Seth Charlene Idris was escorted to the new domiciles.

Charlene started to speak the moment the doors were closed.

Dad, could you believe what we just witnessed? That was amazing!!! The first soul, wow!!

Her sheer presence is like overwhelming!!! This place!! In this realm I'm at a loss for words!! I guess if I had to say anything about this world. I'm home!! I feel like I belong here.

Charlene opened up her arms and twirled in the center of the room.

Did you know she could tell you about the future? The thing she told me about what I would do and how civilization was going to change immensely!

Slow down, Charlene. First, she's the spear of destiny the mother to us all. The first spirit can transfer to anything that it wants not without years of practice. Seth was still thinking about what just happen and how they made it out alive. He couldn't stop thinking about his wife Tamera.

What are you talking about future events??

The plan for our lives' dad!! Everything is Predestined.

And everything works together. Your life is not your own!! We are one!!

So happy that Charlene wasn't devastated but more elated about what her life was going to be like from now on.

I guess it didn't sink in, he thought,

Princess, what are you talking about?

Let me show you.

We always talk about life and how and what we do affects others. It is like a ripple effect which affects that person and then what they do affects another person. We were almost right. With that being said...

Now think of it as a tree. Now with its branches. Some of the branches might break off. Some might get damaged in a storm and some might grow new branches. OK?

Ok.

And this is the way of life. Something might stop the predestined destination, but something is always lined up to replace it.

To carry it on maybe in a different direction or by different means. But the outcome could be the same, but take a different route. It may take longer, but the pre-destined destination will be the same outcome. That's how life works here.

So when you broke the rules and took mom back to earth, you messed up my fate along with your own. The first spirit has a plan, and she said it set it in motion by making me a journeyer.

You have to trust her dad! And she knows what she's doing. She's going to get us back on the right track.

The civil war is approaching. She may not be able to stop it, but she can make sure we're on the winning side.

I can't give you all the details. I don't want to change the outcome, but trust me. We're going to play a major part. We just got to have faith.

The first spirit has never spoken to anyone. About the future Charlene, you must be special.

She said we were in for a long battle, but if we do what she says, we can save countless innocent lives.

Okay, Charlene, I'm in. What do we do?

Feed me! Charlene said I am starvin!

Seth laughed at Charlene," You're full of surprises, sorry when have you last eaten??

ReNew snorted and made a piggy face and rolled her eyes. Not being able to speak. Trying to hide was killing her.

You might not like what we have for the selection of food here.

Why, what's wrong with it?

You know on earth, how food is made to look pleasing to the eye? Well, here in this realm, we don't put so much emphasis on presentation. As long as it provides energy and fills your tummy, that's about it. Does that make sense?

Well, it can't be that bad, as long as it tastes good. I guess I'm too hungry to argue.

It's not bad. Just let me show you....

Seth walked over to the other side of the room, touched a panel on the wall, and it opened up, revealing a long tray. He tapped his hand on the edge of the rim, and it slid out of the wall on a long flat surface. Seth touches the top of the panel. To reveal a long sheet of orbs in the tray. All different colors and sizes.

Charlene, looking confused, what are we supposed to do with all these balls?

Seth chuckled," well you're supposed to eat them.

You put one in your mouth. They have a soft crunchy flaking shell on the outside and, inside, it has a liquid taffy texture.

Charlie shoved the biggest one right in the mouth and started chewing.

Seth tried to stop Charlene! You are supposed to chew small little bites slowly. It's a condensed meal. You can eat and get full quickly. Some people finish after a couple of bites. And you chewed a whole one! That was a whole roast beef dinner for the family!! Charlene to the laboratory. You're going to have a problem in a minute! That's going to expand in your stomach. You're going to be sick!

Seth pushed a panel in the bathroom and appeared out of nowhere. Seth pointed to the bathroom. After that, all of a sudden, Charlene felt the food coming back up.

All you could hear was her stomach rumbling and seeing it moving around.

I taste gravy, carrots and potatoes? That tastes superb!! I don't see there's a problem with.......She started holding her mouth trying to contain the food.  Quickly entered the bathroom. The food starts shooting past her fingers out of her mouth.

