Swallow

Cade couldn't stop himself from crying as he saw the condition Jessica was in. He tried to run to her but his legs felt heavy so he just trudged forward until he finally reached where she was seated.

Jessica spread out her arms, calling him in for a hug but Cade was hesitant so Jessica pulled him closer and hugged him tightly.

"I missed you." She whispered in his ear.

Cruz sniffled hard as he tried to stop his cry.

"I'm sorry Sister-in-law. I really am." Cade apologized in between his sniffles. "I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise of protecting you. While I was there having fun, I had no idea you were going through hell over here." He cried as he clenched onto her.
