>>Harou
It took me more time to reach the warehouse than I had expected but when I stepped outside the car with the other officers I noticed how quiet the place was.
Something feels off.
I darted my eyes around looking for Koen but I didn’t spot him, “You three,” I looked at the officers, “Circle around the place,” I took out my gun.
“Yes sir,”
As the three of them dispersed, and I walked over to the main shutter, although halfway there, I already noticed the side door wide open.
Ah, that idiot, I told him to stay put. I shook my head and sprinted the rest of the way in,
“Koen!?&rdq
>>Koen“How far did you manage to follow her scent?” We were having a meeting in his office,I gritted my teeth and it took all of my being to stop my claws from coming out because I was restless.“G-17” I replied,“Sector G-17…” He stared at the tracking app on his phone, “The warehouse is on the other side of the city.”At his words, I thought about it as well. It was odd, the scent led me to another direction but the warehouse was elsewhere. I let out a frustrated sigh as I realized how stupid it was of me to not notice it before. I should have brought it up when I saw the tracker app but all my focus was on finding Jenny.
>>Koen“Ulrich-” I paused, “Your Highness!?”“Ulrich?”We both were shocked to see him here, it was completely out of the blue after all.Ulrich stood in the doorframe. His skin was pale and he looked worried but the moment he saw us, some of the color returned to him and he came rushing over.AH,The moment I saw him, I got what this was about.“Where’s Jena?” It was the expected question. I’m sure he felt that she was in trouble when she was knocked out. Even though they’re not bonded, he must have felt it since Jena’s life could have been in danger if I ha
>>JennySomething wet kept dropping on my face. Like droplets, causing me to come out of the darkness I had succumbed to and open my eyes.As I slowly regained consciousness, a haze of disorientation and grogginess enveloped my senses. My head throbbed with a dull ache, and a heaviness weighed upon my limbs, making even the slightest movement a struggle. The world around me seemed distorted, as if I were trapped in a nightmare from which I couldn't awaken. What is happening? Another drop fell on my forehead and I realized the ceiling was leaking. As my vision cleared, I realized I was no longer in familiar surroundings. The dim, flickering light revealed cold, concrete walls that confined me to what appeared to be a basement. The air was heavy and stale, carrying a
>>JennyFinally, the ropes yielded to my persistence. I felt a wave of temporary relief wash over me as my hands slipped free, and the ropes fell to the ground. I flexed my fingers, savoring the freedom of movement. But there was no time to celebrate and I was reminded of that just as I heard a creak coming from the floorboard above.Oh no! My heart skipped a beat at the sound.Someone was here!I have to get out of here before they come down!I quickly untied the ropes that bound my ankles, releasing my legs from their confining grasp. Each knot unraveled with a sense of liberation, and I made sure to do it as fast as I could.A
>>JennyA surge of terror rushed through me, fueling my actions as I contorted my body to fit through the narrow opening. It required me to jump and fit into the hole since it was still high. I gritted my teeth, my heart pounding in my ears as I jumped into the portal and got stuck.“Huh?” He noticed the empty place where I should have been, “What the hell?!” He stomped down the stairsI wriggled and twisted my body to move further.Panic had gripped my actions and the fear in me got worse when he came down and noticed where I was, “Hey!” His stern voice reached my ears, causing me to fasten my movement and slip further out. I grabbed onto the grass on the other side to pull myself while I heard him stomp his way towards me.
>>Jenny“Hey!” The voice of a man snapped me back to my senses and my feet spurred into action even before my mind did.I heard him come from the left side so I ran in the opposite direction.“Stop!” Someone else yelled at me and I realized there were two people after me now. I circled the cottage and ran around to the front where I saw someone making his way inside. I only caught a glimpse of his back as I sprinted through the clearing. My feet were pounding against the ground as I ran into the woods.“Stop her!!!” I heard the yelling behind me along with the sound of pursuit echoing in the distance, which in turn drove me to push even harder, and I tapped into reservoirs of strength
>>HarouI didn’t realize when I dozed off, but the banging sound of the door opening and shutting woke me up violently and I sat up with a fright on the couch.“What?” I shot my head towards the door.“AH!” It was an officer, “Sorry…” He placed his hand on the door, “Didn’t mean to make so much noise…” He seemed apologetic and I let out a sigh as soon as I realized it wasn’t anything dangerous. It was the same officer I had assigned some task to and he was here to report his findings.I rubbed my temples and brought my feet down on the floor, “So?” I looked around the room and noticed Koen, “What’s the report?” He was sitting on the computer chair looking d
>>SamEveryone talked about how Jenny didn’t come for the college exams for two days straight. Miss Lee was worried too but only I know why she didn’t make it.I laughed internally as I walked out of the school. Just one more day and she’ll have missed all the major university exams. I smirked. She deserved that. She is a bitch after all.I didn’t ask the thugs to hurt her sister but whatever, I guess, it was for the better since she was a witness. Sleeping through this incident would be better for her heart.I was in a delightful mood as I stomped down the school ramp, just out the school gate when I noticed someone walking in my direction. I wouldn’t have paid much attention to
