She answers."Alright. Does three o'clock suit you?" I ask."Of course it does." She replies. Good, she's flexible."Well, see you then. Come into the main office, and then ask for Gale." I say."Oh thank you so much." She says and I put down the phone. That was easy enough. Times flies as I study, and 3 o'clock arrives. A woman, who looks in her late thirties walks into my office."You must be Sarah." I smile as she walks over to my desk, and nods. "I'm very impressed with your resume.""Thank you.""I've run a background check. You are all okay. Are you up for the hours?" I inquire.
"Hey, It's Gale." I say into the phone, the next morning. I only have to be at work in an hour. It's seven o'clock, so I have a tiny bit of time to do what I want to. "Hello Gale. I need you at the office." Aidan orders. Never mind then. "Alright. I'll be there in fifteen minutes." I say. He ends the call, but I look down at my clothing. Damn. I'm in sweat pants and a shirt. I run up the stairs, I throw on black chinos and a white blouse, and finally, I put on my leather jacket and motorcycle boots, and I leave my hair in its curls, and rush down to the office on my motorbike. I arrive there, and check my watch. I'm two minutes early. I breathe a sigh of relief and run quickly to my office. I throw off my motorcycle boots, swapping them for sandals, I take off my leather jacket, leaving only the white blouse, and I fluff my hair a little, and
"How do you eat a burger?" I ask Aidan, who is eating it with a knife and fork."Like this." He answers confused, "How do you eat a burger?"I hold the burger with my two hands. "Like this." I take a big bite. He puts down his knife and fork. Rich people do super weird things. Who eats a burger with a knife and fork?He picks up the burger, and takes a huge bite. He puts the burger back on his plate. Sauce is spread all over his face. I giggle."You have sauce everywhere." I smile and point to the red blotches of tomato sauce on his face. He take his serviette and tries to wipe it, but he just makes it ten times worse as he spreads it everywhere. I shake my head. "Let me help you."He smirks. I take my own serviette and wipe his face. "Thanks."I smile. I pull my textbook out my bag again."Alright. Giv
I check my watch. Aidan and I had a really nice lunch. I would now call us friends. I learnt a lot more about him that I didn't know before, and he learnt a lot about me, and the life of a medical student. Aidan dropped himself off at the office again and then gave me my keys back to my car.I have to get ready for tonight, as I am going on a date with my boyfriend, Kevin. We met in a Varsity, when he was studying an engineering degree, and I was studying medicine. I smile as I walk into my bedroom, and look at the framed pictures of him and I. There is a picture of us sharing ice cream, where our noses are both dotted with chocolate ice cream. Another captures the moment of us kissing on New Year's Eve. However, my all time favourite, is one with me and him when we are playing in the snow. I am on his back and he is looking up and me, laughing, while I am looking at the camera with a wide smile. It captures one my most precious memories of him
The next morning, I stop by Starbucks to buy Diether and myself a coffee. When I have them, I quickly make my way to the office. I knock on Aidan's office door."Hey Gale. Come in." He already knows it's me. I knock the same knock every morning.I open the door carefully and walk inside, closing the door behind me. Aidan is dressed in a beautiful navy blue suit again, his hair neatly done and finally, his smirk which could melt a girl's heart into a thousand pieces.I smiled and place his coffee in the desk."Thanks." He says and sips it, "How did you know that I like this exact one?""Good guess." He raises an eyebrow, "I'm joking. I like the same drink, so I just ordered you the same. I didn't actually know what you like. However," I wiggle my eyebrows, "I know now."
