Sarah's POV

It was time for the next court hearing.

That's right! Another day for me to set my eyes on the man I love so dearly.

I haven't gotten the courage to forgive my mother for what she did to me.

She decided to work with my enemies in the guise that she had my best interest at heart.

“I've missed you so much,” I sobbed as I hugged John.

He looked better than the last time I saw him.

That was such an exciting form of relief for me anyway.

“I've missed you too, my love,” he replied with a soft smile as he looked into my tears filled eyes.

“How is your body? Do you have any injuries?” I asked worriedly while searching his body for any obviously fresh scars.

He giggled. “Calm down, darling. I am fine. Thanks to the warden, anyway.”

“The warden…What are you not telling…”

“Court Rise!!!”

That call placed a pause to the discussion they were having.

I was eager to hear what he had to say, but I just had to wait until the end of today's hearing.

John's POVIt was on everyone's face inside the restaurant. They had an unwavering hope. That hope they harnessed served as my courage as we walked back to court. As we walked into the courtroom, Sarah grabbed my hand tightly while clinging to my body, like a baby to its mother. The proceedings resumed with Russell calling out his witness. Rebecca was called out, and she slowly walked and sat in the confession stand. “Good day, Mr. Russell Williams,” Rebecca greeted seductively. It was a usual trait of hers anyway. She just enjoys behaving like a whore sometimes. “Greetings ma'am. I just have some questions to ask you. You're going to tell me the truth. Besides, you're under an oath,” Russell starred. Sarah grabbed my hand tightly as I felt her heart rate going up. Her face was a bit sweaty, and judging from the condition in the courtroom, I could tell she was very nervous. “Did you ever have a relationship with Mr. Stones?” he asked. “Yes, I did. I love to call him Big Joh

Sarah's POV “That's it. He expects you to walk into Charles’ house and get evidence that he runs an underground drug company,” I highlighted. John had arrived for the resumption of the court case today. The first proceedings had been taken in the morning, and we were getting ready for the next one after lunch. He explained to me everything that happened with the warden and his request to him as well. “I don't know what to do,” he sighed in deep frustration. “Besides, I have only until the next hearing to come back with the evidence.” “Do you trust him?” I asked. “What do you mean? I just met him. I can't just trust him,” he replied. “You'll figure it out. I trust you. But don't do anything rash. You definitely don't want to remain in jail for a long time,” I suggested. We both lost our appetites, so we left our foods unattended to, and returned back to the courtroom. Russell went ahead to call Charles out as a witness. John's POV It was quite a hectic day yesterday. At this point, I feel confused. I am supposed to meet with the warden today, but I don't seem to have come with a decision. “Mr. Stones, you have a call,” the guard announced. I was pulled out of my cell immediately. “Hello, Mr. Stones,” the voice on the phone said. “How may I help you,” I replied. “I believe Miss Sarah is your partner. She was admitted into our hospital after surviving from an accident,” she said. Coincidentally, news about the accident was displayed on the television. “Please, can I go and see my woman? Please,” I pleaded with the guard. I could feel my heaters trembling. I can't lose her like that. Did she survive? “Get your act together! The warden will live to see you immediately,” the guard ordered. He dragged me to the warden's office without hesitation. “Have you seen the news? My wife was involved in an accident. I need to pay her a visit,” I requested desperately. “Relax. Why don't you have a se

Sarah's POV“Mr. Stones. I guess I've given you a lot of time. It's fine to go,” Edward announced as he walked into the ward. He was just in time because John had already finished telling me about his plan. “You've done me a huge favour, sir,” I appreciated. “I hate saying goodbyes, but that is the case,” John said, placing a soft kiss on my forehead. John left with the warden immediately. I sighed in frustration as I sank on my bed. Pulling off John's plan alone wasn't going to be easy, but I have no choice. I love him so much, and this means a lot to us. I was discharged the following day, and my driver came along to take me back home. “Sarah, are you OK? I heard about the accident,” I met my mother at the entrance of the hospital. “Enough with the act, mum. I am ok. I have been discharged as well,” I replied bluntly. “Don't blame me for not coming since. You need to understand that I am going through a lot,” she lamented. “Mum, you got yourself into all of this. John's POVThe warden seemed quite suspicious. Everyone has a skeleton in their cupboard. But it looks like Edward has a big skeleton in his. “How did the case go? It must have been rough, judging from the look on your face,” Louis asked. “They're going to give the final judgement in three weeks' time,” I replied. “Sucks for you, I guess,” he said. “Yeah man. I need enough evidence to win this case,” I sighed in frustration. “How about you and the warden? You both seem to be so attached lately,” he asked curiously. I hesitated a bit. “He just found interest in me.” “But you seem troubled whenever he calls you into his office,” he added. “Louis, you've been in this prison for a long time. Can you tell me something that you have noticed about him?” I requested politely. “By ‘him’ you mean the warden?” “Yes.” I affirmed. “Mr. Edward Smith has been a crafty man since the day I saw him,” he explained. My instincts flared. “What do you mean?” “Edward is hard to understand. One

