator. Mom had just sat the food in the middle of the table when Daddy walked in.“Hey, Daddy.”“Hey, princess,” he stated before kissing my forehead. We fi
Jarren’s POV“Jilliannah, we need to talk.” I knew by the way her body stiffened that it was a mistake for me to use her first name, but I felt what we needed to talk about was serious. I know she may think it’s unreasonable, but I needed her to see the importance of it. She sat up and leaned against the headboard.“About what?”“Us getting married.”“Um, okay. What about it?”“I know we just got engaged, and talking about this may seem too soon, but we need to set a wedding date.”
Jarren’s POV“Hey, beautiful.”“Hey. My mom said you were picking me up for dinner tomorrow night.”“Yes, she’s going with my mom to the restaurant to set up everything early.”Jillie shook her head. “They’re taking this a little too seriously.”“Are you saying that it’s not serious?”She closed her locker and turned to me. “Of course, that’s not what I’m saying. They’re just doing a bit much, is what I meant.”“You can’t blame them. My mom has been hounding
Jillie’s POV“Rainbows and lollipops!” I called as I entered my house.“Kittens and lemon drops!” Came the familiar response as I heard footsteps coming down the hall. I hugged Kaileeh, and we spun around. We laughed so hard that I didn’t hear the second set of footsteps coming down the hall.“Why do the two of you do that?”I looked up and saw my Aunt Kassie. “Hi, Aunt Kassie.”“Hello, Jilliannah.”I turned back to Kaileeh. “Is everyone else here?”
Jillie's POVWe sat and watched TV. My phone ringing pulled my attention away from the show we’d settled on.“Hello.”“Come open the side door,” Jarren responded.“Okay,” I stated before hanging up. “Kaileeh, close that door,” I said, pointing to the den door that led to the hall. Getting up, I made my way out of the door that led to the charity room and to the side door. Opening it, I smiled at Jarren. He leaned in and kissed my lips.“Hey, beautiful.”“Hello, handsome.” I looked past him. “What is
Jillie’s POV I took a deep breath. My hands were both shaking. I’d been avoiding this for two weeks now. It was too painful. I knelt in front of the headstone. Running my fingers over the engraved words, tears slowly ran down my cheeks. “Hey, Mal,” I stated through my tears. “I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner. I just couldn’t live with the guilt of knowing this happened because of me.” I stated quietly. “But the guilt I felt for leaving your funeral early and trying to stay away outweighed that.” I took another deep breath. “This sucks, Mal. This really is unfair. We were supposed to make up, and everything was supposed to get better between us. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. Me sitting here crying my eyes out and talking to your headstone.” I paused for a minute. “We were supposed to do so much together. Go to college, get married, and have kids. Oh, speaking of kids, Alyx is pregnant. I know she wasn’t your favorite person, but I also know how much you like kids.”
Jarren’s POV“We’ll take them outside and burn them,” I stated, looking at all the bodies around us. I then looked around the room for Jillie. “Where did Jillie go?” I asked, panicking.“She and Kaileeh headed that way. I think there’s a door over there.” Garret stated.“Who screamed earlier?” I asked. I’d been so occupied that I hadn’t stopped to see who it was. I just knew it wasn’t Jillie. My eyes scanned the room until they landed on Mallory on the floor in a pool of blood. I then saw Mina on the floor as well. I shook my head. She was the only vampire I knew that could be easily
Jillie’s POV I watched as they were all secured to a wall with what looked like metal shackling. I was held in place by one of his many goons. I surveyed the room and counted thirteen of them. Even if the three weren’t bound, they’d still be highly outnumbered.“Malinda,” Nyx stated, drawing my attention.“I already told you I don’t know who Malinda is,” I stated calmly.“You’re in denial, my dear. You’ll remember soon enough.” Oh wow. He really was insane. Not just the crazy I’m going to kill you all insane, but t
Jarren’s POV“What the hell do you mean you took her to the tree?!” I yelled, slamming Xander into a wall. “I said she couldn’t go!”“She wanted to go, and I was curious!” He yelled back.“Why don’t both of you calm down.” Garret intervened. I glared at Xander before finally letting him go. I made my way over to the sitting area in the library.“Well, what did she see?”“She said she saw people, but they were more like shadows.”“Shado
Jillie’s POV I sat up as I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Kaileeh came into view a moment later.“Hey. Where are you headed, all dressed up?”“Garret just called and said he had a surprise for me, so I’m going to meet him. I was wondering if I could borrow your car.”“Sure. The keys are on the ring by the door.”“Thanks, Jillie. I’ll be back in a few hours.”“Be careful. It’ll be dark soon.”She nodded. “Bye.”
Jarren’s POV I watched as she tossed and turned. There was absolutely nothing I could do for her. Reid had already given her a sedative, but it wasn’t working. What was happening to her? I heard her say my name a few times, but that was it. At first, I couldn’t make out the rest of what she was saying.“Jarren, stop it!” She screamed. I looked at everyone in the room, confused.“Stop what, Piccolo?” I asked, moving closer to the bed. I let out a hiss as pain ripped through my right side. What the hell was that? I lift my shirt slowly to see a wound. It looked like fire hit me. I could feel all eyes in th
Jillie’s POV“What exactly are we looking for, Jillie?” Kaileeh asked.I moved another box aside. “Those old picture albums.”“Which old picture albums? Aunt Teya has a lot of them.”“All of them.” I emptied a box. “Just put all of them in here.” We went through the entire basement looking for photo albums. It took us two hours to get them all. We ended up with three boxes full. After lugging them up the stairs and into my room, we collapsed on the bed.“When I said Aunt Teya had a bunch of albums, I was kidding. She h
Jarren's POVMaking my way through the trees, I ran nowhere in particular. Just trying to run my frustration out. I’d been moving for hours, running to the next city over and beyond before returning. I was still a bit agitated. I continued to run until I was outside Jillie’s house. It was after two in the morning. I knew she was sleeping, but I couldn’t stop myself from waking her. I pulled out my phone and hit her speed dial button. It rang five times before going to voicemail. I hung up and called again. This time she answered on the fourth ring.“Hello,” she answered groggily.“Come outside.”“Okay.” I could hear her moving around. “Give me a minute,” she stated before hanging up. I slipped my phone back into my pocket. I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned against the house. I couldn’t go inside for what I
Unknown POV It was all coming together now. Everything I’d worked so hard for the last hundred and fifty-plus years was coming true. It took me a while to get to this point, but the reward at the end would be well worth it. Rising from my seat, I made my way to the window. Looking out, I was met by the vast expanse of trees. Secluded and, at the same time, visible.“Brother.”“Have a seat. I have something I want you to do for me, sister.”“I’m listening.”“There’s a full moon Friday night. This is what I need you to do….”
