GRAY
Once the black limo arrived in front of his father's mansion. The back seat door where he currently resided in was gently opened by one of his Father's men servants dressed formally in their accustomed clothing; white shirt, black bow tie, a gold patterned rose design inscribed on their black jacket complemented with a pair of black blazing trouser.
As he alighted from the vehicle his blonde hair was immediately greeted by gentle waves of air streaming past his full pompadour haircut. His blue eyes roamed about the magnificent white encrusted building uninterestingly while he unbuttoned his tomato red suit allowing the material to sway gently in tune with the forces of nature. He was daring an all black attire; a turtle neck sweater on a pair of chinos complemented with Chelsea boots. Only his suit Jacket gave the hint of red and his shiny gold wristwatch that made him stand out.
He climbed the wide concr
ZOEYRice and chicken with a freshly dressed salad plus a glass of wine was served for dinner. While Gray simply ate in silence Zoey watched in despair as both families chewed on healthy conversations. Her Father and Mr. Robertson mostly talked business while the women shared their gists in low tones. They looked so happy and engulfed in their conversation which scared her all the more. This news she was about to drop would be a bombshell and a mood spoiler. Nevertheless, she decided to spill it out."I have something important to tell you all." She mumbled and then a sudden quietness followed suit. All eyes were on her at this point except for Gray who busied himself on his food."Gray and I are no longer together."
DANIEL"Last Card!" Idris yelled with discrete excitement coursing through his face. One would think he had the perfect Whot card to win the game regardless of whatever Daniel and Kayode played. Daniel rolled his eyes annoyingly while Kayode seemingly sighed, his right hand pacing back and forth on his forehead with a serious expression imprinted on his face. His eyes were wavering between his handful of cards in his hand and the layers of card on the dining table they all surrounded.Daniel wriggled his head at Kayode's delay in playing. Although he's been loosing throughout,it was just a game and he wondered why Kayode took it seriously;Perhaps due to the fact Idris had been winning all through or because Kayode was tired of loosing. Either ways,Daniel was beginning to get impatient."Go Gen,Go Gen,Go Gen,Go Gen!..." Daniel and Idris's jaw dropped as Kayode grinned devilishly while he played his tru
DANIELAnd so,this is how Daniel ended up in the mansion of the Lawrence's dressed in the dashing tux Zoey got for him. He looked to his left and was welcomed with the smiley face of Zoey. She was obviously way happy about this; Not the party though but the fact that he chose to settle the differences between them and deciding to attend this 'forsaken' party. She was dressed elegantly in a sexy Red Chiffon deep V-Neck long flowing dress which had a slit high enough to reveal her right thigh. Her Golden Brown hair was layered and wavy to the right and her silvery slim heels glittered as they walked through the crowd. Their arms intertwined. Her stunning make up and attire further astonished her toned skin, enough for the other dignitaries to stare. She was so flawless that he sometimes thought himself not worthy of her love.He loathed this place, the glittering, the people, the stares,in fact everything as he stepped into the
ZOEY"Darn it!" Zoey smashed her phone across the marble floor. Her anger and frustration were beginning to consume her from within. She had been phoning Daniel since the morning but apparently he was doing a great job ignoring her. She loathed herself for her mistakes; if she had informed Daniel earlier about her alliance perhaps these troubles could have been averted. But it was too late for regret now,her Father had marvelously victimized Daniel while Gray played the devil's advocate. She wondered how long her beloved would stay away from her. Just the thought alone kindled another wave of pain within."Trisha!" She blared as her back relaxed to one of her blue comfy sofa in the medium sized parlour. Her PA paced to the scenery of scattered pieces her phone."What happened!,Zoey?" Asked Trisha in a concerned voice while Zoey rubbed her forehead tiredly with her eyes shut."Get me a new
DANIEL"I talk am!..." Idris yelled, his voice indicating more of disappointment than the accustomed mocking tone. Daniel watched him tiredly from his bed as Idris gestured about the room."I told you guys, this girl is not to be trusted. But what did you do,Daniel?..." Idris continued to say while Kayode cleaned the furniture off dust but there were hardly any dirt. Kayode was simply trying to ignore Idris and the self denial he was feeling right now. "You were busy doing love in Tokyo, taking relationship advice from Mr. Kayode there who's never had any white girl as his girlfriend before!."Daniel sat up on the edge of the bed trying to contain the resentments Idris was fueling inside him again. For the past two days after the party's incident he didn't tell his friends about what happened and when he finally told them. This what's happening. Idris scorning and Kayode disappointed. It mad
