Chapter 12(gala)
Sapphire's Point Of View: âWhoâs that?â he asked. âWho?" I asked before pressing my lips into a thin line, hoping it wasn't what it seemed to be. âWho?" He asked me back. The cat got my tongue. âIt's Tiara." I lied, faking a smile. âYour fiance?" He said. My smile wavered, "IâŚit's just a little game we're playing and I was dared to do that. Don't bother, you trust me right? I don't become a lesbian, Tyler.â. "Oh. I see. You should call her then. She seems to need you. Call her, I'd also love to speak with her. It's been a while you know and besides, I didn't send her greetings on her birthday.â He spoke. I pressed my lips into a thin line again, grabbing my phone from the table before opening Landon's text. 'Where are you? Can we go on a date?â I saw his message. 'No, fiance. I'm on a date with my boyfriend. Besides, those fake feelings should also go on holiday on weekends, please. You just got me in trouble.â. I waited for a while then he replied, 'We'll be attending a gala tonight. As my fiance, you should be by my side, holding my hand. A trillionaire at a gala without a partner isn't so nice, especially not for one in his thirties.â. 'Sure. Just get me a nice dress ready.â I replied. 'Bye.âI added again. I placed my phone on the table. âShe said she's too busy to get on a call right now. She was actually asking me something about the company I work for since she needed some details to see if she can also get a job there. She asked me to send greetings.â I lied. Yet I would claim I loved him. I couldn't keep hiding the truth from him forever and the more I hid it, the more the truth would hurt him if he eventually finds out which he would soon enough, but I couldn't bring myself to hurt him just yet. âOkay then. Oh, concerning your company. You never told me how work is going. Is your boss nice to you? I really hope the work isn't stressing the daylight out of you! What position did you get?â He asked. I laughed, "Chill, chillâŚ.not much question, babe.". I then added, âYes, my boss is very nice to me. And no, the work isn't so stressful ....â. Lies, raw lies! âI got the position of a personal assistant of a CEO.". âOh. Great. I hope your boss isn't crushing on you though. I can't imagine my own girlfriend leaving me for a CEO!â. I forced a laugh before swallowing hard, thinking of another lie to feed him. âMy boss is a female." I said. âA female CEO? Perfect.â. I prayed he wouldn't ask her name since he's also a CEO and I literally didn't know any other CEO except for him and Landon, not even the CEO of the world bank. âYeah.". âCan I ask you something?" He asked. Oh, no. Don't ask for my boss's name!! "Can you go with me to the gala tonight as my partner?". My heart skipped a beat at his question. I swallowed hard, unable to even think of what to say. I zoned out, looking past his shoulder as my eyes caught a glimpse of someone in a black car on the road with a gun pointing at Tyler. Tyler's gaze followed mine to trace what I was looking at. Immediately, both our eyes widened. Before I could even capture the image of the person's face in my memory, the person quickly pulled down his black hood covering his face. The car immediately zoomed off. Tyler rose up swiftly, âGet in the car!" He commanded. I've never heard his voice so commanding before. I quickly grabbed my phone and purse and ran behind him. We entered the car and before I could even close the door, he fired the engine, zooming off at a crazy speed. I quickly closed the door before throwing my phone into my pocket. âUse your god-damned seatbelts!" He shouted. What the fuck?! Tyler was always nice until this moment. I've never heard him say the 'god-damnedâ word. What on earth was wrong with him! However, I ignored his attitude and fastened my seat belt then returned my gaze to the black car ahead. The car took a sharp left turn. Tyler's leg slammed against the brakes as he quickly rotated the wheels to the left, causing the tyres to make screeching noises against the tiled roads. My head leaned forward at the impact. Just like fast and furious. There was a speed limit sign ahead but Tyler broke the limit but didn't care, instead he kept going. The car took another turn again but at the right this time. Tyler used the brakes, drifting to the right but we were met with a truck ahead of us. A sharp scream escaped my lips. Tyler slammed against the brakes again but it was too late. All I knew was my heartbeat became faster than it was andâŚ. 'BAM!â.Chapter fourteen (it's over)Sapphire's Point of view:'BAM!â My head hit against the airbag. I breathed heavily, raising my gaze as I pushed back the airbag. âAre you okay?!" Tyler asked. I nodded, sighing.I returned my gaze to the front of the car, luckily for us, our car didn't hit the truck. We were safe. The airbag only came out due to the sharp brakes.Pedestrians were on the road side, staring in shock.I heard a knock on the window of the car. I slowly rolled it down as I saw two cops looking in through the window.I raked my fingers through my hair, making the scattered strands slick back.âSir, ma'am. We're sorry, but sir, License and registration, please. Do you know why we're here?"âYes, cop, we understand. We were chasing a car. We're sorry, it'll never happen again.â I apologized. The second cop took over, "Chasing a car? At that speed? You're lucky you didn't collide with that truck. You were doing 80 in a 40 zone."."Officer, it-â.Tyler cut me off, "I know, officer
Chapter fifteen(The ride)Sapphire's Point Of View:My heart squeezed in my chest.âIt's over.â He stated. What?!"Tyler? Really? Just a little misunderstanding and you're ending a four year relationship?!â I raised my voice. He didn't respond or spare me a glance.âI should have known. I made a big mistake. How did I even expect such a pretender to put a ring on this finger? I wasted precious years of my life with you and I now regret every second!â I spat. He still didn't respond. I grabbed my bag and exited the car.âAre you going with me to the fucking gala or not?!" He shouted.Fucking fuck him!As I walked down the road, fighting back my tears, I could still feel his eyes on me but I didn't bother looking back, I didn't want him to realize I actually still cared.A midnight blue car slowed down by my side as I walked, ignoring it.âHey there, pretty. Need a ride?" I heard a guy's voice from inside the car.I didn't bother looking at his face as I didn't want him to notice my te