John's POVSurprised or shocked, I couldn't actually place my emotions at the moment. Why would the warden do something like that for me, right in public? Questions reeled through my mind, and I couldn't get answers to them. I didn't feel pity for the lifeless body next to me. All I cared about was what risks or threats this action could pose to the warden's job. After our meals, we were asked back to our cells by the guards. A few minutes later, I was interrupted by a guard who came into the cell to take me. “The warden wants you in his office right away,” he demanded. Left with no choice, I followed him as he led the way to his office. “Mr. Stones. The man of the game,” he smiled as I was ushered into his office. “You seem too excited for a man who just murdered a man down there,” I said shockingly. He smirked. “What's with the sudden act? I did it to save you. Besides, you can't deny that you're a torturer yourself.” I locked my gaze onto him as I took a seat. “What ar

Sarah's POVJohn's plan was certainly hard to pull off. What if I mess this up? What if it doesn't go as planned? A lot of questions reeled through my mind. It was barely two weeks until the final judgement, and I was certain that Charles had everything in his favour. On my way back from doing some grocery shopping, I decided to pay Mum a visit. We haven't been on good terms, but she has been trying to see if she can come to a term of unity with me. “Hey mum,” I announced my presence as I walked into her house. “Sarah, is that really you?” She says surprisingly as she saw me standing in the sitting room. Tears of joy started flowing through her eyes as she rushed to hug me. “I'm so happy to see you,” she said joyfully. “I won't say I am happy. But I guess I had a little change of mind. You deserve a chance,” I replied. “What do you want me to do in order to make things right?” she asked softly. “At this point, mum, I don't know. You took away a man I cherished,” I lamente

Sarah's POV“Hit it, we're running out of time. We don't have much time on our side,” I yelled. “I'm doing my best, ma'am,” he replied. “Just shut up and drive.” In no time, we got to the prison. I quickly rushed out of the car and ran towards the visitors section. “I'd love to see Mr. John Stones,” I requested urgently. My voice reeked with urgency and impatience. “The warden has strictly instructed that we should reject any visitors today, ma'am,” he replied. “You've got to be kidding. You know John, right? Ti's is urgent, please,” I pleaded. “I'm afraid there's nothing I can do,” he replied. “You need to…” “Leave now!” he instructed, his voice reeking with so much command. I observed the environment and realised that it wasn't so welcoming for me. This isn't a coincidence. This must be one of his plans, knowing that I would get to the truth eventually. I need to come up with a plan. Mum! I rushed out and went back into my car. “Let's go back to my mother's house,” I

Sarah's POVFinally! I felt it was a dream. Walking down the aisle and the sound of wind beside the beach. It was all a moment I could never forget. My heart's deepest wish was granted. John was finally my husband, and fully mine. Nobody had the right to come in between us. “You look gorgeous this morning, Mrs Stones,” John announced as he walked into the swimming pool section where I was busy having a trip down the sweet memories. He walked to where I sat and wrapped his hand around me as he sat behind me. We both kissed for a while and then looked into each other's eyes while we let out a soft smile. “How was your night?” I asked softly. “It was perfect. What more could be better than sleeping with the knowledge that you're now my wife,” he flattered. I giggled. “Stop flattering me, baby.” “As far as we're together, I can't stop flattering you,” he chuckled. “How long are we going to be in Paris?” I asked curiously. “Your maternity leave just began in Paris,” he replied

John's POVRaymond's wedding raised questions in Sarah's head. Judging from her body language, I could tell how desperate she was for me to start making plans for our wedding. “What are your plans for the wedding?” Raymond asked curiously. I was beginning to feel that these questions were all orchestrated by Sarah herself. Rosaline had come earlier with the same question, and her father too did the same thing. But I left all of them clueless. “Come clean. Did she send you to ask me?” I asked Raymon. “No. Chill out, dude. I am just curious to know what the big man is planning,” he said. I looked at him closely, trying to see if he was behaving suspiciously, but there was no sign towards that anyway. “I have plans. But Sarah is growing impatient by the day,” I replied. “You can't blame her. Her pregnancy is beginning to grow prominent by the day, and she really wants to tie the knot with you. Every woman wants to be at the altar with her fiancée,” he explained. “I get your po

