Bianca's POV

“Why does my heart skip, betraying me everytime I see him?” I asked in my head as I tried to maintain a serious demeanor.

Mr. Raymond no doubt could successfully be portrayed as any ladies dream from his looks.

His muscular frame and shoulders made him a perfect knight in shining armour and his soft blue eyes had a magic power of being able to tranquility deep down into anyone's soul they fall on.

But regardless of all these, I found him quite annoying. He came out as overly proud to me.

I scoffed silently as he walked towards me after the maid took his black leathered bag.

Truthfully my legs shake and my heart races with an energy of electricity anytime I am around him, but who does he think he is anyway?

Just because he is so cute?

“Oh please,” I let out softly as I tilted my head, allowing my hair, which was tied in a ponytail, to fall back into place.

Raymond wore a sky blue shirt which first two top buttons were opened, revealing his well built, appealing che

Bianca’s POV “Bianca,” Raymond called out from behind, but I was too consumed with rage to actually stop. “Bianca!!” He thundered again, this time so loud that the flowers even shook in fear, that was when I stopped.“What?” I growled back, my eyes blaring red hot. “Do you know you are still in my clothes? Were you really going to go out like this?” He shot back, his eyes scanning me from my head to toe. It was then the whirlwind of anger calmed down a bit. Consumed by rage, I had totally forgotten I was still in his clothes which were clearly oversized for me. I looked like a beggar in these. “Uhmmmn, thank you.” I cowered, my face partly void of the overwhelming anger that etched on it. “What was the call about?” Raymond asked, his voice calmer than before. I kept mute for a while, then finally spoke up. I told Raymond who was surprisingly patient and calm all my boutique manager said over the phone.“I didn't know you had so many things added to your portfolio? You are in th

Raymond's POV I watched as Bianca's countenance changed from jolly to anger. “What could the caller be saying?” I pondered in my head as I watched Bianca. After a few more minutes of silence, then nodding from Bianca's end, she ended the call and stormed out of my room without a word. It was as though she had forgotten for a moment that I was still standing in the room with her, or better said, she had forgotten I was in the picture of her life. “Bianca!” I tried to call her. “Did she forget that was still in my clothes?”The more I called, the more she walked farther away.I had just known Bianca for a few weeks. I could say I had seen her irritated side, her sarcastic side but this rage? No, it was like she was brewing fire from within. “Could this be related to her ex-husband?” “Bianca!!” I thundered again, already getting irritated and vexed due to her attitude.“What!” She shut back. Her furious eyes firing triggers at me. I looked at her, as much as I wanted to be mad wi

Raymond's POV “Open the damn gate!” I growled in frustration. I was mad that the security man seemed to be taking his time as he sluggishly rolled open the gate, and to make matters worse, Sam’s number wasn't connecting anymore. “Sorry sir.” The aged security man uttered as his eyes locked with my gaze. I didn't know what I felt. I was angry. Angry at Bianca for not allowing me to join her, angry at the damn network service. But above all I was scared to my pants. I have never been overwhelmed by fear since I lost my mother in an accident but after the call with Sam, fear clothed me. “You can lock up, don't wait for me.” I instructed the housekeeper who stood silently at the door before jumping into the driver's seat and zooming off. The road was less busy than earlier. The only sound audible in the silent night was that of my car engine and other vehicles on the road. “Why do you have to be so stubborn, Bianca?” I murmured as I ran my left palm across my face, my mind tryin

Bianca's POV I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. As I tried to sit up, a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me to lie back down. That's when I noticed the hospital room. The beeping machine. I was in a hospital? How did I get here? Slowly, I turned my head, and my gaze fell on Raymond. He was sitting in a chair beside my bed, his head bowed down. “Has he been watching over me?” I wondered in my heart as my gaze glued at him. My heart swelled with emotion at the thought.Just then Raymond's head jerked up, and he looked at me with tired eyes. "Bianca," he said, his voice rough from sleep. "You're awake."I tried to speak, but my voice came out hoarse. Raymond quickly stood up and poured me a glass of water from the pitcher on the bedside table. He handed it to me, and I took a sip, feeling the cool liquid soothe my parched throat."How are you feeling?" Raymond asked, his eyes scanning my face as the look of concern on his face stood noticeable. I

