_____It was so ironic how I was starving yet I was an employee at a food organization. Fitfood was a well-known industry that touched every aspect of food products. Mister Ross had his business being the best food supplier in the state and was slowly creeping into the world.I yawned at the mere thought of the meals I usually devoured in the company kitchen.Shaking off the thought, I stared outside through the car window. We had arrived in the hospital. After a flight which mostly found me sleeping and getting woken up by nightmares, we finally landed and drove to the hospital. The blue sky which was dotted with clouds was rapidly turning into a shade of black, an indication that the rain was approaching and the storm was going to fall down. The hospital was industrious as usual. There were movements around the reception area where we were approaching. We hadn't reached the reception when my eyes fell on Susan. Susan was the company secretary. A well-known lady who was smart with both brains and dressing code. Everyone in Fitfood admired Susan, and I also did.She was slightly taller than I was, if that was not from the heels she usually wore. Her blonde hair fell gracefully on her lean shoulders. She had a slim face but most importantly was her makeup, she had a hand on that. She was always wearing lipstick that matched her outfit. At that moment, she was clad in a dark red skirt and a white top. Her lipstick matched her skirt. She had seen us so when I was busy checking her out, she was on her way approaching us, with her beautiful smile offered to Oliver. A smile I never got, because I nearly forgot that she hated me for some unknown reasons."Mister Castillo." She opened her arms and gave Oliver a quick hug. "Long time no see.""How are you?" Oliver was also excited to meet her. I realized I found Susan working for Mister Ross before I joined, so she knew Oliver."I'm okay." She gave me a quick glance and then ushered Oliver toward the elevator. "I've been taking care of your father."I rolled my eyes, yeah right! Like I haven't been in the hospital alone?"You are always an angel." Oliver praised. They were engaged in a conversation all through until we got to the room. I mostly never paid any attention to most of the conversation as I was on my phone. I was reading some news about the CEO of FitFood being in critical condition. I hated news, they could exaggerate and give one heart failure. But honestly, Mister Ross was not okay. Some other news spoke of Mike, Mister Ross' driver who died in the accident. I immediately shut the phone and exhaled, feeling tears emerging in my eyes. I blinked them off and then concentrated on reality. We were already in Mister Ross' room where only machines were making noises."He has been like this," Susan explained and I closely told her that he was better than yesterday. I watched him struggle to live. "The doctors have really done a lot.""I see." Oliver breathed. He stood beside his father with his hands deeply pocketed. He did not look bothered even seeing his father in his state. He had bandages all over his body. From what the doctor told me, he had sustained some serious internal injuries and he sort of broke his one leg.I moved close to the bed to examine his face but Susan stopped me. "Liana, I think it's time you take a break. You can go home, I am sure you had a long day." She sounded calm, hiding the fact she loathed my mere presence. She started hating me the first day I was employed as PA, which got me closer to Mister Ross than she was."No, it's–""As I said, I will take care of him." She insisted, leaving no room for argument.I gave Mister Ross a look then back to Oliver and Susan. They were looking at me as if I was wasting their time. I fixed my handbag on my shoulder and then nodded."Okay. I will come tomorrow." I nibbled my lower lip as I moved back.No one spoke. I left them, but a huge part of me wanted to stay and watch Mister Ross recover. He was the only friend and close person I had.Mister Ross loved to have all dinners with me. Once we left work, his driver and I would take him home. He owned a mansion that he always complained was empty. Even with the presence of his workers around, he always said they over-respected him and he never liked it.Mike and I used to spend the evening with mister Ross, have dinner together, and later, Mike would drive me home on his way to his place. The three of us were close. I loved how we worked together. I was dying to see Mister Ross back on his feet because life was boring without him.It had started raining when I hauled a cab to get me home. I was dwelling in a one-bedroom apartment that was cheap enough for me to afford. The apartment was not so far from Mister Ross's mansion, just a few miles away.I paid my fee, then opened the door and ran to the entrance of the building I was residing in. I used my handbag to cover my hair from being soaked.I ambled to the third floor and entered my empty house. I had no idea that the moment I would be alone was when reality was gonna hit me.I sank onto a three seater sofa which was the only one I had in the room. I fished for my phone from my handbag but I realized I did not have friends to talk to. As I scrolled through my contacts, I found Mister Ross' number which I was the only one who had it aside from Mike.I shakily pressed on it, it was turned off. After a few seconds, it directed me to a voicemail.I cleared my throat and found myself talking."Hm…Good evening, boss, I…hm, I am calling to let you know that you have an important appointment with William Banks. You know, the owner of Banks Corporation? I am sure they want you to be the supplier to their organizations."I swallowed a