Max continued walking through the hallways of the hospital beside Damian, who remained focused on their surroundings. As they walked in silence, Max felt the urge to break it.

"Umm, hey," Max said tentatively to Damian, who didn't immediately respond. Damian's eyes remained fixed on the hallways as if he were the sole person walking through them. Undeterred, Max pressed on, determined to address the issue at hand.

"Look, I'm sorry once again about my colleague," Max apologized sincerely, his voice tinged with regret. "He just seems to have a knack for saying the wrong things at the wrong time."

Damian suddenly came to a halt, turning to face Max directly. His gaze was intense, suggesting he was ready to respond, his gaze intense and serious. His silence lingered for a moment, creating an air of anticipation.
