Ch. 27: Talk

Sariel's point of view

"Let's go outside? We can't talk here in the middle of the bookstore," I respond. But before that, I saw Lexi and Kenzie peeking at us from the stationary section. I frowned in their direction. What are they doing?

Maddy started walking outside, so I just followed him. "Wait, where are we going?" He didn't respond to me. I thought we would go inside the lift, but instead, he goes to the stairs and waits there. I hesitated, but I had no choice—I had to talk to him about Murphy. He motioned for me to follow. This area is for staff use only and leads to a restricted area. Why is he taking me here?

I growled at him, "I told you we needed to talk." By now, I'm starting to get pissed.