stubborn lump that nearly choked me."So, y-you better wake up. You always told me not to lie my head down when I have battles. So, why are you there? Please wake up."I exhaled heavily and then rested on the sofa facing the ceiling. After a moment, I hung up the phone and then shut my eyes."I'm so lonely."A warm tear gushed down my cheek. I hated to be alone because now that I was alone, I was reminded that I never had friends, no family, or siblings. They all hated me.When I shut my eyes, sobs emerged from my throat and I was crying. I hated crying.A buzz from my phone caught me grabbing it. Part of me thought it was Mister Ross who had woken up and saw my message, but when I checked the screen, I was caught sitting up abruptly.I wiped my tears to see well, it was hard to believe that just when I had thought of my sibling, my sister texted me.Kira Moore texted me!She never replied to my message, for three years. I have been the only person who texted her to ask about them. But she always ignored me, like she wasn't the one who wronged me. She never even looked up for me when I ran away. With my racing heart, I opened the message. I thought they were good news, but my heart left me when I read, and re-read the message.Kira: 'Dad passed away. I thought you should know.'Laila Moore _______ I never got any sleep the whole night. I mostly wanted the morning to rise so I could rush back home. And after almost a seven hours flight, I arrived home. I was back in New York, a place I never thought I would return to. As expected, I got cold feet from everyone. I had joined them in ST James cathedral where there were memorial services taking place. After so long, I saw them again. My mother who was as beautiful as always, my sister and his husband, and my father who was sadly in a portrait. They also saw me, and no one even cared to be good enough to say hello. They concentrated on the memorial, letting visitors come in, view the body and leave. My sister was heavily pregnant. It was something I did not expect because for those years, I lived remembering some words from her husband, who was my ex-boyfriend, 'I will never love her until she gives up. And I will be back with you.' I spent my three years thinking Timothy meant those words, and part of me w
Laila Moore ______ I traveled back to California overnight. I aimed to be at the FitFood building very early in the morning to secure my job. When I ran away from home back three years, the pain never felt this immense. The heaviness I was feeling in my chest as I left New York was unbearable. Many were those who pitied me while on the plane, maybe from how dead I looked. I wanted to give up. I was on the verge of drowning myself to death. But some words kept chiming in my brain. They were Mister Ross' words. 'Never give up' There must have been a reason why everyone in my family hates me. I hoped just a day would come and I would at least know, because it was really hard to bear it all without knowing why I deserved it. I hated everyone, and I was close to changing my name and living like they did not exist. I deleted everyone's number and blocked them from every social media. It was not easy, but it was for the best. They were not gonna hear from me ever again. I had just arr
Oliver Castillo Ross_____I switched off the disturbing radio news that was all speaking of the CEO of FitFood. He was not only all over the internet but also in the news where everyone was trying to exaggerate the story.I gripped the steering wheel tighter, making my knuckles turn white. I revved the speed of the car, desiring to make it to where I was going, as quickly as possible. The rain was dropping immensely and the night had crawled in like an insane demon.I left the highway and took to the road that led to my destination. From a distance, I could see the lights illuminating from the windows of the building I was nearing. The music was blaring to the stereo and expensive cars were driving into the building.I stopped the car outside the entrance, grabbed my phone, and stepped out. A parking valet took the car keys and I left it to him. I advanced towards the entrance door. The assessment was as usual but my presence was recognised. The two guards opened the door for me imme
Liana Moore._____I stuffed my mouth with a fork-full of spaghetti. The restaurant served them best with baby kale salad and an avocado lime sauce which always worked wonders for me. Whenever I felt lazy to cook, since most of the time I ate at work or home with Mister Ross, you'd find me in Cain restaurant enjoying their spaghetti. Some of the waiters knew me. My arrival was always felt and they did not miss to approach me and tease me with my "the usual" order.I sat near a window that gave a view of the busy area. People moved about and vehicles made noises in the street creating an industrious ambiance. That was the noise I was craving for on my shitty Sunday.I had no idea why I needed to eat a lot. It was a day after my father's burial and even though I had resolved to never care about my family, every pain was now on my shoulders. The thought that he was gone forever was what gave me nightmares.I wanted to assume everything and move on but it hit hard to realize I even missed
