Nothing, absolutely nothing in my life has ever felt so right. Right now, this moment, Alex is in my arms, her lush lips against mine. There was nothing soft or tentative about it, it was driven by passion, desire, and love. It was love that made this feel so whole, so complete it made the rest of the world around us fade away as I drove Alex back into the wall making sure there was no escape. The kiss was hot and electric sending my heart into overdrive as I could hear its beating in my ears along with Alex's moans and silent fighting for the air we both were able to catch in the middle of our lips breaking and connecting. She tasted sweet, like caramel as my tongue brushed against her not giving us a chance to break as my hand never left her neck making sure we stayed close.Yet it didn't seem enough to me, I wanted more... I needed more. So I tried to scoop her up by the thighs, wanting to feel her wrapped around me but Alex caught my arms and pushed me back. She searched my eye as
"I dont believe you. The Alex I know would never kick me out of her life like that." Nor would I allow it to happen, I refuse to live a life where she isn't a part of it. Because there isn't life without her, ever my earliest memories of life are filled with her. Without it, I lose myself. "You obviesly aren't listening to me. I told you that Alex is no longer here. Even before you left for NY I decided to change, and it's not about you... it's about me. I want to go back to the place where my every decision didn't revolve around you, back before I got the stupid idea to fall in love with you. Back when I was happy, when I was free when I was able to have fun and not care about a man." Alex talks but she doesn't look at me anymore, she looks around the room as she taps on each of her small, delicate, pale fingers as she makes a point in her speech. It's almost as if she had this exact conversation beforehand in her head and she finally got the opportunity to let it all out."You can b
Walking out of Alex's apartment yesterday was hard. I went there with only one purpose, to get the love of my life. The wasted time, the opportunities that were missed, all the signs that were there all these years ignored, how big I screwed up. And I only had myself to blame. But the more I thought about it I realized what it was, the fear we both probably had. If we said anything and the other didn't feel the same it would ruin the friendship we had not to mention the connection with Sasha and the rest of the family. I just hate that my mother didn't confront me about my feelings sooner. How pathetic I am, I even found a way to blame my mother. Like that would ever get by in court.Autumn is coming home today, it's not that I needed an excuse to be there but I knew Aunt Eloise would do anything to bring her family together so Alex would have to be there whether she liked it or not. I got to the house and I wanted to wait inside but Mrs.Hendrics kept a really close eye on me and Alex
..."Do you need help carrying her?" Richard asked Domenic as he took Autumn in my hands to carry her up the stairs. "No need, I got her," Domenic said as he continued walking up as Richads eyes set on me. "Adam, a word, please. In my office." He said as he turned and walked knowing I dont have much choice but to follow him. I enter the office as Richard pores two glasses of whisky and slides one across the table toward me before sitting down. "You know that ever since Alex's and Sasha's father passed away I took it upon myself to fulfill that role, to watch over them. Especially over Alex..." He says as he takes a sip. "With that being said, what the hell was that I saw at the table?" I didn't know if he was angry but what was sure is that he was not happy either."I'm in love with Alex." I blurb out. "And I know that must come to you as a shock because there was a tiny moment of confusion where there might of been a misguided intention to be with Autumn... which I know was very v
Alex's POVHe got me back in my bedroom squealing like a little girl. I was furious, his touch was doing to my body what I always imagined he would, drive me crazy. Not that I necessarily imagined him touching me under the table while my family was around but Adam knows how to be resourceful and he knew perfectly well that in that situation I wouldn't be able to react. I waited for something like this to happen for years, God knows how many times I dreamed about it and how hard I wished for it. How ironic is it that exactly when I decide to try and leave him behind something like this happens. It almost makes me wish Ive given up sooner. Our first kiss happened when I least imagined it, but it was by far greater than any fantasy or any expectation I ever had. It felt like an explosion of fireworks that only left me wanting more, thank God for the little pride I had left that made me able to resist him. Even if I wanna give in the doubt would eat at me. I can't trust his feelings when
I can't believe I'm about to hide a man in my room from my mother. I didn't do that even when I was a teenager, but this situation with Adam is complicated enough that there is no need to bring her into it. "Just a moment!" I yell as I get out of Adam's embrace and look around trying to decide if I should make him go out on the balcony or stuff him into the closet. "Come here," I whisper as I take his hand and lead him into my closet. "I swear if you so much as breath loudly I will end you," I say as I close the closet door and rush to unlock the door. "Yes, Mom," I say as I stand at the door thinking that would keep her out but I was very wrong. "Since when do you lock your door?" She asks again."I dont know, I didn't realise I did it. Did you need something?" I asked as I positioned myself casually in front of the closet. "I wanted to ask you to stay home, you made it a habit to stay at the apartment lately but with Autumn now home I think it's better we all stay together." No
