Alex's POV

I couldn't sleep all night.

I just stared at my hand, the same one Adam was holding. It looked like he didn't realize how long he was holding it, but I was. I was aware of every second, and I prayed for the moment to last forever. I wanted to believe the things Enzo had said to me. That deep down Adam cared for me, more than he realized. But yet again, even after I asked him again... as I tried to play at his so-called jealousy of Enzo he still denied it.

He was preoccupied with Autumn. Sure she wasn't in a good spot, her ex showing up out of the blue must have rocked her. But it seemed it also rocked Adam.

I feel like I need a break from everything again. When he was gone, searching for her I thought for a moment I was feeling better. The distance made everything easier and for a second there I thought there was an actual possibility of letting this dream go. But I was wrong. His return was all it took for me to get under his spell again.