The next morning, i get changed into running shorts, a sports bra and nikes. I tie my hair back, and plug my earphones in. I grab my water bottle, and head out for a jog.I pass the park where I grew up and run to my parents house.I reach their house in an hour. I ring the doorbell breathless. The gate opens and I run quickly inside."Hey Kiddo!" My Dad waves. He is working on his car again. He loves his cars a lot."Hey Dad." I run up to him and give him a hug. "Working on Firsty again?" I ask referring to the car. He smiles."Yup." He takes a spanner and winds it around. "Mom's is in the kitchen. She wanted to make muffins for our favourite doctor.""Sweet. Thanks Dad." I hug him again and jog inside the house."Hey Gale." My Mom says taking muffins out
I nod my parents goodbye and jog back home. I welcome the smell of my own home. I walk inside and make myself a sandwich, my phone rings."Hey baby." Kevin answers."Hey handsome." I bite my lip."Hey gorgeous. I'm coming to fetch you earlier tonight. I want to spend more time with you okay?" He says. I laugh."Alright. What time?""In an hour, is that okay baby?" He suggests."Yeah." He puts down the phone. I run up the stairs and quickly shower. Finally I throw on black jeans, a pink shirt and black nikes.I heard sounds and I grab my purse. I run outside and climb into the car."Hey beautiful." He says and we drive off.He drives and stops the car."Why are we stopping here?" I ask."We aren't watchi
"So what about my job at the hospital?" I inquire."I've thought about that, and I think that it would be a good idea if you quit your job and move with me in England. We are getting pretty serious. After all, we are going to start a family one day. You won't have to work then, as the job offers good pay, good enough for us to live in luxury. Gale, we are raising a family. What more could you need?" He squeezes my hand again. Hurt and disbelief rush through me."I haven't worked my butt off for seven years for nothing! How can you just expect me to just gather up my things and rush out after you? Yes, I want a family. I want kids of my own, but I'm still young. I have worked like a freaking dog this year, trying to pass my exams, I have had to get a bloody second job to pay of my student loan for goodness sake. I can't just up and leave all this! Quit my job, leave my family, I might as well chuck my degree in the dustbin,
It's beautiful. It is a flpping huge mansion. Theo squeals in awe, "Look at it mommy! It;s so big! Even bigger than our house!" I smile at how cute he is. I park in the drive. I unbuckle him ffrom his car seat and grap his bags. I take his hand and lead him to the front door. "Is this Mr. Boss man's house?" He asks. "No. This is his mommy and daddy's house. We are coming to visit them and Mr. Boss Man." I smile silly to myself as I think about his innocent made uo nickname. The doorb opens to reveal a causally dressed Aidan. I realise now that I forgot to change. The hassle of having a child. I have a grey beanie on, a pink sweater, and on top of that, a black jacket, and finally blue jeans, whick are paired with some high heeled boots. Aidan has cancelled the dress thing because as it gets colder, the more impossible it becomes to keep waem in a dress. Nevertheless, the whole high heel thing became worse. He is now forcing me to wear six inches, He pulls me in for a hug. "H
Christmas seems to be approaching very quickly. I bought Theo a moving train set, which we will place around his room because he absolutely adores them. i also bought him a little bicycle, which doesnt have any pedals on it, but heh as to make it move nu pushing his lgegs on the floor. i ahv already wrapped up all his presents because his little prying eyes seems to discover things they shouldnt. he likes opening cupboards. I have ha to child- proof the entire hourse, and yet his little fingers still seeem to get into things. He loves climbing as well. I ahave found him on the kitchen countertops, where he balled his eyes out becauese he got stuck.I grab my bag, throw on a beanie, and find Theo. "let's go. I need to get one last present for my boss. Do you want to come?" I smile. He nods eagerly. "Alright. Let's go then." I smile. "What are we going to buy, Mom?" He asks. "I'm thinking about a new watch. he loves them." I explain. Theo nods eagerly in the back seat. "Just like he
As I walk into the office, and I finally manage not to stumble. I have almost mastered the art of working in heels. It's learnt skill. Today, Aidan made me wear high heeled boots, and a turtle neck dress which is actually really pretty. It's navy blue, and the ankle boots match perfectly. They are actually really pretty. It's flippon cold outside though, so I have a coat on, along with a scarf. i sit down and busy myself with my work. i was just about to call back another company who had asked for an appointment, when I am interrupted. "You must ne Gale." A voicded says and my head snaps upwards. It's Airah Fosters. Aidan's sister. i smile. "The one and only!" I grin. "You must be Airah. Congratulations on your wedding!" I smile and stand up to work over to her. The resemblance between the Johnsons siblings is undeniable. Airah is a female version of Aidan. She is shorter though, and more petite, while Aidan is more well built and towers over me. Her blue eye