... "Who the fu*k is Marcello?" If this was Adam jealous, I hate to admit that there is a part of me that likes it. "A friend," I say in a tone that might lead him to believe otherwise. "Alex dont go playing games with me. I hated Enzo even before I was able to understand my feelings for you, you have no idea the hatred another man could awaken in me if he so much as looks at you the wrong way. Even I still dont know just how far this love could take me if someone tries to steal it from me." I'd lie if I said that his words weren't getting to me even tho it was hard to focus on them when all I wanted now was to be crushed under his weight. "Dont worry Adam, no one can steal what isn't yours." I thought I was being smart, even funny. What I didn't count on was the flicker of something unknown in Adams's eyes as the words left my lips."Are you sure you're not mine?" Adam asks as he traces my neck with his cold fingure, over my collarbone down to my chest and my breast starts to rise
I do my best to fix my hair in the hallway as I walk quickly to Autumn's room not willing to risk Adam catching up with me. I knock on the door and shuffle the cards in my hands as I look behind me. "Come in." I hear Autumn's voice and I slowly open the door as Domenic fixes his hair with shues in one hand. "I hope I'm not disturbing you, I just wanted to see if you needed anything?" I closed the door and walked into the room. "You know your timing is impeccable. Would you stay with her and keep her company while I go into town to buy some things?" Domenic asked. "Yes no problem, take your time. I have no plans today. I was gonna hang out with Autumn anyways." I said as I showed them the deck of cards. "Now that she has no memories I may actually have a chance at winning." Domenic laughs as he looks at Autumn. Surly one look at him was enough to see he loved her very much. "Alright, I'll be back as soon as possible," Domenic says as he leans over the bed and gives Autumn a kiss.
...That night..."...so now we are not only friends and brothers-in-law but I had the privilege of being his best man. What he and Autumn have is special, anyone can see that, and all I can say is that I wish them both happiness. Also Autumn I'd like to ask your permission to take him out this Friday to play ball." Anthony jokes as he finishes his best man speech. I once heard of a so-called bromance Domenic and Anthony had pretty much ever since they met each other. Summer said she found it endearing. "As long as Summer gave you permission to go." Autumn hits Anthony with a comeback. "But Friday is a no-go, we have a Lamaze class," Autumn says as she touches Domenic's shoulder. "But you are free to join us," She added to which I started connecting the dots. Why Summer looked somewhat green on her face, why she didn't eat and why would she go to a Lamaze class..."That's a great idea." Summer says and Anthony looks at her strangely. "Why would we go to a Lamaze class?" He asks and A
Alex's POVI woke up with a smile on my face as the light of the day shined over my face. Despite the cold, I wrapped myself into a blanket and sat in the corner of my balcony, breathing in the familiar salty ocean air. I used to sit here and watch over the driveway, waiting for Adam's car to drive in, and while everything seemed the same, everything had changed. Now, we were together, dreaming about a future and enjoying the present. A day I once dreaded would never come was now here and the happines set in my chest could be painted in a million colours. I smiled to myself, thinking about how far I’d come. How we had come. With Adam, I had learned to be whole. I closed my eyes, letting the wind brush across my face, and took a deep breath. The salty air mixed with the faint scent of coffee surrounded me too and I suddenly opened my eyes to meet Mrs.Henrdics standing at the balcony door with coffee in hand."Good morning." She says as she walks over to me and hands me to warm cup. "I
"How is Autumn?" Eloise asks us as soon as we walk in leaving her cup of tea on the living room table."She is alright, as is the baby. They are gonna keep her overnight. Domenic stayed behind but I think Richard and Sasha will go home soon." I say as her eyes travel to the spot where Alex and I are holding hands when my mother comes to stand by Eloise. The smile on her face told me everything I needed to know."So... the two of you..." Eloise gestures between Alex and me. "How long has this been going on?" She asks."A while now," Alex says. "And before you start, it was my idea to keep it a secret. I didn't want our families involved before we were sure of where this was going." "I think that was very sensible of you." My mother says as she joins the conversation. "So now that you are sharing the news does it mean it's official?" "But they didn't share the news, they were discovered in a secret. There is a clear distinction." Eloise says.Alex laughs softly at Eloise’s comment, squ
