Chapter 30-My Father’s Employee

Caroline’s POV:

My father was rushed to the hospital, where frantic doctors quickly escorted his unconscious body to the operating room. My eyes widened in horror when I was told that his condition was life-threatening. My father had been brutally struck on the head and needed emergency brain surgery as soon as possible.

The waiting room was filled with my sobs as I openly prayed that my father would turn out alright. My dad was the only family I had left in a life full of death and abandonment. If he died, his legacy would be as a criminal, and he was too good a man for that fate.

While I anxiously waited for the operation to be over, possible clues from the past few days came rushing back to me. My mind scrutinized William’s undying hatred towards my father, the incriminating yet dubious video on his computer, the mysterious text I’d gotten, and the possible reasons why someone would want to hurt a man as kind and generous as my father.
