Just as I ended the call with my dad, I heard footsteps and quickly turned my attention to Cora's bed. I saw her best friend, Emily, walking slowly towards the bed with tears in her eyes.

"Cora!" She cried as she sat by Cora's bedside and held her hands.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

When she turned and saw me, she quickly got up and said, "Mr. Fletcher. I just woke up now and the doctor told me I could find Cora here. I was also told that you called an ambulance for me and Cora. Thank you so much.

What happened to my friend? Did those evil men succeed in getting to her? Why is she unconscious?"

"You should get enough rest," I told her. "The doctor said you took a big blow to the head and as such there's clotting in your brain. Cora was forced to inhale toxic smoke but she's out of danger now. The doctor said she would be awake in no time so, you don't need to worry.
