Chapter eight(distance from him)
Sapphire's Point Of View: Her lips parted as her hand flew to her mouth. The tears finally dropped silently. âL-land- my ri-ng?" She stuttered, shaking in betrayal. âNow get out of my office!" Landon shouted, banging his hand on the desk. I saw the pain in Sonia's eyes and immediately felt sorry for her, even though I didn't really know what heartbreak felt like because Tyler was the only man I loved dearly enough to break my heart but he never dared to break my heart. âBut⌠Landon, I love you and you- love me too. What went wrong?....is. Is it because of her? I- I swear IâŚis this a prank?â She asked, years flowing out of her eyes uncontrollably. âI said. Get. Out. Of. My. Office. Now!!â He yelled, gritting his teeth. She flinched, weeping before scrambling her way out of the office reluctantly. I looked down at my lap, not saying anything. âYou okay?" He asked. Excuse me! How do you expect me to be okay after you just humiliated a human like that. A woman who obviously loved you, you literally used her! And you expect me to be okay! I'm sorry, but red flag! I forced a smile, nodding profusely, âYeah. I am". He sat back down, switching back into his sweet demeanor. He made me begin to wonder who exactly he was. Was he the sweet man he just showed me a few minutes ago or the toxic one he just displayed when Sonia walked in. What was he like? Did he use women and dump them? Did he love women? Or am I just special? Or did he not even care one tiny bit? I cleared my throat before speaking, âSo about the dressâŚ.â, âI don't think I like that design anymore actually. I want something different, something slender that will kiss my curves perfectly and not a cascading dress.â. âWhy? Is it because of Sonia?". I shook my head. âActually, IâŚ. the dress doesn't soothe my body type. It only soothes the hour Glass kind of body type and not the slendersâ. "Oh, I see.â I nodded. ~ After a gloomy day at work, it was time to go home. We spent more time at work than usual today and it was quite exhausting. It was 7:58pm and I was packing my bag. I knew I needed to go to the grocery store as there was nothing I would use to make breakfast. Mum was already worried sick and she's sent me long texts which I only opened but didn't reply to, I ignored all her million calls. It became so unbearable that I switched off my phone and tossed it into my purse. âLet me give you a lift home." Landon suggested, giving me some papers to put in my purse. I took them from him, folding them properly. I shook my head in denail, âNo, but thanks. I have somewhere to go before going home. You can go home and have some rest, you need rest.â. I knew I needed to distance myself from him. I tried faking that I was cool with him at least for today but I just couldn't. I needed some distance. Even though I wanted more of him, I didn't want to end up like Sonia. This was only a contract marriage right? And I wouldn't want to end up pregnant for him after a six month contract marriage. Also, it was evident he didn't like me, he was only using me to satisfy his selfish desires and I wasn't some slut who would let someone use me because I was blinded by infatuation. He held my arm suddenly, sending shivers down my spine. I let out a shallow breath, throwing my neck back. Focus, Sapphire, Focus! I jerked my arm away. âWhy have you been acting so grumpy since Sonia showed up.". I shook my head, âWhat do you mean, sir. You are my boss and THIS shouldn't be going on right? The contract isn't even on yet and it's just gonna be a contract.â I said, not sparing him a glance. He nodded without saying another word. I grabbed my purse. âHave a good night rest, sir.". I left the office. I got out of the elevator and headed out of the building. The building was already empty, every operation would be held in another headquarters that only operated during midnight. I hailed for a taxi and entered. The driver drove on the quiet road and it was about five minutes before I arrived home. I spotted a closed shop before I remembered that I was supposed to go to the grocery store which was a bit near but opposite the direction of my house. âCan I alight here please?âI asked the driver. "Yes, sure. That'll be fourteen dollars.". I brought out some money from my purse and gave him before alighting the car and walking away. The night was silent and chilly that I began to rub my arms from the chill. Only a few people were on the street and I began to feel nervous. I turned on my phone to reply to Mum's messages. 