Bianca's POV “Why can't he just leave me alone.” I rhetorically asked myself as soon as Raymond closed the door behind him. Trying to calm myself down, I took a deep breath and gulped down the remaining drop of water in the cup. I had to be strong, for my own sake. I couldn't let anyone see me weak, or worse take advantage of my current situation, especially not after what I had just gone through. I won't! I smoothed out my hospital gown, trying to compose myself before the guest who the nurse had said was here to see me came in. “But who could it be?” I asked myself. “I wasn't expecting anyone. Or did my former assistant and friend find out I was here?” “Well whoever it is. His or her presence was what I actually needed to scare off and drive away Raymond.” I closed my eyes, steeling myself for whatever was about to happen. And then, I heard the door to my hospital room swing open.I opened my eyes, and my heart sank. Standing in the doorway, with a smug look on her face, was

Raymond’s POV I stormed out of the hospital room, feeling frustrated and irritated. “Argghhish! How can someone be so blindly stubborn?” I let out as I ran my fingers through my already scattered black hair. “Couldn't she see that I am just trying to help her?” I added in frustration as I leaned my back against the white painted wall. “I wasn't asking for anything in return, no strings attached. Just pure, genuine concern for her well-being.I paced back and forth in the hospital corridor, trying to wrap my head around her behavior. She was clearly hurting, both physically and emotionally. But every time I tried to reach out to her, she pushed me away. It was like she had built a wall around herself, and she was determined to keep me out.“But why do I care so badly?” I questioned myself as I stopped in my tracks. “Why can't I just walk out? Why do I feel a constant need to always keep her safe?” I sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and concern. I knew I couldn't give up on her

Bianca's POV “Who was this Raymond guy really, I thought in my head as I sat stunned in silence crossed by the seat belt on the private helicopter which was soaring above the earth.”As the wind whipped through my hair, I tried to have a grasp on what had just happened. One minute, I was in the hospital, reeling from the news of my pregnancy. The next, Raymond was whisking me away in a helicopter, taking me away from the city I had ever known.I had watched a lot of Cinderella, kind of romantic scenes while growing up but never had I known or ever thought my life would one day be like one of those scenes. As I gazed out the window, I couldn't stop my mind from going back to the web of thoughts and options of who Raymond was. He was so calm and collected, even in the face of chaos. And yet, there was a sense of power and authority about him that was unnerving.“Where are you taking me to?” I blurted out as I twisted my face in fake anger, my eyebrow contorted into a furrow. I had never seen someone live in a house this big. It was literally a house that could fit almost three or four generations together. “Hope you settled in fine.” Raymond's calm voice rang in the air immediately as I drew closer to the table. The morning sun scotched my face as it ruthlessly found its way into my bedroom. I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in the scorching sunlight streaming through the windows bit by bit. My head was pounding, a dull ache that seemed to reverberate through my entire body. I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me to lie back down."Good morning, sir," a voice said, breaking through the fog in my mind.I turned my head, squinting at James, who was standing beside my bed, a look of concern etched on his face."Yea… Good morning,” I managed to reply, my voice husk and grumpy. “How long have you been here?” “Few seconds ago,” he replied. “I thought it wise to check up on you since you didn't come down at your usual time in the morning sir.” “Huh…what time is it?" I croaked, my voice still rough from sleep."It's nine, sir," James replied, his voice soft and gentle.I rubbed my temples, trying to massage away the headache. Last night's events came flooding

I yanked open the car door, my grip firm on its handle, and slid into the passenger seat, slamming the door shut behind me. James looked at me in the rearview mirror, his eyes concerned. He knew better than to talk to me when I was in this kind of mood. I paid no attention to his expressions, but I just shook my head, before allowing it to rest on the neck aid attached to the seat. The evening sky seemed to be in the same mood I was in, cloaking itself in a dark navy blue hue. But the stars shining above mocked me, their twinkling lights like a cruel joke. The cool night air slapped me in the face like a wake-up call. But I was already wide awake, my anger and frustration still simmering, like a pot left unattended on the stove. The drive home was a blur. I stared out the window, my mind racing with thoughts of Bianca, of the police, of the anonymous tip that had set this whole nightmare in motion. Who could have done such a thing? And why? The questions swirled in my head like a vor