GRAY Gray walked elegantly into his family's parlour with his parents and his sister rightly seated on separate couches. He adjusted his unbuttoned black suit jacket briefly before relaxing to one of the couches. He crossed his right leg over the other while his left fingers played with a big dice. He chose to ignore the hostility his family showed him; His Father was especially glaring while Mother chose to view magazines she was obviously not paying attention to and his sister...glued to her phone."At first I was beginning to take pride in your confidence the last time you came here but now...I realize you're an utter failure!." His Father bellowed while Gray smirked."You got us insulted, young man!. Above all,Zoey broke the alliance yet you still have the effrontery to reside over us like a K
"Remember,I don't want her to get seriously hurt.""Copy that." ZOEYIn the large office of Mrs. Johansson inscribed in one of the Johansson's skyscraper one could hear the vehement argument ongoing between mother and child. Her Mother's office was relatively large, well spaced and ventilated rewarded with a large glass wall that bestowed an astonishing view of other buildings and the bustled streets of New York. The room was simple styled;Gray coloured that appeared faintly almost blending with the light rays beaming from the large glass wall. At the front of this wall, lay a black desk that held a laptop, some few files arranged in an orderly manner,an exotic lampstand and swivel chairs accompanying alongside. And at the far end of the room sideways the desk lay a comfy black couch, glass encrusted stool, rooted finely on the luxurious gray rug.Today Zoey had planned on making her point w
DANIEL In the early hours of the morning,Daniel had strolled for a walk down the street. Usually,he would hang his camera around the neck and wear a countenance that defined optimism but this day was different. In fact,it started on a bad note. He was burdened. He and his friends had only one day left to exit their apartment,he also lost his job,Idris is still furious at him and seemingly disappeared yesterday,Kayode was busy looking out for apartments they could afford. He understood all this misfortunes were his fault which was why he had called Zoey severally. In hope for her to help but when none of those calls came through,he concluded it was time to let go. She had moved on and he had been the victim of heartbreak. All of his depressive thoughts changed when he accidentally bumped into a woman. Isabella, Louis's wife."Isabella?,my goodness what are you doing here in New York?." Daniel asked with heavy dose of
DANIELPARISDaniel dressed his son,John, in the same outfit he was donning. A classic short sleeves dark blue T-shirt layered with a dark green bomber jacket. On a blue slim fit jean and black Chelsea boots to complement it all. He shot his son a bright smile once he had finished dressing him up."There! My little Johnny looks stunning." Daniel gestured with a wink while John grinned sheepishly. The boy's eyes flowed to Funke who stood behind them."Mommy!" John pulled away from his grasp and up to his mother. Daniel arose to his stance shooting his divorced wife a faint smile. They've been divorced for two months now but they still went on vacations together. Only for John's sake. During this months,he resigned from his managerial position and resumed his work in photography. He was also based in New York with his son while Funke remained in Nigeria with a working class job. H
DANIEL As Daniel stared into the Camera Zoey bought for him eight years ago, memories of yesterday flashed. How she retained her ever graceful beauty. Except for the changes which he still fancied. Her long straightened black hair she notably dyed. The rest were just the same;her petite body, those Hazel eyes that glittered and her soft voice which always melted his heart. There was also the sadness accompanied with her smile. It signified how much pain and suffering she had faced over the years. She might not have noticed it but he did. Daniel's mind travelled to the walk and conversation they shared at a garden. He realize her perspective towards issues had changed too. She had grown pessimistic and overly stiff towards him. It was bound to happen anyway. After so many misunderstandings and long years apart, she was right to distrust him. His hands curled into a fist when he remembered all the sufferings she
ZOEY"I must say you've changed drastically." Daniel mumbled as they walked down the street with cups of Coffee in their hands. She arched her eyebrows briefly."The same can be said for you too." She remarked."Oh well, thanks to my past life." He smiled but she ignored it. Choosing to pay attention to even the slightest act he orchestrated. "I have a son." He muttered in a solemn tone. "John,a six year old." His eyes were fixed upfront. She knew he wasn't ready to face her from the guilt that consumed him. On the other hand, she was shocked and failed miserably in handling the bombshell. There was also the pain that sprang up in her chest too."Congrats." Was all she could force her nerves to say. He gazed at her."That didn't come from your heart." He remarked."And how do you know that?" She retorted. Her palms secretly clenching.
