For a fortnight, there was a conspicuous silence between the two. Nero's heart sank as he watched his mate quickly turn and walk away every time he attempted to engage her in conversation. It seemed as though she was purposefully avoiding him, and he couldn't help but wonder what he had done to cause such a rift between them.
