John's POV

Matt was afraid, I could see it from how his expression looked, like that of one who had seen a ghost, but I remained so at ease and relaxed. I had nothing to worry about. I just wore a soft smile on my face as I watched them drown in their fears.

I heard footsteps coming closer to the door until it stopped. Matt's personal bodyguard didn't hesitate to shoot at the door immediately.

After he stopped shooting, I saw blood slowly flow through the door, and then I heard the thud of a body on the ground. We all presumed that the man had died, so his bodyguard went ahead to have a look.

He opened the door, and immediately, he was shot dead, leaving Matt as the only man remaining. My trusted bodyguard, Parker, was the man behind the door.

He walked in immediately, and the remaining security personnel followed immediately. They handcuffed Matt, while Parker had me released from the chain. My plans had all plated out perfectly.

I had planned to hand Matt over to the police, which w

Sarah's POVI could hear muffled noises and groans from John's room. I felt so uneasy and uncomfortable sitting back and listening to John make all the noises. So I got up from the bed quickly and rushed to his room. I pushed the door open, and I found him breathing heavily and sweating profusely as well.I looked around in his room, but I couldn't find anybody lurking around in his room. It was only his personal bodyguard who had come to and checked on him.Without waiting for his permission, u slowly walked into his room while watching each step I took towards him.I took a seat next to him on his really enormous bed and tried to pull closer to him, but he stopped me. “What is this all about?” he asked with so much uncertainty and curiosity displayed all over his face.“I feel you need a rest. Come, let me rub your head a bit” I said. I didn't know I had gotten so courageous to talk to him. I mean, I needed a fortune teller to tell me what had happened to him. The look on his face s

John's POVSarah was able to make me fall asleep. Her hands did the magic, and I must commend her for that. But my sleep was cut short by the security alarm. That alarm only goes on when the security in the house has been breached. As I was still trying to process the alarm, I heard a knock on my door. I was forced to stand up from my bed and order him to come in. “We have a problem, sir. We just caught somebody trying to kidnap Sarah, sir” Parker brought the news to me. That news came as a great shock to my nerves. I had to wonder how he was able to enter this house and how he was able to get his hands on Sarah. But there was only one way to find out.I grabbed my shirt and followed Parker as he led me to where they had kept the man. We entered my sitting room, and I found Sarah shaking in terrible fear, and on the ground was the man who had attempted the attack.“Take him to the basement,” I said. They did so immediately, and I followed him down to the basement. This was a busines

John's POVI found it hard to believe what I heard . “Please, I'd love you to go through your records again. Something must be wrong somewhere” I said politely. The correctional officer obliged and went through the records again and still didn't come up with any good news.I had to accept the fact that Matt didn't make it to prison. He had proven to me that he was a really hard nut to crack. I returned back home, fully aware that a man who would kill me if he certainly had the chance was out there.“You look very worn out,” Sarah said as she walked into the sitting room. I was sipping a glass of wine, I had a lot going on in my head.“I am fine,” I replied. My reply was a definite and short one. I didn't want to engage in any conversation with her.“Talk to me, you look really stressed” she made an attempt to come close to me, but I quickly stopped her hand and restricted her from touching me.“I told you I was fine. I guess you need to return to your room. I am giving you a last warn

Sarah's POVRosaline took care of my bath . She took care of my makeup and other things she needed to do. “Why are you doing all this? It's a freaking ball for crying out loud” I said. The makeup and everything was getting really intense, and it was taking quite a really long time. Though the makeup was not a thick one, she made sure she took her time on it.“The boss had strictly instructed me to take my time,” she replied. I guess I didn't hear something right.“You mean he had you do all these. So, technically this is a big event” I said.“He did not mention that, but I guess it is,” she replied. She helped me put on a beautiful red ball gown that John had provided. I flaunted my body before the mirror, admiring how beautiful I looked on the gown.“I love it,” I giggled. Rosaline just stood behind me with a smile on her face. I could read the words behind that smile. She accompanied me as I gorgeously walked down the stairs while slowly approaching the sitting room. As I walked int

Sarah's POVMy ear was temporarily blocked. I couldn't hear properly for a while as a result of the slap. John's expression gradually became filled with anger. He tapped the man on his shoulder, forcing the man to turn. John decided to approach the matter calmly.“Please sir, I would love you to apologise to my wife this minute” he said calmly. The young man who he was talking to looked at him with disgust and turned. The message was crystal clear. He was not ready to apologise for any reason.I knew that John wasn't going to take this lightly. He tapped the young man again, and this time, as the young man turned, he gave him a firm punch on his face. I covered my mouth as I watched in awe. I have never seen John in this mood before. He can be violent sometimes, but right now, he is fighting like he was protecting me. The young man he had punched already had a little blood coming out from his mouth. That was when I realised that the punch was a very heavy one.“Who do you think you a