"How is she? Can I see her?" Domenic asks as he jumps to get to him before everyone else. "Miss Cromwell is fine, she and the baby girl are stable. Her blood pressure went up which caused her to faint. I'm going to recommend bed rest until the baby gets here to avoid any possible complications." The doctor says and one could see and feel the worry melt off of our backs. "Did you talk to her? Did she remember anything? Is that why she had the crisis?" Richard asked as I stepped back and took Alex to my side wrapping my hand around her, keeping her close. Perhaps it wasn't the right moment but being able to hold her in public gave me a sense of power I never had before. "We talked for a brief moment and she described to me what happened, all the excitement of the wedding and the events that happened after took a toll on her, but she remains not remembering the past." We listen as the doctor talks and Alex smiles. We didn't care about the memories so much anymore. Autumn was alright
"What happened?" Richard yells as he runs to Autumn's side, almost crushing down at the site of her unconscious body in Domenic's hands. "I'm so sorry... I didn't think..." Rachel said as she watched what her words caused. "What did you do?" Richard asks her with fury in his eyes but Rachel only stares at Autumn in shock while Leo does the best he can to hold on to her. "Help is on its way!" Alex yells as she comes back and sticks to my side. Her hands are cold as they slip into mine. I wasn't sure if it was from the cold or from the situation that was in front of us with both Autumn and Sasha. "Dont wait. Get her in the car and drive to the hospital. I'll go with you and make sure they take good care of her." My dad says as he helps Richard stand up and move away from Autumn. Domenic lifts her in the air, and her veil falls down onto the floor. The sight was heartbreaking, this day turned out to be everything but perfect. First Alice, now this. I just hope it doesn't get any wo
Miguel jumps at Alice, grabbing her hand while the other guy manages to take the gun from her, ultimately pinning her to the ground when Alex pulls me back as the rest of the family gets up and gathers up at the front. “Let go of me, I'm not done yet!” Alice yells as she struggles to free herself but to no use as Miguel ties her hand to her back. “It's over Alice, it's finally over. You won't be able to hurt us ever again.” Domenic says as he presses Autumn to his side while Miguel lifts Alice, her hands pinned at her back. “Take her to the security room and call the police. She won't escape this time, not on my watch.” Richard says while rubbing Autumn's shoulder, trying to make sure she is ok. She look pale, shook but somewhat alright. She held onto Domenic the same way Alex didn't let go of my hand all this time. “He is lying to you, everyone is…” Alice says but Miguel drags her away. She was trying to do damage to the last second she could use. So much haterade in such a s
I always found weddings to be beautiful, yet this one was special. This was about my friend, someone who I knew would always be in my life, but I somehow knew that from the day I met her. Now sitting here, watching the smile on her face as she stared at the face of her loved one, the man she chose yet again despite every odd, despite not knowing the past. A path she chose solely based on what she felt within herself, and that was love. I had my doubts about it, I had my doubts about Domenic... the things I knew about their past, the things I didn't share with anyone else, not Alex, not Richard... I saw the regret in his eyes, I saw the pain but I also saw the love... and I wish them happiness. The same one I wished for myself and the woman who was sitting next to me right now. My love. My Alex. Today wasn't just the start of a new life for Autumn, this was also the day that meant something big for Alex and me. This was the day we would finally stop hiding. The day everyone would final
"Adam, where the hell were you? We are going to be late and you still haven't changed." Mom yells at me as soon as I step through the door. "I had some business to take care of. Dont worry I'll be ready in time." "Business, on a day like this one." Mom asks, her nad on her hip and eyebrow raised scepticly. "You look great by the way, where is Dad? You should go check he doesn't get something on his suit before we have to leave... I'll go shower now, bye." I manage to ramble up and run upstairs to get ready. Luck had it that Rosie had already got my clothes ready and waiting for me on the bed so I showered, got my hair ready, and got dressed just as a text came for me letting me know Derek was booked and taken care of. One more reason to party. ... "See, there was no reason for all that rushing. I had plenty of time to finish my meal." Dad said as we got out of the car at the Cromwell mention. It’s the perfect place for a wedding...grand, romantic, and more than enough to make an
Adam's POV Autumn's wedding day... Out of everything I could imagine myself doing on my friend's wedding day, walking into an old closed underground parking lot was not one of them but the situation called for it. After my contacts in the police did their investigations they brought to my attention that as I suspected this wasn't Derek's first rodeo at stalking a woman who bore a resemblance to his ex. It went so far that he got a red stamp on his passport preventing him from ever entering England again after stalking a prime minister's daughter. Boy sure likes to play in the big leagues. Now I didn't have the power to expel him from America but I had enough to put him behind bars. Yet first I wanted to have a little chat with him... for that, I used the side connections that I as a lawyer swore I would never usebut for Alex, there isn't a line in this world I wouldn't cross. After walking through the dark I approached the spot with a light that handed over Derek's head while he wa