Like a fire hose, Charlene couldn't contain it any longer.

Seth said thank god for self-cleaning bathrooms.

While Charlene was vomiting in the toilet bowl.

On leaving the bathroom, Seth pushed a panel and the bathroom. It began to self-clean itself, water swishing everywhere, sanitizing itself and then closing itself back up into the wall.

Charlene said to ReNew. I won't do that again. Sorry renew!!

I can't unsee what I just saw, disgusting ewe!! ReNew stuck her tongue out in disgust.

Seth said with a parental voice. I was wondering when you were going to talk to your spirit.

With all that was going on, Renew thought that we should not bring her up.

Seth spoke to Charlene. Renew. What a clever name... ReNew I am truly, truly sorry for what I did to you. Please forgive me!??

Renew wanted to drag him into her mind's eye and give him a tongue lashing!! I will never forgive you!! A whole bunch of I told you so!! If you had just listened to me!! I could have been an asset!! But you were too arrogant!! Bull headed and Heth to listen!! A thousand things ran through her mind all angry!! If they had just let me!!.... hot tears warmed her cheeks.

Immediately.

Charlene jumped into their minds' eyes. It's okay, let it out. We are all entitled to a breakdown now and then. Get it off your chest.

Would you like to speak to my dad now?

Renew shook her head, no...!!! Give me a minute to heal. I need a minute or two, okay??

I understand. Take all the time you need.

Charlene began to burp out loud. That roast beef took a lot out of me!!

Ewe disgusting!!! ReNew frowned at Charlene. You need to go lay down somewhere and get you some medicine....!!!

Still following behind the young man, Charlene slowed her pace even further as she watched him enter a large domed building with pillars that were taller than the eye could extend, reaching into the clouds above. Looking up, she heard a voice."Welcome, Daughter of Seth! 1st day of seminary. Proceed to your first session."Charlene felt a rush of excitement. For the first time since this all began, she felt special. The structure seemed to go on forever."Where are the stairs or elevators?" she wondered aloud. When ReNew spoke sternly, "Close your mouth an

  • Beyond Fate   what's the matter?

Seth stood watching his wife. What is this woman doing? he thought. Tamera was scanning the monitor, flipping through recent relays, searching for maps, trying to figure out where they were. All she knew was that they were in a cave... and there was sand everywhere. “Darn it!” she hissed, throwing her hands up in frustration. “Where are we? There’s gotta be some kind of map, some kind of coordinates...” Seth cleared his throat. “Tamera, what are you doing?” “Trying to learn how to work the screen, darling,” she lied—boldly. And he knew it. “In the war room?” he asked with a smirk. “I can help you with anything you need.” “That’s okay.” She forced a brittle smile onto her face. “Why don’t we go into our room?” His voice dropped, low and coaxing. “There are screens in there... and we can have some alone time.”

  • Beyond Fate   everything is not what it seems

Ever since last night, Idris had a knot in his stomach he couldn’t untie. “For a human who’s just been in a demon domain,” he muttered under his breath, watching from the shadows of the corridor, “she doesn’t have a single scratch.” Don’t get him wrong—he was beyond relieved that they found Tamera. The woman meant a lot to this family. And he felt sick over what the First Spear had to give up to bring her back. If he could trade his right arm to heal her, he would do it in a heartbeat. But Tamera… something about her just didn’t sit right. The moment he hugged her, it was like holding a mannequin—stiff, unfamiliar. No warmth. No scent of lilac and sandalwood like before. Nobody else seemed to notice, too caught up in their emotions. Overjoyed she was alive, safe, returned to them. He didn’t want to kill the moment with his suspicions, but… He chewed his bottom lip. “How did she survive ou