I paced back and forth in the small, drab room, my anger simmering just below the surface like a pot about to boil over. Almost an hour. That's how long I'd been waiting. No one had bothered to come and talk to me, no one had even offered me a glass of water. The fluorescent lights above flickered, casting eerie shadows on the walls."Tsk! What a day," I grumbled, my voice low and menacing. To think that a person like me, with so much respect from the position my family occupied in the city, a pillar of the community, would be treated like some kind of common criminal. Today had really come in all shades of red.As I boiled over with anger, the door creaked open, and I spun around, my eyes blazing with fury. "About time," I snapped, my voice rising like a thunderclap. "I've been kept waiting for almost an hour. What kind of incompetence is this?"The chief investigator, a tall, imposing man with a calm expression, walked into the room. He looked new, I hadn't seen him around before. H

“Sir, I had to send the driver home. Would drive you instead, sir.” James spoke out after a long silence between us as we headed to the hospital car park. Still wrapped in deep grief and sadness, I nodded in acknowledgement, not letting a word leave my lips. It was past nine when I settled into the back seat of my sleek black Sedan car with tinted windows. I couldn't believe I had spent the whole day at the hospital. “Home, sir?" James asked immediately after bringing the engine back to life as his eyes met mine in the rearview mirror.I nodded. "Yes, home."As James pulled out of the hospital parking lot, I leaned back in my seat and closed my eyes, feeling the soft hum of the engine and the gentle motion of the car. For a moment, I forgot all the past events of the day as the cool night air rushed past my face, carrying the scent of blooming flowers and fresh-cut grass. As we drove, my eyelids began to grow heavy, my body relaxing into the soft slumber of sleep. Raymond’s POV After several hours of waiting, and receiving the news my doctor friend gave me about our newborn, the chief surgeon finally came out. “Good evening, Mr Greg.” He greeted, his voice professional but calm as he pulled out the surgical mask he wore over his nose and mouth. “I’m so sorry about the loss of your child… your…” “Please, just tell me, don't patronize me. I can handle it.” I impatiently spoke, taking the doctor's words from his mouth. “Well, Mr Greg. Your wife isn't dead if that's what you mean but, she drifted into a coma after the operation. So now all we can do is wait while we try to provide her reasons for her to fight back and return to us.” I was shocked. Today I have to win the Guinness record for the worst day of my life. “Ca…can I at least see her?” I muttered, my voice dipped in grief. “Can I see my wife please?” “I don't think…” “Please, doctor.” I pleaded, wiping off the tears that slowly streamed down my eyes. “If you insist. One second Bianca was glowing and smiling as she stood beside me, and now she was covered with blood struggling for her own life. “Please stay with me,” I managed to utter, “We are almost there.” I added as I held her hand, trying to get her to stay with me. But her eyes were glazing over, her pupils dilating. I could feel her slipping away from me, and I was powerless to stop it."No, no, no," I whispered, my voice shaking with desperation. "Don't leave me, Bianca. Please don't leave me."The room around us was a blur of chaos and confusion. People were shouting, crying, and screaming. But I was focused solely on Bianca, trying to keep her with me.I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I turned to see one of our friends, a doctor, kneeling beside me. As I reminisced about the love journey of Bianca and I, my heart filled with gratitude and I was determined to make this day special for her and our unborn child. A day that she would never forget. “Mrs Jenkins, please make sure the best wines are used to serve the guests today. Everything should be in order.” I quickly said, my voice calm but urgent as Mrs Jenkins walked across the hall. It was my last arsenal for Diego.“Let me see if he would reject me this way,” I uttered softly in my head as I put finishing touches to my hair. In a few minutes, satisfied with my look, I stepped out of the room and began to make my way downstairs. “Ma’am everything is packed and is already in the car.” The chief cook, a middle aged woman in her fifties announced immediately she saw me.
