Chapter 29: Rude Awakening

Michael was finally able to sign the divorce papers and today, we would be meeting in order to make settlements concerning how we would split our assets in a fair proportion. I’d told my self to be calm, because there really was no point in me meeting up with him and his lawyer if I was a nervous wreck. I’d gotten the day off from work thanks to my somewhat lenient boss.

Speaking of my boss, the last couple of days have been extremely awkward. We hadn’t spoken much as he was completely swamped with work, now being the full time CEO, his duties had in creased tenfold. He had to make sure that every department of the company was functioning optimally, having several meetings with stakeholder and various potential investors. Also, there was the fact that he was thinking of expanding to Europe, which would involve a lot of travelling. Right now, there were talks of buying a marketing firm in France, and that was his main preoccupation.
