CHAPTER 3

With all that had occurred, Zendaya had decided to take a break from work.

She laid there on her bed, her face buried within the pillow as faint sobering could be heard.

Ding!!! Goes to her phone as she briefly lifts her head reaching for her phone. From the looks of things, she had spent the leave crying about the whole incident as her eyes could be seen all red and swollen.

She had all her calls placed on voice mail as seen on the display screen informing her about the hundred and thirty-six unattended voicemail she had.

You have one new voicemail. Her phone informs her she was about to archive it like the others when she notices most of the mails were in fact from Marceaux.

She had decided to ignore the mails remembering the hurtful words he said to her but just then there was a knock on her door. She stood up and went towards the door to open it and it was Marceaux, she invited him in and he decided to have a straight conversation with her…

    Zendaya, I came here today to inform you that I want us to sign a marriage contract; he said without any emotions.

Zendaya stared at Marceaux, her heart pounding in her chest. A marriage contract? How could he suggest such a thing? But as she looked into his eyes, she could see that he was serious. He wasn't proposing out of love, but because he wanted to make up for the years she had made him wait in vain.

"I don't think that's a good idea," Zendaya said, feeling a little uncertain. "I don't want to enter a marriage just to pay you back for something I didn't do intentionally."

Marceaux's expression hardened. "You left me at the altar, Zendaya!!. You shattered my heart and left me humiliated in front of the entire world. You owe me this much."

Zendaya knew he was right, but she couldn't bring herself to accept his proposal. "I need some time to think about this," she said, standing up. "I'll get back to you."

As he left her house, Zendaya couldn't help but wonder if Marceaux still loved her, or if he was just using her to get what he wanted. She wondered if he had really forgiven her, or if he was just trying to punish her for what she had done. She decided to call Lexis and tell her about it.

  

 You mean what????????

he proposed; she said happily. Of course not, he asked for a contract marriage which means a loveless marriage where I will have to pay him back for all the things I have done to him.

Wow, but girl I mean there still might be a chance you know. 

Lexis made up her mind that she was going to meet up with Marceaux and talk some sense Into his head. Getting to his office, she met him there and he was prepared to have lunch so he invited her to join him and she wasn't polite.

   While they were having lunch, Lexis said…I heard you are getting married to Zendaya and this time it's a loveless marriage why?

Look, I came here to give you a piece of my mind. Don't even think of hurting her because I won't stay quiet anymore and besides, what's the use of having so much money if you can't hire a private investigator to find out what's going on in your circle of friends!!! Lexi yelled angrily and left the office. Marceaux was left to his thoughts and was a little bothered but he remembered Lexi and Zendaya are best friends so what if it was a trick to fool him; he smirks inwardly. Over the next few days, Zendaya couldn't stop thinking about Marceaux's proposal….. A marriage contract? It sounded so cold and calculated. But on the other hand, maybe it was a chance for them to start over, to heal the wounds of the past and build a future together, she hoped. Rick got information that Lexi met with his cousin and they parted after an argument, so he was on his way to Lexis apartment and he just happened to meet her in the driveway, he rushed up angrily to block her way and started yelling… what did you tell my cousin you b*tch~ ohhh are you scared and is that why you ran all the way here to tell me all this "she scoffs loudly" When you threatened me that day you didn't feel you were going to be threatened to uh, good riddance to bad rubbish oh and hey a good dog doesn't block its owner way so step aside I have important things to do than to stay here and feel disgusted……

 Zendaya decided to accept Marceaux's proposal. She knew it was risky, but she was willing to take a chance. They signed the contract, agreeing to stay married for two years, and then go their separate ways.

But as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months, Zendaya began to realize that the feelings she had for Marceaux were not just a thing of the past. Despite everything that had happened between them, she found herself falling in love with him all over again. They spent most of their time together at work, and she was amazed at how much she enjoyed working for him. 

Marceaux had a lot of qualities that she admired: he was smart, As they worked on various projects together, Zendaya found herself drawn to him more and more. Sometimes she would steal glances at him and blush when he caught her eyes. One day, Marceaux surprised her with a dinner date at his lavish penthouse apartment. When she arrived, he greeted her with a bouquet of roses and a smile that melted her heart. 

"Zendaya, you look stunning," he said, admiring her dress. "Shall we?" 

As they walked into the dining room, Zendaya gasped at the sight before her. Marceaux had spared no expense in creating a romantic atmosphere, complete with candlelight, rose petals, and a stunning view of the city skyline. 

They had a happy dinner and even drank some wine that she started feeling dizzy then something weird happened, she began to notice the way Marceaux looked at her was so weird and all the warmth and love she saw in his eyes suddenly vanished replaced with a cold glare, she gasped and was surprised then he walked up to her and grabbed her to his chest forcefully and kissed her madly and the wine and desire got into her head that she couldn't resist; by the time her mouth separated from his she found her self on his bed with her blouse torn on the floor and when she wanted to struggle it was too late and she couldn't beat the strength of a man, just as he began to thrust into her tears filled her eyes and she felt the feeling of despair for the first time but later it turned into an intense scene of pleasure that she couldn't help buh moan his name soft and loudly, they had sex till the early hours of morning and when she woke up, she found her skin so pale and red from all the bite marks and she was so messy and wasn't even covered properly lying on the bedside her was a debit card and a paper with a writing included.~ Miss Ivorida our contract marriage begins from now and just like I told you, your duties are to lie under me and get paid don't be too foolish to think I fell in love with you or something, head over to the civil affair later and get our marriage certificate, I have important things to do other than that, a large drop of tears falls as she read what was written on the piece of paper over again.

Am I that worthless to him, do I seem like a prostitute to him; she asked loudly to no one in particular and wiped her eyes, the moment she tried to get up from the bed she fell on her butt and realized it was due to the intense pain and shaking of her thighs, she slowly tried to get up and hafly crawled to the bathroom and stood Inside the shower doing nothing but crying continuously; she felt so alone and hurt. What did I do to deserve this? Yes I know I left him on the altar and he wants payback but how can he do this to a woman he once claimed he loved deeply?

Marceaux pov:

On my way to work, I kept thinking about how her reaction would be when she woke up and found out, but I couldn't find any joy. Instead I was worried if she would do something harmful to herself or if she kept crying. I parked my car by the roadside and heard a dinggg from my phone, I opened it and realized it was a video so I downloaded" While watching the video I noticed the background settings were of a hotel room in the next minute I saw something I never expected to see in this life and it left my eyes and mouth wide open……..