'I'll be home soon. I went to get some groceries.â. She immediately replied as if she's been waiting for me to type for ages, 'What! You almost killed me. Get the groceries and get home now!â. I didn't reply to her message. I went to reply Tyler's messages when i received a called from an unknown number. I picked it. âHello." I whispered, rubbing my arms as I walked towards the grocery store that I could finally spot far away. âCome to the warehouse now." I heard a masculine voice. My brows furrowed. "Warehouse? Who are you, please?". âTake a sharp turn by your left immediately.â The masculine voice commanded before the call ended. I looked to my left, looking into a quieter and darker road with absolutely no lights.Chapter nine(I chooseâŚ.)Sapphire's Point Of View:I looked to my left, looking into a quieter and darker road. For some reason, I heard this tiny voice in my head, 'Go, Sapphire.â. what the fuck?!I gladly followed the voice and went into the road that was as silent, dark and empty as a graveyard. As I walked in, I encountered multiple abandoned buildings.I saw a dimly lit space ahead, it was an opened warehouse. I entered the silent warehouse. It was so silent that my breath echoed in the space. But at least it was lit.A mysterious man emerged from the shadows. He had jet black hair that complimented his midnight blue eyes. His shoulders were broad, making him look more muscular than he actually was.He was quite tall with jaw-dropping looks, not just his looks were jaw-dropping, his enchanting eyes were manipulative. He wore black long leather jacket that reached his knees, they had long strips by the waist. Compliment with a black shirt, and black pants. He steadily approached
Chapter ten(terms and conditions)Sapphire's Point Of View:âI chooseâŚ..â. I sighed, rethinking my decision. I couldn't, I just couldn't choose. It was the toughest decision of my life. I swallowed hard as I thought about it.I didn't know who to choose. Who deserved my trust, just who? How would I know when I basically knew literally nothing about either of them! The only thing that makes a difference is I already had sex with one of them.âI chooseâŚ.. Landon.â I breathed out.I hoped I wouldn't regret my decision later on but I knew Landon and even though I knew he was toxic, it was better to go with him right? Rather than someone I barely knew, someone who was claiming to be the good guy and painting Landon as a bad guy.Yes, Landon was a bad guy, I could tell. But the devil you know is better than the angel you do not know right?I knew Landon would be able to protect me and those I care about but I didn't know this manâs capabilities. And although I knew my love life was at risk
Chapter eleven (date with Tyler)Sapphire's Point Of View:âIt seems it's time to open those legs for your fiance.â He whispered coldly.I shook my head. âNo, no, no. You can't do that! You can't force me to have sex with you when I'm not willing to. First thing tomorrow, we go meet your lawyer to erase that from the papers. It's a contract, it should be no sex instead. I'm not cheating with my boyfriend again.â."Your boyfriend or your fiance, who is more important.".I sighed, squeezing my eyes shut. âDon't get into my head. I am not letting you have sex with me.â."And if I say no?â."I can sue you for sexual assault, don't play silly games with me.â I said, wondering where I got such courage from. But yeah, I might have had sex with him before or allowed other shit but I wasn't myself then.I'm Sapphire, a baddie and I will not let a man use me like a slut like his other ladies.I grabbed my bag, âI'm sorry, sir. This meeting is going in a wild direction and I'm sorry but I have t
Chapter eleven(who's that?)Sapphire's Point Of View:I walked into his spread arms, grinning as I inhaled his astonishing aroma.âBabe." I called, dissolving in his arms. He planted a kiss on top of my head, âYes, honey. I know you miss me. I know you do, darling. I miss you as well.â.His words made my smile become wilder.âLove birds!" Mum's voice interrupted from behind me. Of course, as usual, the fun killer.I broke the hug, turning to face her. I let out a scoff before turning to Tyler again. He gave Mum a small smile before stretching forth his arm for me. I linked arms with him, following his lead to the exit.We soon arrived at a coffee shop, settling at our table. We both got a cup of coffee each, drinking slowly as we stared at each other, waiting for one of us to say something.Tyler cleared his throat before finally breaking the silence, âI really missed you and I wanted to hang out with you but the predominant reason I asked you to hang out with me, Sapphire, is general