John's POVShe looked very shocked to hear what I had just said. I was expecting such a reaction. I needed to get close to her and have some fun, so that was the first thing that came into my head. She would ask me a lot of questions if I had told her what I had in my mind.“You lied to me. Though I enjoyed it, let's not forget that you lied in order to get me to follow you,” she said.“Let's just forget the fact that I lied to you. You're a bad dancer, by the way. ” I was trying to create a serene environment for a very good discussion section.Personally, I had no explanation for what was going on. But the only thing I was sure of was that I felt relieved whenever I was having a good time with her.“No, you're not going to change the topic. I object. You felt I would not want to go out on a ball date with you if you asked?” She asked with a soft smile on her face. I have never seen Sarah in this mode before.“Can we just skip that part?” I asked politely. She looked at me for a whil

Sarah's POVThere he was, lying helplessly, in a pool of his own blood. The driver quickly rushed off his car to come and help him. The man who had stabbed John ran away and disappeared into thin air.“Do something please, be fast!” I lamented while pushing my hand on the place he was stabbed to reduce bleeding. His driver quickly called an ambulance, and they arrived in less than a minute.I followed him in the ambulance as they drove to the hospital. They pushed him in the bed as they rushed him into the emergency ward. I opted to follow him into the ward, but the medical officers asked me to wait outside.“Please ma'am, you'll have to wait at the reception. Let us do our work,” the doctor suggested. I was forced to return back to the reception, but my mind was filled with so much worry. I could not take a seat. I just kept pacing from one corner to another. Many thoughts kept going on in my head. Who are these people who keep on trying to hit on him? Will he be OK?For three hours,

John's POVIt was hard for me to understand how that attack came. I wasn't expecting it. I suspected that it could be a hitman sent by Matt. But I didn’t want to jump to conclusions. The pain that came from that knife stab was so much.“How are you feeling, Mr. Stones?” the doctor asked as he walked into the ward. He had come to check up on me. I was already feeling alright, and I really wanted to peace this damn sick bed.“I am fine doc” I replied. I was just waiting for the doctor to sign my discharge and let me leave this hospital.“I would love to leave tonight,” I said. This wasn't a request, I was just trying to make my leave formal.“You're OK, sir, but I would suggest that you stay here a little longer. We need to be sure that you're in good shape before you leave the hospital” he tried to convince me to remain in the hospital, but I already had my mind made up.“I was not making a request doc. I just told you that I will be leaving tonight. You don't have a choice. I have mad

Sarah's POVFinally! I felt it was a dream. Walking down the aisle and the sound of wind beside the beach. It was all a moment I could never forget. My heart's deepest wish was granted. John was finally my husband, and fully mine. Nobody had the right to come in between us. “You look gorgeous this morning, Mrs Stones,” John announced as he walked into the swimming pool section where I was busy having a trip down the sweet memories. He walked to where I sat and wrapped his hand around me as he sat behind me. We both kissed for a while and then looked into each other's eyes while we let out a soft smile. “How was your night?” I asked softly. “It was perfect. What more could be better than sleeping with the knowledge that you're now my wife,” he flattered. I giggled. “Stop flattering me, baby.” “As far as we're together, I can't stop flattering you,” he chuckled. “How long are we going to be in Paris?” I asked curiously. “Your maternity leave just began in Paris,” he replied

John's POVRaymond's wedding raised questions in Sarah's head. Judging from her body language, I could tell how desperate she was for me to start making plans for our wedding. “What are your plans for the wedding?” Raymond asked curiously. I was beginning to feel that these questions were all orchestrated by Sarah herself. Rosaline had come earlier with the same question, and her father too did the same thing. But I left all of them clueless. “Come clean. Did she send you to ask me?” I asked Raymon. “No. Chill out, dude. I am just curious to know what the big man is planning,” he said. I looked at him closely, trying to see if he was behaving suspiciously, but there was no sign towards that anyway. “I have plans. But Sarah is growing impatient by the day,” I replied. “You can't blame her. Her pregnancy is beginning to grow prominent by the day, and she really wants to tie the knot with you. Every woman wants to be at the altar with her fiancée,” he explained. “I get your po