Liana Moore____Monday morning found me at the Fitfood building for the interview. I nearly missed the interview as I overslept but luck was on my side. Though it had begun, there were still a few people who were waiting. As soon as I walked into the room where the interviewees were waiting, everyone turned to me with a deadly silence reigning. Not even a single sound could be heard, except maybe the noise made by my uneasy breaths. Maybe they were staring at my attire. I had a feeling with the ridiculous black-fitting dress that I chose to wear that morning. Or perhaps it was my hair which I styled with my fingers as I ran here. Oh, it could have been my face, definitely yes. I had a fever and I knew due to excessive blowing of the nose, I looked as red as a monkey's butt."Ah, ignore it and sit down. At least you made it." My super supportive inner voice encouraged me.I mentally calmed myself and ambled nervously to a three-seater seat that was occupied by two ladies. I could fee
Liana Moore _____ It was either I was the problem, or something was certainly wrong with Susan. I did not expect us to have a decent conversation, but the point where she couldn't even answer a question about the company was infuriating. I had delivered my papers to the HR office where I found her having a chat with Jonathan. Jonathan was an employee at the HR office.I had no plan to talk to either of them but when I heard her saying she canceled all of Oliver's meetings, I was concerned and I had to ask about it.The last time I checked, Mister Ross was supposed to have a meeting with William Banks. Everyone knew who William was. He had launched a new five-star hotel and a resort. The meeting with mister Ross was for Fitfood to start supplying food to his restaurants. He was to be part of major customers of the company but from what Susan was dishing to Jonathan, it appeared that the meeting was not gonna happen. As if the company hadn't lost customers already. There was an hour
Liana Moore___Some decisions in my life always fucks me up. Choosing to meet a client in Boss's place was probably the worst decision ever, but nothing happened. Yet. I had been expecting a call from work bearing news that I was probably fired again, but Tuesday arrived without hearing anything from Oliver. That meant I was to show up for the job as required. My usual job routine always started at Castillo mansion. I was supposed to pick him up so we could go to work as I discuss with him his schedule. At least that's what I used to do with Mister Ross. So was his son.I arrived earlier than usual, probably from anxiety or excitement. Being hired again at the company brought joy to my heart. The Castillo mansion was a dream paradise. The architectural building stood towering over the surrounding buildings. It was a house to point at whenever passing by the estate, an estate believed to be owned by rich people. Its exterior was painted white but most of the walls were those huge gla
Liana Moore.____ I tossed my handbag on the table and sighed in frustration. I couldn't help but glare at the door where Oliver walked into. He was getting on my nerves, and I was gonna pour my outrage on him anytime soon.I sucked in the fury and walked around the table. I sank into my seat and thanks to the comfortable leather chair because it calmed my tensed nerves. I leaned on the backrest and commenced swiveling. I needed a plan to tame him.He was not going to sign up with William Banks. I wondered what I was going to tell Knox William, he was visiting the company to tour around and then sign the contract, but the boss, Oliver, was against it.We were already on the edge of incurring major losses, we needed prominent organizations to sign up as our customers. I grabbed the iPad and checked Oliver's schedule again. The healthy inspector was to visit the central production kitchen. Oliver was to accompany him. Later he was to approve the new package of cassava chips. But ther
Chapter 5___Alessia____A brisk breeze grazed my shoulder, and a shiver ran down my spine. I sluggishly fumbled in search of something to cover myself from the chill, and fortunately, I found one.My body felt relaxed, except for the window of the room that was certainly open, allowing the breeze to sneak in.A soft groan left my throat and ran my hand through my hair. I inhaled the delightful scent on the bedding, enough to bring a smile to my lips.Stretching my hands with a yawn, the breeze grew strong, wafting in the room and carrying with it the scent of the ocean.I grew reluctant to wake up; the bed felt so comfortable that it compelled me to continue sleeping. But my stomach rumbled. I was starving. Most of the time, I rarely woke up hungry. I got used to waking up in the middle of the night to grab some snacks, like cupcakes. Did I skip a meal?Attempting to remember what I had for dinner, visions began gushing in my brain. The untouched delicious meal from the romantic d
Chapter 4___Alessia----Marco turned twenty-five. On the evening of his birthday, the two of us were at his house. Marco suggested a simple setting in his house's backyard. It warmed my heart to see that he wanted to enjoy his birthday with me alone. My dedication to making the relationship work was apparent, given my ability to throw an incredible party. So, I agreed to his proposal of a simple dinner together. He owned a luxurious beach house, one of a kind in the area. Marco was a rich kid, raised by wealthy parents and now running a business. He took over as the president of one of his father's businesses. I would lie if I said I knew what kind of business his father owned. I had been careful not to appear snoopy, so I never asked. The backyard looked gladden in the eyes, complementing the golden dress he sent me. The radiant lights and the candles on the table gave me a certain warmth that made me relax. I admired the commitment he exerted to make the dinner memorable, given
