She hadn’t pushed him, yet his death was on her hand.

Alexandra stood at the edge of the cliff, staring down with a blank expression on her face.

How exactly had things spiraled out of control so quickly? One moment she had control over everything and then the next someone was dead.

How?

“Madam Grey.” Michael’s voice called out from behind, but unlike usual, it sounded far away like she was in a totally other universe than he was.

Slowly, she turned around and looked at him. He held out a damp napkin for her and it was only until her eyes glanced at her hand that she realized blood had gotten on them when she sliced David’s cheek.

“Thank you.” She said and collected the napkin, swiping her hand and disposing of it down the cliff. The moment her hands were cleaned up, she no longer felt like there was any need to dwell on what had just happened.

She was no killer, David Smith had jumped by himself and she didn’t need to torment herself with possibilities that just might have never work