Sarah's POVI had a little to ask my father. “You look so much like your mother when she was so young. Those eyes remind me of her loving heart,” my father said as he went down memory lane. “What happened between you two? Don't lie to me because she also told me that you both got into a really rough situation,” I said. He took a deep breath. “There's nothing to hide anyway. Yes, we both got into a bad situation, and it was all my fault.” His expression gradually changed into a very sad and moody one. “I was a jerk to her. Everything happened because of me anyway,” he continued. “What do you mean, dad?” I asked. “I used to beat her up for fun. Unfortunately, I did these when you were there. You would always make an attempt to defend her from me, but I will ignore you,” he explained. Tears had already started clouding up in his eyes, and I could see how remorseful he was for his actions. “It just felt like I couldn't stop. Like…something was pushing me,” he continued. “So, she

John's POVThe clue has been in my hands since, and I was ignorant about it. “How did you get this picture?” Sarah asked shockingly. “This… Come with me. We're going back to the correctional centre. I think I know who your father is,” I replied as we made a rush out of the house. “What are you talking about?” Sarah's confusion deepened. “Just follow me. Trust me,” I urged. It was still 6 pm, so there was a little window for us to gain access. “Good evening, sir. Please, we would love to see Louis,” I pleaded with the guard as we got into the correctional centre. “I am sorry, sir. We don't accept visitors by this time of the day,” he replied bluntly. “You need to understand, sir. This is very important,” I persisted. “Look, sir. I suggest that you please leave this place at once. Except you want to be meat for the night,” he said angrily. “Come on, man. Work with me. I could give you something in return,” I whispered. “Now you're talking. How much are we looking at?” His exc

Sarah's POVWe moved from prison to prison, searching for clues as to my father's whereabouts. But all we kept getting were negative replies. John was as frustrated as I was. But he wasn't ready to leave my side. “Good afternoon, sir. I am sorry we had to disturb your peaceful afternoon,” John said as we both walked into the warden's office. Edward was replaced by another warden, and he looked quite rigid. “I don't have a problem, as long as you guys make your visit fast,” he said with a baritone voice. “Oh, we are just here to ask you if you know about a man named Reese in this prison,” I said politely. “I am sorry, but that name hasn't been mentioned within these walls since I've been here,” He gave a straight reply without looking at our faces. “You could probably look at the records, I guess…” “You need to leave. I have provided the information you needed,” he interjected rudely. “Just give us a listening ear,” I said firmly. “Leave my office immediately. Silly humans

John's POVRaymond's news was the news I have been waiting for. Sarah's questions kept coming but I wasn't ready to answer them. “Just wait until we get to the station. You will see it for yourself,” I replied firmly. Immediately we got to the police station, I quickly rushed out of the car with Sarah and rushed into the building. “Where is he?” I asked desperately. Raymond quickly pointed towards the interrogation room. Without further hesitation, I quickly rushed into the interrogation room. I raged towards Johnson and gave him a firm punch to the face. It didn't end with one punch. I kept punching him over and over until Raymond rushed in and pulled me away from him. “Get yourself together, man. He isn't worth the stress,” he said. “Let me deal with him. He's the fault my fiancée is in all this pain and trauma. Her mother was supposed to be alive if not for that scum sitting there,” I yelled angrily while struggling to loosen Raymond's grip on me. “Calm your nerves man.

Sarah's POV After what happened with Rebecca the other day, I have been sick and worried about John. He has a lot of enemies, and you can't tell when he is going to get attacked again. I heaved a deep sigh of frustration as I used my right hand to massage my forehead. I was feeling a little bit stressed, and I sure could use a break. I have been working seriously these few days, and John warned me against that. “Do you need some rest, ma'am,” Grace said as she walked into my office unannounced. “You didn't knock? Do you think you can just walk in at will?” I asked angrily. “I am sorry, ma. I have been at it for a while now. I kept knocking, but you didn't give me any response,” she replied softly. “My bad. Maybe I didn't hear you. Gosh!! I have a lot of things going on in my head,” I lamented. “I am sorry ma'am. You need to have some rest. I can help you handle these emails. That is why I am your PA,” she suggested calmly. “You seem so nice. I guess I ha

John's POV“What's the update, man?” I asked as I walked into an abandoned warehouse. Raymond was able to catch one of the men who worked with Johnson. So we brought him in for a little interrogation. “We've been having a peaceful interrogation, but I can't get him to speak up,” he replied with blood over his fist. “Oh, come on, man. Don't you think you were a little bit hard in him. You should have started with some Russian manicure before beating him. I'm sure he would not withsatdn the pain of three fingers,” I said. Raymond smirked. “You remind me of the good old days.” “So, back to business. Where did he stop?” I said. The victim gave off muffled noises and screams as I approached him. Fortunately, we were able to get good information. He gave us his address, and Raymond didn't hesitate to call his friend who works for the LAPD. “Are you sure you trust this man to handle this situation?” I asked cautiously. “Yes, relax. He's nothing close to Johnson. He can be trusted,