Chapter one(the night stand) Sapphire's Point Of View:âDrink up, Girl. It's my birthday!" Tiara, my best friend, shouted, her voice barely heard as the music was blasting from the speakers loudly. I nodded, clashing my glass against hers. I gulped it before letting out a sigh as it burned down my throat. She poured me another shot and was pouring hers when she immediately halted. She beat my arm repeatedly as her gaze was fixed behind me, her jaw hanging in the air. I slapped her hand off me before turning my neck, only to see three guys stepping in. They were triplets and I needn't lie, they were absolutely hot but not just my type. They seemed like the arrogant type which was exactly what I hated. âOh. My. God!" Tiara squealed, getting a groan from me. I returned my gaze back to her, rolling my eyes. "Don't tell me you're drooling over these ones again. You literally crush on every single guy you set your eyes on! Know your worth and stop chasing these roaches!â I shoute
Chapter two(Get married)Sapphire's Point Of View:âWhere are you at?" His question made my heart skip a beat.âIâŚwent to get something.âI lied."Oh. I see. I'm at your house now and I didn't find you. Your mum said she hasn't seen you since last night.â He replied.I waved at a taxi and he stopped before me. I stepped in.âUhhâŚ.yeah, yeah. I was at Tiara's birthday party. I lodged into the hotel last night since it was too late to return home. But I'm heading home, I stopped to get something on my way home.âI lied again."Sure. I'll be waiting.â He responded."No, no. You actually don't have to wait for me. I'll take quite a long time before I return. Besides, you should be at work, shouldn't you?â,âOh. Okay then, see you tonight, okay? And get home safe, your mum is worried sick.â He said."Sure. No problem. Thank you.â,"Bye. Love you.â.I blushed, "I love you more.â.Did I really? Did I actually love him? I just lied to him twice and I just slept with a man, a stranger at that. A
Chapter three(intertwined with the CEO)Sapphire's Point Of View:A sharp gasp escaped my lips in shock as mum's voice came from behind.âWhat are you doing here?" She asked. I turned immediately, closing the file.âI- you left your door openâŚâ I stuttered."thanks.â She said, I left the room immediately. My phone rang with a notification. I took it out and saw a message from MI AMOR.I read, 'Hey, Sapphire. You acted a bit off today, are you okay? You can always talk to me. Love you.â.My heart jumped as I read the content of the text. I took deep breaths before replying, âNothing, babe. Thank you. Love you too.â.~âOh. My. God! Yes!!" I screamed as I read the email.'Hello there, we hope this email finds you well. After much consideration and deliberation, we're pleased to announce to you that you successfully secured the job with us. You are to resume work by 8am, March 1st. The location is below:âMy heart skipped a beat at the date. That was today! Crap, I saw the email late. It
Chapter four(sex with a stranger) Landon's Point Of View: I rose up quietly, searching for the sheets, only to notice that bitch had left the hotel. I planned on having another round with her today but she left. Last night was amazing, that bitch wasn't so skilled but she made me feel what really great, the way I never felt with other ladies probably because this was my first time not using a condom. She seemed to be drunk last night which was an extra bonus for me, I did things to her, things that made me feel guilty of attempted murder. My phone rang as I got into my car. âDrive," I ordered the chauffeur who nodded before starting the engine. I answered the call. âHey, Kai.". He replied, âHey. Meet me at that popular bar. What's it called? Yeah, liquor bar.â. "It's too early to be at the bar.â. âI know you're mad at me. But just meet me there,âhe said before ending the call. "Liquor bar.âI said to my chauffeur. He took a sharp left turn immediately. I arrived
Chapter five(A god or demon)Sapphire's Point Of View:A smirk crawled on his face, his blue eyes pinning me again the same way they did a few days ago. My heart ran wild, my grasp tightening on my bag as I tried looking away but I couldn't for some reason. We were intertwined.âSit." He ordered, stretching out his hand to the seat across his. I nodded, flashing him a smile, âthank you, sir." I spoke so nicely that I couldn't help but wonder if it was truly me who spoke. The Sapphire I knew could never speak so nicely to a random man, especially one who I slept with.âCan we meet tonight?â He asked. His questions had my heart thumping hard against my ribcage. I began to stutter.âI-i- s-sure. Of course, I'll b-be here tonight.â I replied."No, no, not here. I mean in that same hotel.â He clarified. I averted his eyes for a while. âCourage, gorgeous.â He repeated those same words he said last night. âYou'll be safe." He added.I nodded, "B-but IâŚ.â"Perhaps my house will be fine then?â
Chapter six(childhood memories)Sapphire's Point Of View:I went home immediately the next day. Last night was one of the hottest nights ever. Mr. Landon exceeded my expectations. He did things to me, I knew it. Things I didn't expect him to do. Things I thought he was joking about.âI won't stop until you beg, until you cry.â I remembered his sexy words.I sighed as I got out of the taxi and went into the house. Mum was there in the living room with some snacks and a blanket as she watched the tv.Crap! I thought she wouldn't be home, but how could I have forgotten that she had no job.She noticed me and immediately sprang out of the couch. âWe have a threat!â She informed me.âWhen did I start taking the mafia family seriously?â I asked, laughing as I threw my bag on the couch. She stretched her hand and placed it on my shoulder. âI thought we talked about this. I understand you want a simple life but it's your responsibility right now, just for a few years. When you get married and