Sarah's POVI had a little to ask my father. “You look so much like your mother when she was so young. Those eyes remind me of her loving heart,” my father said as he went down memory lane. “What happened between you two? Don't lie to me because she also told me that you both got into a really rough situation,” I said. He took a deep breath. “There's nothing to hide anyway. Yes, we both got into a bad situation, and it was all my fault.” His expression gradually changed into a very sad and moody one. “I was a jerk to her. Everything happened because of me anyway,” he continued. “What do you mean, dad?” I asked. “I used to beat her up for fun. Unfortunately, I did these when you were there. You would always make an attempt to defend her from me, but I will ignore you,” he explained. Tears had already started clouding up in his eyes, and I could see how remorseful he was for his actions. “It just felt like I couldn't stop. Like…something was pushing me,” he continued. “So, she

John's POVThe clue has been in my hands since, and I was ignorant about it. “How did you get this picture?” Sarah asked shockingly. “This… Come with me. We're going back to the correctional centre. I think I know who your father is,” I replied as we made a rush out of the house. “What are you talking about?” Sarah's confusion deepened. “Just follow me. Trust me,” I urged. It was still 6 pm, so there was a little window for us to gain access. “Good evening, sir. Please, we would love to see Louis,” I pleaded with the guard as we got into the correctional centre. “I am sorry, sir. We don't accept visitors by this time of the day,” he replied bluntly. “You need to understand, sir. This is very important,” I persisted. “Look, sir. I suggest that you please leave this place at once. Except you want to be meat for the night,” he said angrily. “Come on, man. Work with me. I could give you something in return,” I whispered. “Now you're talking. How much are we looking at?” His exc

Sarah's POVWe moved from prison to prison, searching for clues as to my father's whereabouts. But all we kept getting were negative replies. John was as frustrated as I was. But he wasn't ready to leave my side. “Good afternoon, sir. I am sorry we had to disturb your peaceful afternoon,” John said as we both walked into the warden's office. Edward was replaced by another warden, and he looked quite rigid. “I don't have a problem, as long as you guys make your visit fast,” he said with a baritone voice. “Oh, we are just here to ask you if you know about a man named Reese in this prison,” I said politely. “I am sorry, but that name hasn't been mentioned within these walls since I've been here,” He gave a straight reply without looking at our faces. “You could probably look at the records, I guess…” “You need to leave. I have provided the information you needed,” he interjected rudely. “Just give us a listening ear,” I said firmly. “Leave my office immediately. Silly humans

John's POVRaymond's news was the news I have been waiting for. Sarah's questions kept coming but I wasn't ready to answer them. “Just wait until we get to the station. You will see it for yourself,” I replied firmly. Immediately we got to the police station, I quickly rushed out of the car with Sarah and rushed into the building. “Where is he?” I asked desperately. Raymond quickly pointed towards the interrogation room. Without further hesitation, I quickly rushed into the interrogation room. I raged towards Johnson and gave him a firm punch to the face. It didn't end with one punch. I kept punching him over and over until Raymond rushed in and pulled me away from him. “Get yourself together, man. He isn't worth the stress,” he said. “Let me deal with him. He's the fault my fiancée is in all this pain and trauma. Her mother was supposed to be alive if not for that scum sitting there,” I yelled angrily while struggling to loosen Raymond's grip on me. “Calm your nerves man.

Sarah's POV After what happened with Rebecca the other day, I have been sick and worried about John. He has a lot of enemies, and you can't tell when he is going to get attacked again. I heaved a deep sigh of frustration as I used my right hand to massage my forehead. I was feeling a little bit stressed, and I sure could use a break. I have been working seriously these few days, and John warned me against that. “Do you need some rest, ma'am,” Grace said as she walked into my office unannounced. “You didn't knock? Do you think you can just walk in at will?” I asked angrily. “I am sorry, ma. I have been at it for a while now. I kept knocking, but you didn't give me any response,” she replied softly. “My bad. Maybe I didn't hear you. Gosh!! I have a lot of things going on in my head,” I lamented. “I am sorry ma'am. You need to have some rest. I can help you handle these emails. That is why I am your PA,” she suggested calmly. “You seem so nice. I guess I ha

John's POV“What's the update, man?” I asked as I walked into an abandoned warehouse. Raymond was able to catch one of the men who worked with Johnson. So we brought him in for a little interrogation. “We've been having a peaceful interrogation, but I can't get him to speak up,” he replied with blood over his fist. “Oh, come on, man. Don't you think you were a little bit hard in him. You should have started with some Russian manicure before beating him. I'm sure he would not withsatdn the pain of three fingers,” I said. Raymond smirked. “You remind me of the good old days.” “So, back to business. Where did he stop?” I said. The victim gave off muffled noises and screams as I approached him. Fortunately, we were able to get good information. He gave us his address, and Raymond didn't hesitate to call his friend who works for the LAPD. “Are you sure you trust this man to handle this situation?” I asked cautiously. “Yes, relax. He's nothing close to Johnson. He can be trusted,
