Chapter 2

Mohit's POV

I went outside and saw Manu clicking pictures of Wasim and Monisha. I was amazed by her dedication. It was not easy to come to work, on the next day of your wedding. 

I still remember my meeting with her husband Sahil Malhotra. I was shocked...

That day, Manu came to the workshop with a man. I had met him at a wedding, which Manu had gone to attend in Chandigarh.  He was really handsome and attractive. I liked him a lot, But before I could talk to him, I felt that there was some tension between both of them. 

He said he was her boyfriend and I got angry with her as I used to tell her everything about myself. I still remember she came to talk to me the next day. But I didn't want to talk to her. I don't know why, but I felt bad.

" I am sorry Mohit... I should have told you about him. " 

" I don't want to talk about it please..."

" Please Mohit, at least hear me out. " 

" What?? I asked you so many times about him but You always refused to say anything. Why do you want to talk to me about him now? " 

" I know... I am sorry... But I didn't want to talk about him. " 

" So why now?? Had trouble in paradise earlier... And now everything is settled? Passion filled moments and all that... haan?  " 

Why was I sounding jealous?? I didn't love her... I mean, I did... But not in that way. But then why?? 

Maybe, I was feeling insecure about losing her. 

" Mohit Please... It's not like that. It's not like that at all. " 

" Please what, Manu ?? What do you want to tell me now?? I don't want to hear anything now... Your boyfriend already told us many things. " 

" Mohit... " 

" Please yaar, I felt betrayed. let us not talk about your boyfriend. " 

" He is not my boyfriend... "  

"  What?? What the hell?? " I asked. She started crying.

Why was she crying?? What happened?? Was she in any kind of problem?? I would kill that man if he did something... 

" Why did he say all that ?? Why ?? What the hell is going on?? Who is he?? " I took her in my arms and patted her back to calm her. 

" He is my husband.... " 

She said and I was shocked. No... That was not possible.  

I always thought that I was an important part of her life... But she had a husband?? 

" How?? How can he be... You are married to him?? How ?? When?? Why??" I was so shocked. I wanted her to deny it. 

She told me everything... From the beginning. 

" What the hell?? Who gets married like that?? " I was feeling bad... 

" I know... But I had no option. " 

" Why didn't you tell me?? " 

" I was shocked... " 

" I would have helped you. " 

" How?? " 

" I would have married you... " I said.

I really would have... She was the only woman I could live with... We get along well.  

" What ?? Are you insane ?? " 

" No, I am serious. " 

" Mohit!! But you... " 

" My parents are really after my life to get settled. I don't want to... " 

" But then, why??? " 

" At least, I would have saved you from that unwanted forced marriage to a total stranger. "

" Mohit, do you even know, what are you saying?? " 

" I know what I am saying..." I said. I was feeling bad. I had a sinking feeling. I didn't know why?? 

" But why??"  She asked but I  just shook my head. I didn't know... 

" Leave that... So, exactly what do you feel about him??  " I asked.

" I don't know. "

" You love him? " 

" No... " 

" So there is still a chance for me?? " I asked.

" What ?? No way... "  

" You like him??

" I don't know... I am not sure... " 

" Will you care to explain? " 

" I am not sure what I feel about him. I hate him for what he did but still, I am thinking about him all the time. " 

She was thinking of him all the time?? I was sure that they were falling for each other. 

" You signed the papers, right? " I asked.

" Yeah, but he destroyed them. " 

" So what?? I will get the papers made in no time. " 

I would have if she had wanted to get divorced from him. But I didn't feel that she wanted it. 

" I also said that to him. But he said he would not sign the papers at any cost as he wants another chance to make this marriage work." 

" Adamant man " 

" Very Adamant... " 

" He seems to like you a lot. " 

" How can you say that? "

" Well, I saw in his eyes. He was getting all jealous and possessive when Kabir, Wasim and I were coming close to you, he was getting very jealous and wanted to beat all of us.  I know that. " 

" What ?? " 

" He is falling for you. " 

" You really think so?

"  I know so... trust me I know the way he was looking at you and all the glares, he was giving all of us. "

" Seriously?? " She asked and I nodded. 

" What do you think about him?? " She asked.

" Well, he seems to be a nice man. He is falling for you and is really hot... Tall... fair... handsome.... " 

" Hey !!! You are talking about my husband... " She said. 

" Getting jealous?? " 

" No... But still, he is married to me. " 

" Hmmm, I wish he was not..." 

" Mohit !!! Stop talking about him like that. He is off-limits to you..."  She said. So, she was jealous... 

" You are being mean... You don't want him and still, you are getting jealous over him too. What exactly do you want? " 

" Nothing,  but just don't think about him. As it is, he was a casanova... He is absolutely straight. " 

" I will try to change his point of view... " I teased her. 

" No Mohit... " she said glaring at me but I kept teasing her for another five minutes that she should let me try my charm on her husband. 

" Mohit... No more discussion on this point and just stay away from him... stop thinking about him.  Ok?? He is married to me. " 

I was teasing her. I was sure she liked him. 

" So..  you and him never...." 

" Hell no... Enough Mohit !!! stop it." 

" I mean not even kissed?? " I asked and her face became absolutely red. 

" Oh god.... Look at yourself. So you both have kissed. How was your first kiss?? " 

" I don't want to talk about it... " 

" That bad ?? " I narrowed my eyes. 

" What ?? No... " Her whole face was absolutely hot even thinking about those kisses. 

" That good?? Shit !!  I am jealous of you. " I said, her eyes got wide open. 

" Mohit !! You are too much. Drop this topic already. " 

"  He seems to have understood everything and I think he loves you. He is trying a lot dear. Please, give him a chance. " 

" I don't know... I want to... But I doubt that he is not serious in the relationship. What if he goes back to others. "

" What if I persuade him to try something different for a change. " I  winked wickedly. 

" Just shut up and stay away from him... " She glared at me. 

" Ok, love, " I said, raising my hands in surrender and then shook my head and started laughing. 

" Mohit, why did you say that you would have married me? " 

Oh, God !! I should not have said that... 

" I thought that you were bound in a forced marriage to a stranger just to satisfy your parents. I may also have to do that someday.  They would never understand my sexual preferences.  You know everything about me still you don't judge me for that. I love you a lot.  So I said that it would have been better, if we got married to satisfy our parents, at least we are friends and you know very well that you are the only woman I love. We could have gotten married to satisfy our parents and could have lived our lives the way we wanted. " 

" Mohit you are crazy... why would I judge, it's your life... Live it the way you like. But, I don't think like you... " 

" What do you mean? " 

" I want to be in a normal marriage, where my husband loves me and me only. " 

" I understand that... Forget that I ever said that. " 

I wish, I had not said that... I didn't want things to get awkward between us.

" Hmm... You are my best friend... Though you are a bit crazy, still, I love you. "

Oh, Thank God !! She was normal... 

" I love you too... But your husband is hot... Let me know, well in advance if you want to divorce him. " 

" Get lost !!  " 

" Someone getting possessive over her casanova husband. " 

" Shut up !! "  She said and shook her head.

I swear, I loved her, she didn't even get angry when I proposed to her indirectly. I could not lose my friendship with her.
