"Why did you marry me?" Tiffany yelled. "I know better than anyone how much Dass loves me. If he did not show up at our wedding then something must have happened to him but what did you do? You took away my only chance to reunite with the love of my life, and for what? My body? You will never have it!"Jake scoffed, "You are nothing but an ingrate, Tiffany. I will reunite you with your beloved Dass even if it's the last thing I do.And do not worry, we might live under the same roof but even if the world was left with only me and you, I will never look at you. This is a promise!"........................Tiffany's world comes crashing down when the love of her life, Dass, disappears on their wedding day.Upon the request of Tiffany's mother, Jake her childhood friend, steps in and marries her. However, Tiff blames Jake for ruining her chances of reuniting with Dass, by marrying her.Upset by her words, Jake swears to reunite Tiff with Dass no matter what. What happens when Tiffany comes face to face with Dass but realizes she has fallen in love with Jake?Tiffany sat inside the car, waiting for her groom to arrive. She was so excited that she felt her heart would burst. She had spoken to Dass about two hours ago and he had sang how much he loved her and couldn't wait for them to get married. It was thirty minutes to the time, and her parents had arrived and gone inside. Her brother, Reign was also inside while she remained in the car with her maid of honor, Paris, and her sister-in-law Cora. All her bridesmaids were in different cars all lined up outside the church. Her wedding was a big deal and had been the talk of the town for months. Others in her family, like her brother, preferred to keep things simple but she wasn't like that. She loved the publicity and the attention. She was a star after all. Her wedding ceremony was going to be broadcast on various news channels and social media platforms. Her fans were all looking forward to it as she had created question and answer sessions with them, gave a list of all the different places
"What do you want me to do?" Jake asked Mrs. Fletcher."Please marry Tiffany!" Paige replied and Jake widened his eyes in surprise.Barbie pulled Paige to the side and said, "Listen, I know we have always wanted this but this is a different case. There are court documents there and once they write down their names and sign those documents, they will be married for real. Considering that this is a wedding in the public's eye, Tiffany would be forced to put up appearances with Jake and play the happy bride. You know she is the most stubborn member of your family, would she be comfortable with this? I know it will be embarrassing for Tiffany and you all but wouldn't it be better to admit the truth and let her heal her wounds later on? If they get married, they would be stuck with each other for at least six months and they are no longer kids.""I understand your concerns," Paige replied. "The point is that there is no groom and Tiffany is in there with so many cameras flashing at her. Ye
Tiffany sat at the front of the church nervously, fidgeting with her fingers. Ever since Reign left to bring Dass, she had not heard anything from him or anyone else.Paris and Cora were by her side, telling her that everything was going to be fine, even though they were minutes behind time.Recalling how her brother's life had been put in danger many times, as well as the enemies they had, she feared that Dass may have been harmed and regretted making her wedding a viral affair.Others in the audience began to wonder what was going on, especially since members of Tiffany's family kept going out and coming in, and there was no sign of the groom.Paris received a text message from Paige at this time and her eyes widened in surprise. She looked at Tiffany through the corner of her eyes and gulped.Meanwhile, Reign arrived at the back of the church and met his mother, Barbie, and Jake. When he heard about the new plan, he sighed. He wasn't happy about the turnout of events but like his m
JAKEI saw the look on Tiffany's face. Even with the veil covering her face, I could tell that she was very sad and it broke my heart. If I had the ability, I would have made Dass appear right there, just so she would be happy. As she sat beside me, the priest gave his admonition to us, explaining what was expected of a husband and a wife.Afterward, we were asked to say our vows. Since I hadn't written or prepared any vows in advance, I said what my heart moved me to, "On this special day, I promise to always put your happiness above everything else.""I promise to love, respect, and cherish you for the rest of my life." Hearing Tiffany say words like these to me, made my heart beat faster, even though I knew they held no meaning for her.I was even impressed that despite the disappointment she had faced, she was still able to act like everything was okay. I could swear the vows she has prepared for Dass would fill up paragraphs and pages. With that one sentence she made, however, th
TIFFANY "Where did I go wrong? Where did it all go wrong? Everything still felt so surreal. Yes, it wasn't real. This couldn't be me, things like this ought to happen to other people and not me, not Tiffany." I was in denial, I was in shock that I had been left alone at the altar by the one I loved more than my own life and now I was thrust into a marriage I never imagined would happen even in my wildest dream.I tried to call Dass severally but his phone was still turned off. I sat on the floor in my bridal dress, crying my heart out. I didn't know how long I sat there, I didn't know how much I cried, but eventually, I had no tears left. My throat hurt, my heart ached and I felt thirsty and listless. There was no strength or motivation to get up from where I was. I remained in the same position, sitting as though my life had come to an end until I fell asleep."When I opened my eyes It was late, and dark outside, very dark.My muscles were cramping from being in one position for to
TIFFANY I threw my phone on the bed and began to pace up and down.Yes, Reign posting my and Jake's picture was okay. At the very least, he didn't say anything. But with this interview, my mum had confirmed that Jake was the love of my life. How could she say that? What was I supposed to do when I found Dass and reunited with him? Live in hiding? When I eventually divorced Jake and got married to Dass, what would people say about me? What would people say about him? My mum should have just ignored those reporters.I picked up my phone and called her. When she answered the call, I asked, "Why did you have to grant them an interview? What was that for, mum?""Relax," my mum replied. "It's just for now. People are saying a lot of things and I want the dust to settle. What you need to do is stay off social media for some time and avoid them. When you and Jake eventually get a divorce, everyone will think that your marriage probably didn't work out. If people find out, you can make them
JAKEAfter listening to the things Tiffany said to me, I was disappointed in her. I also felt very hurt and betrayed. To think that I was willing to do anything to make her happy, but then she thought so lowly of me. As I went into the guest room and locked myself in, I decided I was going to leave first thing the next morning and that was it. Whatever I had with Tiffany, which I had thought was friendship was over. I was going to kill it, yes, I was done. I took my bath and laid on the bed, but I couldn't get any sleep as the words she had said to me kept playing over and over in my mind."Once I go back, I will send her divorce papers," I told myself.I was surprised to have found some clothes in the room, obviously arranged for Dass by Tiffany's father; a man whom I looked up to, as much as I did my father.I dressed up in one of the pajamas I found there before going back to lie on the bed. I was still trying to get myself to sleep when I heard a knock on my door.I knew it was
TIFFANY "What's a relationship without trust?" I asked Jake.He smiled, "As I said, a relationship needs trust, I couldn't agree more. But that doesn't mean you should turn a blind eye to certain things. Like the issue I just raised.Dass' family members were not present at his wedding and I think that should get you thinking deeply about what happened."I sighed, "Well, let me explain the dynamics of his family's relationship. Dass is an adopted son, he spent some parts of his life in an orphanage and was later adopted by his parents.Later they had a son and Dass became the unwanted mistake in the family. So he basically grew up in an environment where he wasn't loved or wanted. When he took me to his parents, to get to meet them, I could tell that they didn't love him. They merely spoke to me out of courtesy and even when they came over to meet my parents too, they just did it so they would get him off their backs. They never wanted to be involved in the wedding and they've not re