She looked so young in that moment, so helpless. The First Spear—her grandmother, Destiny—had exhausted nearly all of her energy fighting back the hordes of demons. Seth finally got his morning brew. He turned to pull out a chair, but before he could even take a sip, a hand shot out of nowhere. "Ummm—hot!" Argun winced, snatching the mug like a thief in the night. "Where did you come from?" Seth muttered, rolling his eyes. "Darn portals." Without another word, Argun downed the entire cup in one go. Steam hissed from his lips as he exhaled. "Aaah. Tasty." He slammed the empty mug down in approval. Seth blinked in disbelief. "Dude, really? Want another?" Just then, Charlene and ReNew entered the kitchen. The energy shifted instantly. Argun, without turning, spoke quietly. "Hello, little one." Shame still lingered in his voice—from the last time they’d met, when he obeyed Destiny’s command and left Charlene to fend for herself. "Argun!" Charlene ran full-force and hugged him from behind. The first orb was high in the morning sky. Seth was still stirring, not fully awake. "Gi-Gi?" he mumbled, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Why are you in my room?" He paused, noticing her unease. "Is everything okay?" "Yes and no," she replied softly, settling on the foot of his bed. She crossed her legs, smoothing the folds of her robes, buying herself time to choose her words. Turning her head slightly away, she spoke. "How attached are you to that?" She didn’t turn back around—she just waited. Seth, half-awake, instinctively twirled the chain around his neck, fingers brushing over the rings. “Oh—this? You mean the rings? Well…” His cheeks colored. He hadn't realized she’d noticed how often he fidgeted with it. "Attached? I guess… since Tamera’s been missing, I’ve just… I keep it close. It reminds me of her." His voice dropped as he looked down at the necklace, then back up. “Grandmother… what is this about?” "Do you mind if I hold it for a while?" she asked gently. “I p

"When we were younger, Seth and I used to play in these caves. One day, we stumbled across this whirlpool," Idris explained, standing above the dark swirling pool of water. He nudged a few loose pebbles over the edge with his foot. "Plop." The pebbles were immediately pulled under. "Well?" Idris asked, hands on his hips. "Well what, Uncle Idris?" Charlene blinked, confused. "Who's going in first?" he grinned. Seth rolled his eyes. "Seriously, Idris? Bro, c'mon." "What? It was your idea!" Charlene stepped closer. The lagoon's exact depth was unknown. Mist drifted upward like soft breath from the cavern’s throat, and warm, damp air clung to their skin. The stone walls wept slowly, glistening with sheets of mineral-rich water that painted them like ancient tapestries. It frizzed Charlene’s hair mercilessly. She caught her reflection in a smooth ripple of obsidian water and groaned inwardly. If only I had my cell phone, she thought. I could check my hair. She tried to smooth down her edges, hoping Issa didn’t notice her stealthy grooming. They walked slowly along the slick stone, boots squishing softly with each step. The cave opened wider the deeper they went, the lagoon stretching endlessly before them like some subterranean sea. Charlene tilted her head. “This isn't a lagoon… It’s a whole underground lake.” Issa paused beside her, glancing around in awe. “It’s beautiful… but eerie. • Beyond Fate   All new trouble

The First Spear paused at the mouth of the cave, her presence stilling the air. "I sense a disturbance," she said. "You two are needed outside. I recommend handling this yourselves." She turned to go, her tone solemn. "Remember—these Fates are no longer under the Council’s rule. Everything has changed for them. Show grace." A soft blessing: "Be well." And she departed. "Wait, GiGi!" Charlene called after her. "I wanted to ask you something—" A distant voice floated back, almost amused. "We’ll talk later, sweetheart. Go ahead—you’re needed outside. I’ll be back." Seth and Charlene emerged from the cave into chaos. The air was thick with noise—shouts, sobs, and arguments swirling into the sky. Hundreds of Fates were packed tightly together, shoving, yelling, fraying at every edge.

Seth and the First Spear stood there awkwardly, saying nothing at first. The cave echoed with silence, the kind that grew louder with every passing moment. Seth's thoughts spun like a storm. Where do I start? I have so many questions. “Start anywhere,” she said gently. “I’ll answer your questions.” He blinked. “That’s right—you can read minds.” “Absolutely right. And emotions, just like you and Charlene.” Her tone was soft, steady, trying to ease the tension she could feel rising in him. She sensed his nerves and didn’t want to make this any harder than it already was. “Walk with me, Seth.” They paced through the cave, the cool air brushing against them like ghosted memories. “Can I just talk plainly to you?” Seth asked, hands shoved in his pockets. “Without all the prestige? Your Majesty and whatnot. All due respect.” “Your daughter certainly does,” she grinned.
