Chapter 16 "Evil Stepbrother"

Jane’s POV

As soon as I finished my work in the flower shop, I went back to the Geelq company to fetch my Eugene. Secretary Byron gave me a fake ID to wear so I can disguise myself as one of the employees.

“Miss Jane, I am sorry that we are using the main hallway. Something went wrong with the elevator we took this morning. So, they are currently fixing it,” Byron apologized.

I waved my hands mid-air and said, “No. It’s alright. I’m fine walking.”

“But I am sure they will fix it soon. We can use it on our way back.”

“Right. Thanks.”

I continued following Byron’s tail here in the hallway of the company. There were many employees around the building and they were busy on their own so no one gave me any attention. And that’s for the better.

While walking in silence, I fell into deep thoughts again.

Since this morning, I couldn’t stop thinking about Eric’s fiancee, Haidee Wren.

‘Pretty, kind and elegant.’ This is how I describe her.

I have nothing against the woman whom Eric will marry so