Chapter 12(gala)Sapphire's Point Of View:âWhoâs that?â he asked.âWho?" I asked before pressing my lips into a thin line, hoping it wasn't what it seemed to be.âWho?" He asked me back. The cat got my tongue. âIt's Tiara." I lied, faking a smile.âYour fiance?" He said.My smile wavered, "IâŚit's just a little game we're playing and I was dared to do that. Don't bother, you trust me right? I don't become a lesbian, Tyler.â."Oh. I see. You should call her then. She seems to need you. Call her, I'd also love to speak with her. It's been a while you know and besides, I didn't send her greetings on her birthday.â He spoke.I pressed my lips into a thin line again, grabbing my phone from the table before opening Landon's text.'Where are you? Can we go on a date?â I saw his message.'No, fiance. I'm on a date with my boyfriend. Besides, those fake feelings should also go on holiday on weekends, please. You just got me in trouble.â.I waited for a while then he replied, 'We'll be attendin
Chapter fourteen (it's over)Sapphire's Point of view:'BAM!â My head hit against the airbag. I breathed heavily, raising my gaze as I pushed back the airbag. âAre you okay?!" Tyler asked. I nodded, sighing.I returned my gaze to the front of the car, luckily for us, our car didn't hit the truck. We were safe. The airbag only came out due to the sharp brakes.Pedestrians were on the road side, staring in shock.I heard a knock on the window of the car. I slowly rolled it down as I saw two cops looking in through the window.I raked my fingers through my hair, making the scattered strands slick back.âSir, ma'am. We're sorry, but sir, License and registration, please. Do you know why we're here?"âYes, cop, we understand. We were chasing a car. We're sorry, it'll never happen again.â I apologized. The second cop took over, "Chasing a car? At that speed? You're lucky you didn't collide with that truck. You were doing 80 in a 40 zone."."Officer, it-â.Tyler cut me off, "I know, officer
Chapter fifteen(The ride)Sapphire's Point Of View:My heart squeezed in my chest.âIt's over.â He stated. What?!"Tyler? Really? Just a little misunderstanding and you're ending a four year relationship?!â I raised my voice. He didn't respond or spare me a glance.âI should have known. I made a big mistake. How did I even expect such a pretender to put a ring on this finger? I wasted precious years of my life with you and I now regret every second!â I spat. He still didn't respond. I grabbed my bag and exited the car.âAre you going with me to the fucking gala or not?!" He shouted.Fucking fuck him!As I walked down the road, fighting back my tears, I could still feel his eyes on me but I didn't bother looking back, I didn't want him to realize I actually still cared.A midnight blue car slowed down by my side as I walked, ignoring it.âHey there, pretty. Need a ride?" I heard a guy's voice from inside the car.I didn't bother looking at his face as I didn't want him to notice my te
Chapter one(the night stand) Sapphire's Point Of View:âDrink up, Girl. It's my birthday!" Tiara, my best friend, shouted, her voice barely heard as the music was blasting from the speakers loudly. I nodded, clashing my glass against hers. I gulped it before letting out a sigh as it burned down my throat. She poured me another shot and was pouring hers when she immediately halted. She beat my arm repeatedly as her gaze was fixed behind me, her jaw hanging in the air. I slapped her hand off me before turning my neck, only to see three guys stepping in. They were triplets and I needn't lie, they were absolutely hot but not just my type. They seemed like the arrogant type which was exactly what I hated. âOh. My. God!" Tiara squealed, getting a groan from me. I returned my gaze back to her, rolling my eyes. "Don't tell me you're drooling over these ones again. You literally crush on every single guy you set your eyes on! Know your worth and stop chasing these roaches!â I shoute