Chapter 3____Alessia___I arrived at Carina’s home.Isabella, Carina's baby sister grinned at me after opening the door for me. Her front teeth were all gone. I bent over and pecked her forehead then gunned towards Carina's bedroom upstairs.Their home was my home, so knew the place in and out. I was like a family to them and I wished my family was as happy as theirs.I stepped into her room. She sat on her bed with a laptop on her lap. She had her headphones on. When she sighted my sudden appearance, she took her headphones off and then crawled out of the bed, shock smeared on her face. "Oh no! Not again?" She scanned my face then took the bag from me. "Yep." I collapsed on the bed, my face idolizing the white ceiling. "Why didn't you call me? I could have picked you up?" She sat beside me. "They could have known that I came here. But this time, I want you to tell them I am not here.""Hm." She snorted "They definitely know you are here." She rubbed my knee. "I wish I could di
Chapter 2____Alessia____I threw my thong on a strangers face. The central part of it lay on the outline of his nose down to his lips. I could have done a lot like to admire his appearance but clearly, I had dressed up a stranger's face with a golden thong. I got up quickly and as a result, the chair fell with a thud and people didn't care about the noise at that moment, like the catastrophic situation I put myself in.The gent towered me. His hands were deeply in his pockets as he started down at me.I opened my mouth and shut it without a single word coming out. I opened it again and there, I found my voice. "That should be mine." Those words fled through my lips and I didn't miss how Carina groaned. I was also disenchanted because I knew very well that an apology was the only word that was supposed to be heard. My brain always takes a short break when I get cornered in an arduous situation. So I decided not to speak but to take action. I stepped close to him so I could take th

Oliver___By the time it hit midnight, everyone had to rest for the night. We couldn't risk getting exhausted for the wedding. But there was something I could risk, like finding the bride and just kissing her.I hated the silence in the mansion as though no one existed. Lights were dim, the night was quiet. I made my silent approach to the kitchen.Getting a warm glass of milk ready, I also made myself a glass of coffee and occupied a seat on the kitchen island. Minutes passed and I could not stop glancing at the entrance. She had to show up because I believed she couldn't sleep like I couldn't. I was excited and nervous, and I believed she missed me.A whisper got me shooting my head to where it emerged. It was from the garden where our wedding was to take place. I got up and made my way to the window, to take a peek, only to see Mary and Dad talking. They seemed to be in a little serious conversation which I bet involved what they had between them.“Are they arguing?”“No, it doe—f
Oliver_____The office door opened even before I answered. The grinning face of Leo showed first, followed by Liam whose face remained on his phone. I pushed the laptop off me and leaned against the back seat as I watched them take their seats.“I don't appreciate the way you treat us,” Leo complained. “What are we, robots?”I smirked. “I did something?” I asked as I rubbed my chin. They looked weary, something I did not mention.“Tomorrow is the wedding,” Liam asked. “And you told us this morning?”I nodded. “Thank God I did not forget to tell you.”Leo rolled his eyes. “You are an asshole.” He lamented. “What changed?”“What changed where?” I questioned as I rested my elbows on the table. “Nothing changed, you need to prepare to be there. I need the rings. That's the only remaining thing.”“Dude!” Jason did not look pleased. “What is this, a morning walk or something? Enlighten us, venue, dress code, guests, everything. We need to do all that.”I waved. “It's all done. Nothing to d
Liana Moore____My eyes remained on the mirror with Oliver standing behind me. He was busy drying my hair after we had a long warm shower where we did a lot of naughty things. I could feel his fullness in me, stretching my hole and filling me while I stood against the shower wall. His kisses all over my skin, the parts of me where his lips met were left burning with immense desires. He knew how to handle me, he loved handling my body, worshiping every inch of my skin. And I loved it all, my body allowed him in.“What?” I asked when I noticed he was gazing at me a lot.A warm smile settled on his lips. “Nothing. I just love how you trust me with your hair.”My brows pulled together. “Now I am scared.” He laughed, God, even his laughter was so cute. “Oliver!” I wore a serious look though I felt like joining him in laughing. “I remembered doing this to Clara, and I ended up burning her.” I suddenly jerked and stepped away. Leaving him as he laughed. I could never trust him again now.
Liana Moore____3 weeks laterI won the case. I watched Mum get dragged by the police for the murder of her husband. I couldn't imagine how one could be so evil to poison their husband so they could own a family business. But her husband wasn't to worry, like to realize they schemed my parent's death. “You wicked daughter, I treated you like my own!” She screamed at me while disappearing. The tears I had been holding threatened to spill but I held them when I saw Timothy walking to me. Fury filled me again. I turned to Oliver who had his hand around my waist. “Let's get out of here,” I whispered but Timothy arrived. My eyes caught Kira leaving. The court had ordered her to leave the mansion and I saw how devastated she was. Lost, angry, confused, alone. She disappeared from the door and I sighed, focusing on Timothy. “Liana—”“Miss Moore,” Oliver said before I did. “She is Miss Moore for you and if you want to talk to her, you know her lawyer.” He declared and turned to me. “Let'
