Phoebe's POV

“So the car has been towed away by the loan shark and the house would soon be taken away by them?” Felicia asked me when I explained the situation to her.

“I need to keep the house Felicia” I held her hands.

If she can loan me some money I know my pay as a nutritionist isn't that much but I can still handle some bills and expenses.

“Can you lend me some money?”

“You don't know how much it's hurt me to see that I can't help you in the way I should…I'm sorry Phoebe I'm not financially buoyant at the moment.”

“Grandmother is battling with cancer and I have to clear medical fees.” 

“We'll sort this one way or the other.” She hugged me.

I know she has a lot of things going on. I shouldn't add mine to hers ,I was grateful that she was right here with me.

“I want to go to Jacob's place…I…need…to get my things away from his place.” I pulled away.

When we got to Jacob's place it was locked. Luckily for me he hadn't changed the password we entered when I unlocked the door. To my surprise everything was still intact. I looked around sadly and the memories of us flowed in at once. I wiped the lone tear that managed to escape.

“Phoebe.” Felicia called worriedly.

“Let's go inside the room where my things are.” I went in and Felicia followed from behind.

I packed my stuff in a hurry, it was like spending any seconds longer would have killed me. My hand hit something and I bent down to pick it up.

“Felicia.” My voice broke.

“What's wrong?” She showed up worriedly.

I showed her the picture that dropped it was a picture of Jacob and my boss Elsa I grabbed the hem of my gown tightly. I laughed loudly and my reaction scared Felicia.

“For how long has this shit been going on!” Felicia huffed.

“Let's just go.” I picked up the bag I still held on tightly to the picture.

Jacob had been screwing Elsa behind my back ,I should have known ... .how come I didn't see it? The whole scene had been playing in front of me for a while now and I didn't see it.

“Am ..I m..that… bad?” I asked all of a sudden when we were on the bus.

“You're beautiful, kind,sexy, hot. It's his loss for leaving you, not yours.. you will find someone better than him, someone that will love and cherish you, someone that deserves you.” 

I smiled but I knew I wouldn't love anyone again. Jacob has successfully broken me. I will never open my heart to any man again. 

Morning came faster than I wanted, I had wished that all this was a dream and that when I woke up things would have gone back to normal. I walked in the elevator and pressed the floor button, prepared to face my boss.

“Good morning Ana.” 

“Good morning Phoebe.” 

“Is Elsa in the office?” 

“No,she asked me to give this to you.” She handed me a letter.

I took it from her ,what's with me receiving an awkward letter? I opened it nevertheless expecting to find an apology letter only to find out that I've been fired?

“I've been fired!” I looked at Anna.

“What?” She was shocked also.

“Is Elsa in?” 

I know that there would be issues working with her but her laying me off that's ridiculous. I did my best to satisfy her ,I worked extra hours….she had an affair with my fiancee but that wasn't enough she decided to pay me by doing this.

“I'm sorry Phoebe she didn't give this to me directly her assistant did…did you guys have a fight?” She asked with a panicked voice.

“No.” If it was about getting angry I should be the one angry at Elsa not the other way.

“I'll take my leave now.” I managed to smile.

“What will you do now?” 

“I'll be fine.” I told her and walked outside.

Getting home I found the man and his guards outside. I swallowed my saliva in fear. I didn't know what to say or how to plead with him… 

“Good evening.” I smiled at them.

“What is good about the evening?” The man came close and poked my shoulder.

“Please…give…me…some time.” I knelt down.

“Too late we are taking it,get your stuff and leave.” He pushed me away.

He signaled for his men to go in. I hugged his knees and begged him if he could just give me some months. I would get a job as soon as possible and start paying him.

“Let go of me, woman.” He kicked me.

It stung but I held it in one by one. The men threw my clothes and bags out and locked the door. After putting a lease on it they walked away.

As if the day wasn't bad enough, the heavens opened and the harsh rain poured down heavily on me. I stood up and walked away . The rain beat me harshly. My legs had worn out but I didn't care.

When I got to the bridge I looked around seeing that no one was watching the iron bars and shut my eyes tightly. It high time I joined my parents I couldn't survive anymore life is painful.

“All this will be over as soon as I die.” I murmured and jumped down.

The water embraced me and soon I was engulfed in it. I could feel the water running through my nostril and eardrum. I shut my eyes tightly and embraced death.