>>Jena“It was a wonderful event.” Ulrich and I sat on the rooftop open bar after attending Jenny's wedding.“It was nice,” Ulrich replied, “I like the pastel blues in Portia’s theme.”“I know!” I got excited, “And it went wonderfully with Jenny’s theme of pastel yellow.”“Looks like they both put in a lot of effort and time for time.”I let out a satisfied sigh, “Yea,” I smiled and leaned into Ulrich, they sure did, “I’m glad it all went well.” The cool breeze caressed my skin as I took a sip from my drink and let it relax me.As I gazed out at the city skyline,
>>JennyI can’t believe the time is here. I know I was waiting for this day. I wanted to marry Koen so badly so that he would mark me. But I’m still reluctant about moving to The Silver City. It hasn’t even been a year since I started working as an officer. I don’t want to leave my job.Portia is leaving with Egon directly after the wedding ends, she’s more than happy to go with Egon now. I saw the mark on the back of her neck this morning and I found myself anticipating the one I’ll be getting.I was sitting in the bridal room, all dolled up when my mate came to disrupt the thoughts that were torturing me.“What are you worried about?” Koen came and sat down nex
(Further two years later)>>Portia“Hey hurry up!” Jenny whined, “We’re already late!” Jenny graduated from the police academy and now is bossier than ever even though she still hasn’t passed her National Detective and Investigative Test (NDIT) She’s working as an officer now while I just finished my final exam two weeks ago.“Just a minute.” I told her, “We’re leaving for good, I have to make sure we’re not leaving anything behind.” I got an Education degree from a university near Jenny’s and we shared a dorm for four years.I looked around the place that was now empty and I tightly clutched the hand bag in my hands, &ld
>>Jenny“Alright then,” We waited till another music piece started, “It’s really not hard. Since you’re smart. You’ll do great.”I nodded and as another piece started we swayed to the rhythm of the music, our bodies moving in sync. It was really easy to follow Koen’s lead, especially because he was going slow for me so that I could catch up.In the midst of the dance, I couldn't resist the urge to tease him, probably because I was on an edge and needed to divert my attention from the problem tugging at my brain. I was being bolder than usual. Leaning in closer, I whispered into his ear, my voice laced with a playful edge. "You know," I murmured, my breath tickling his skin, "I heard that kissing burns calories, wanna test that theory?"
>>JennyThe grand hall was adorned with opulent decorations, Jena, dressed in regal attire, stepped forward with confidence. She was wearing a breathtaking gown, a creation of exquisite silk and delicate lace. The fabric cascaded around her, flowing like a waterfall of opulenceThe officiant, the highest-ranking werewolf elder, stepped forward and began the ceremony, reciting ancient rituals and blessings. He spoke of the qualities that define a true leader: strength, wisdom, compassion, and the ability to unite the werewolf clans under a common purpose and blah blah blah. I couldn’t concentrate much on it really. One by one, the leaders of the packs stepped forward, offering their allegiance and loyalty to Jena. They pledged to support and follow her, recognizing her as the rightful
(Two years later)>>PortiaDuring the summer vacation holidays after our second year, Jena and Ulrich held their marriage ceremony and Jena’s coronation as Queen. Jenny and I made our way to the Silver City. Considering Jenny doesn’t have a full mark and hasn’t gone through her shifting she has to be accompanied by a wolf to pass the barriers of the Silver City even though she has special permission from the king himself to enter the lycan city. The forest was dense and we had to travel a lot on foot to reach the entrance of the city. It was exhausting but when we reached and saw the two people waiting for us there outside the entrance, our fatigue flew away. It was like a happy moment, where the chemicals in our brains shifted, causing us to forget about our tiredness.
>>JenaWe both waited for them to make a decision, we stood quietly while they glared back at us. It was quite unnerving to just stand there in the awkward and deadly silent while two God knows how old lycans stared at me.Then the previous Queen let out a sigh“Bianca dear,” Mother in law turned to her, “I’m sorry we called you here.” She shook her head, “You can go back. I apologize for inconveniencing you.”!!!Does she mean what I think she means by that?!?!Bianca was baffled at the apology, “Are you taking the human’s side?” She looked at the couple in di
>>UlrichShe nodded, “Yes,” Her answer held no doubt, “You need a Queen. And it has to be someone educated. You need a noble lycan to help you with your work as king.”….“NO!” I answered back in disbelief, “Not happening.” I removed her hands from my face and stepped back, “Absolutely not!”I had a bad feeling on my way here too but I wasn’t expecting them to say something so stupid.Marry someone else? Make someone else my Queen? Does that make any sense??!The depth of my love for Jena was unyielding. Every fibe
>>JenaBianca Beez!?Why is she here? I keep hearing her name but the only solace I had was that I didn’t have to see her myself or see her near Ulrich. So why is she here, in the palace, out of the blue?“Oh?” I raised my brow at her, “I’ve never heard of you.” I gave her a confident smile.“Oh?” She looked a little offended at that, but it seemed my words didn’t bother her much, “Well, men tend to hide their lovers.”Her words pissed me off. Lovers? Is she trying to imply that she and Ulrich were lovers?“Oh, no,” I shook my he
