Someone is after Autumn, thankfully Domenic got there just in time to save her but something tells me this won't stop here. Stay tuned, comment and vote.
I was asleep in Domenic's arms when the crunching sound and the sun coming throw the window woke me up. I lifted my head from his chest and rubbed my eyes, when I opened them I saw Summer sitting in the chair eating pretzels and scrolling on her phone. "What are you doing here?" I say but she doesn't lift her head from the phone, then I notice she has headphones in. I wave my hand in her direction and she lifts her head. "You're awake, thank God." She says as she takes the headphones out. "How are you feeling?" She whispered as Domenic was still asleep. "I'm fine, when did you come here?" I look at the time on my phone as Domenic starts stretching in bed. "A few minutes ago, I didn't see Domenic text until this morning but I rushed over here the second I saw it." I sit up as Domenic opens his eyes and stretches his arms above his head. "I texted her after you fell asleep, otherwise she would have killed me." He says as he sits up as well. Domenic kisses me and then gets out of be
"Ahh, finally at home." Summer said as she took off her shoes and jumped on the couch, I did nothing today but all the waiting was exhausting. How long can it take to read one blood work exam? "I can't wait to take a shower. What time is Anthony coming over?" I ask as I join her on the couch and she glances at the watch on her hand. "At six, you have time. Besides we have to wait for Domenic to bring the food, I'm starving." She says as she places her hands over her stomach. "Where is he anyway? How long can that meeting last he's been gone since this morning and hasn't even called to check up on me." God am I becoming toxic or what? I check my phone and still nothing. Stop it, Autumn, you are being paranoid beacuse of all the recent events. "Maybe Dad sent him to do an assignment, brace yourself because it happens often. My dad thinks Domenic is always on call." "I'm so used to him calling or texting that it just feels weird not to hear from him. I'm gonna at least text him and l
We were all having dinner and talking about Anthony's and Summer's new restaurant, trying to find a suitable name it would carry. "Why don't you just follow my lead and call it "The Restaurant" people might think it's retro." I regretted it the second it left my mouth. "Or not." I say as I pick up the salad with my fork. "I want something that would stand out." Summer said before taking a sip of wine from her glass. "I want it to have the same effect "Sarabia" has, but without having people think I copying my brother." "No one would think you are copying me, if anything you could take it as free advertisement." Domenic added but I saw on Anthony's face he didn't like it. "No offense Domenic, I know you mean well but it is important for me that this restaurant becomes a success without third parties involved." This restaurant is Anthony's dream, he has been planning it ever since I met him. Starting a business is hard I should know, you don't just want to make ends meet but to take
Friday rolled in and I was coming back to Domenic's apartment with the gift I got for Summer. Actually, I made her one, I had Domenic bring my canvas and paints to his apartment so I could make Summer a painting. But after hearing she never had a dog I went to a dog shelter and picked up a German shepherd pup. Initially, I was thinking of getting her a small dog but the second I saw his big brown eyes I was sold and I know she will be too. I carried it in a dog traveler and I stuck a big red bow on it. When I opened the apartment door I could immediately smell the food Anthony was preparing and could hear him and Domenic chatting in the kitchen."Hey guys, come in here." I say as I pass through the hallway leaving my jacket on the hanger as I enter the living room."What did you do?" Domenic asked me while he pointed at the pup I was carrying."Come on, hear me out she never had a dog so I thought..." He held up his hand in the air so I would stop talking as both of them walked behind
"What do you mean you can't find Summer?" I ask surprised. "Did you call her?" Stupid question. "That was the first thing I tried when I woke up but her phone was turned off so I went to her room and she was not there." Domenic walks away from me nervously. "Umm, have you tried Anthonys room?" I don't want to imply they slept together but chances are they did and we are here worrying for nothing. "I already checked nobody there and his phone goes to voicemail." He says as he tries calling his phone again. I walk toward him and place my hand on his chest to calm him down. "Let me get dressed and I'll help you look, ok? Sit down and wait for me here." I take the first thing I find in my suitcase and throw it on me before going to the reception with Domenic. "Hello. Hi, we are looking for the two people who came here with us, Summer Davis Jones and Anthony Elston." I show the woman their pictures on my phone as Domenic paces on the spot behind me. "Oh yes, the newlyweds. They are in
The car pulled up next to a fountain in front of a big mansion. I've only seen houses like this in movies, with a butler and servants waiting by the door as we arrived. Domenic took my hand and guided me in as Summer and Anthony walked behind us. "Mr. Davis, your father is waiting for you in the dining room." The butler said then proceeded to walk in front of us. We walked with our figures intertwined and took glances at each other, as we came closer to what I assumed would be the dining room we heard voices and laughter. Even tho his father was an older man with hair and a beard grey as ash, I could see Domenic's facial features on his father's face. He was dressed formally in a black suit with a white collar and a red scarf wrapped around his neck as he smoked a cigar. But the last person I imagined seeing today was Alice, but she was here drinking wine and talking with Domenic's father. It was obvious he enjoyed her company but his face changed as he saw us come in. Domenic drew
"You don't need to sell it." Domenic argued with Summer because she wanted to sell the apartment he gave her as a present. "Need I remind you Dad cut me off. I moved in with Anthony so I dont really need that apartment but what I do need is money so I can help Anthony open up the restaurant." Summer was handling this situation better than I could have imagined. She was in love and ready to take on the world with her husband. The sudden cut in her budget didn't scare her, she was determent to make it work. "Your brother is right sweety, you dont have to sell anything, as far as the restaurant is concerned I have everything covered." Anthony said on the other side of the kitchen island as he poured us a glass of wine while we sat and ate. "I want to help, and like I said we dont need that apartment." She said as she fed him a piece of meat from her fork. "Why dont you hold on to the apartment just a little longer, it's always good to have some real estate. Just look at me, it's a go
"Leo." I said shocked as I looked at his face as his arms rested around my waist. We both looked after the car that was about to hit me but it was already too far to see the plates."Autumn, are you ok? Did you get hurt?" Leo asked as he slowly realized me from his embrace."Yes, I'm fine. Thanks to you Leo, you saved me." After how we left things and the time I hadn't seen him, having him in front of me felt good despite the circumstances. "What is going on Autumn, why is the cafe in this state?" Leo asked as he pointed to the broken windows."Someone vandalized it but I don't want to talk about that." I say as I look at my friend, his ginger hair is longer and his normally shaved face now has a beard forming. "Where have you been Leo, I wanted to talk with you about what happened." His eyes dodge mine for a moment and can feel him hesitate but this time I'm not letting him leave."Why don't we go sit somewhere, have a coffee, and talk? We owe it to all the years we've been friends.
