171. Ignorance

The doctors patched them up. When Sara left the doctor's office, she found Yohan standing in Noah's room, watching him getting fixed up. It warmed her heart. She noticed Yohan's bloody hand and back, but he didn't seem to care. He didn't even go to see her; he was here for her son. She could feel how worried he was about Noah.

The doctor told Yohan, "His wound's gonna heal up real quick. No need to fret." After the doctor left, Yohan perched on the edge of the bed, gazing at Noah for a bit before ruffling his hair.

"Does it hurt, buddy?" he asked.

"Nope, uncle," Noah replied, shaking his head. Yohan took him on his lap, and the little guy rested his head on Yohan's strong chest, clinging to him and shutting his eyes. Yohan sighed, hugging him tight.

"Are you hungry?" Yohan asked.

"No, uncle."

"Sleepy?"

"Nuh-uh."

"Why're you so sad?"