"Hello Sleepy head. I've gone out with Airah for lunch. If you need me, you know what to do - G" I write, and draw a smiley face, and out it on his laptop. I grab my bag. put my beanie on my head and head out. It's starting to snow outside. Airah smiles and leads me to her car. It's a gorgeous red Mclaren. I hop into the front passenger's seat. "What about David?" I ask. "He's got his own car." She smiles and we drive off. I don't think that it is such a good idea to drive with her in the car, because she's technically a racing driver. Which might not be such a bad thing. If she is a racing driver, that mean he reaction time must be insane. However, she drives extremely fast as she speeds through the traffic, but, she seems to be a really good driver so I don't say anything. She bursts out laughing. "What?" I ask. Airah just laughs harder, and looks in her review mirror. "You should see your face! You are nervous aren't you? Especially since I
"The thought of settling down scares me." He pauses, "I guess doing, Er... what I do, it just makes me feel that I won't ever have to settle down. I still have a chance to live out my life and not have to be tied down by someone. Doing this, it makes sure that i don't meet her, that it won't ever go further than a one day thing, that I won't find her, and that I can stay free and not have to worry about whether she will leave me alone or hurt me. I can't do that to myself. I can't put myself through losing her. I don't want to take the risk, and plus, I will never be good enough for her, whoever she would be. She deserves so much better than me." He admits. I soften. I never knew he had that side. I thought he would come up with a stupid answer like "Its fun" or "I just haven't found the right one yet." I'm beginning to like him a lot more, that is until he added, "However, I am also Aidan Johnson. Player, smoking hot billionaire. I can get any girl I set my sight on. Why shouldn't?
“The Tuba.” He answers.“Seriously? If you could play any instrument you would play the tuba?” I burst out laughing. Aidan joins me and nods.“This lasagna is seriously fantastic. I can’t remember the last time I have had home cooked lasagna.” He comments interrupting me. I look at him sadly. That’s sucks. While it might be great to have chefs at home, I don’t think I could stand not having my mom’s delicious chicken pie, or her delicious pancakes. I think there are lot benefits to growing up rich, but not having a home cooked meals is not one of them. I shake my head.“Okay. Last two questions.” He smiles, interrupting me from my thoughts.“Alright. You ask first.” I urge. Aidan shakes his head and takes another bite of the lasagna.“Nope. Ladies ask first.” He argue and I sigh.“You have to argue with everything don’t you? And that i
“Gale Armstrong has completed her degree in Medicine with a diploma. Congratulations on this great achievement and all your hard work! We will see you at the graduation ceremony on Wednesday Morning.” He reads. I squeal. I did it! I had done it! I had passed my degree! Aidan looks at me excitedly.“You did it, Armstrong!” He smiles, looking a little sad.“Hey, why are you sad?” I slap his arm. “I passed my degree! You can get rid of my smart ass!”“That’s the thing, Gale. I don’t want to get rid of your smart ass.” He says sincerely. My eyes widen.“Naah. I get on your nerves!” I brush away his confession.“You might, but I still don’t want to get rid of you!” He admits, grinning, “But only because I will have to hire another useless assistant who can’t do anything except sit there and look pretty.”“I did more than j
“Hey! Just what do you think you are doing? Driving my car?” I ask as I get into the passenger’s seat. “Where is your car?”“I believe that the guy should always drive around the girl. Not because she can’t drive or anything, but because I can hold her hand as my other hand is on the steering wheel.” He explains. I never saw Aidan like this. He’s so romantic. It’s so sweet actually. Really sweet. &nb
I walked into Aidan’s office. He is sitting behind his desk, looking bored. I smirk. This is my chance to tempt him. “You want to kiss someone don’t you? Are you getting your player urges? It’s the withdrawals I’m telling you. Well, if you want to feel better, go ahead! I totally understand!” I tease interrupting him from his thoughts. I smile innocently, as he narrows his eyes. “Sweetheart, I bet that you
