Jake felt pain in his heart.

Even though he knew that his time with Tiffany was short and that she was eventually going to end up separated from him, hearing her say it so casually made him hurt, because he had so much love for her in his heart.

Their time together meant so much to him that he planned to treasure it for the rest of his life.

But then, she saw him as a pastime and she didn't just keep it to herself, she told Paris everything and said staying with him would mean she was settling.

As he walked back to the room, he sat on his bed and thought back to everything that had happened between him and Tiffany.