DANIEL As the plane landed on the cold floor of New York, all Daniel could think of was the day before. How his Mother had argued vehemently against his decision and Funke crying helplessly. Looking pathetic in her pleas levied to him. Regardless,he didn't waver on his decision. And to avoid further troubles,he decided to move to New York under the pretence of work urgency. Of course Funke had done a lot for he and his family but that didn't warrant love. The moment he had gotten his memories,he realized who his heart belonged to. Zoey Johansson. On a normal day,Daniel would have chosen to pay his friends a visit. But today trailed a different path. Zoey was his only priority. He thirsted to see her,how she has been faring, what work she was up too and above all,the changes she embraced over the years. Thinking about the good times together brought a smile to his face and more than ever he wished to reliv
DANIEL° "Mommy don't tell you're proposing a marriage between Funke and I?" He lifted his eyebrow in a quizzical manner. "What does it look like I'm doing? You've stayed abroad long enough and you're beginning to loose your touch with culture." "That's not enough reason mommy. Besides,I'm not ready for any marriage wahala." "She's a good girl, you both are compatible. Ko si wahala Kan Kan" "And how do you know that?. She's not one I'll even approve to be honest." "Wait, wait,is it that you already have someone else in mind?"
DANIEL"Where are you?!"Daniel sighed, glaring wearily at his iPhone that brightened from his wife's message that popped on his screen. He tossed his phone across his desk from mild irritation.Eight years. Within a span of this period a lot had happened, things had changed. He could start with him rising to a managerial post in one of GT bank's head office. All appraisal to Funke. Back then, he had appreciated her efforts and affection for him until his mother proposed the idea of marriage. He disagreed vehemently but as time passed with Funke continuing her sweet actions. Pressure from both sides,he eventually succumbed for one reason. To repay the debts as she had already done a lot for he and his family. His marriage was blissful when it just bloomed. Although as it aged,Joy became a news of the past, peace ceased to reign. All that replenished their marriage was ceaseless arguments and
ZOEY Zoey started her day with heavy drinking but she need not to worry. Her body had already grown accustomed to this new habit. It wasn't anyone's fault though, she only blamed herself for being weak. Weak to face life and it's harsh reality. Her days of childhood were spent in pampering by her parents. Even when she had grown into a young adult, her life basically still defined pampering. Everything she wanted was at ease. She didn't have to go through life's struggles and hustles be it. But soon that sweet life changed the moment the first love of her life changed drastically. From the most loving man to a monster in disguise. Then her life migrated from Gray to Daniel. The most adorable, sweetest, caring and handsome man she's ever seen. She smiled sadly staring at the photo album he had gifted her on Christmas. Dated to that day,she had vowed to treasure it and keep the memories that came along with this gift in her heart. But loo
DANIEL"That was for kissing me last night without my permission." His calm tenor voice came out seductive yet thrilling in a way. She let out the chill air residing in her throat as his gaze were still strongly locked to hers and his face inching closer by every second appreciating the beauty her face beheld."And this..." That sweet tune escaped his lips again. He looked at those Hazel eyes again. Innocent and pure."Is for stealing my heart." He finally finished his statement and without further ado. He smashed his lips against hers again. Her moans weren't given much liberty to escape her throat as his tongue had found it's way to hers. Intertwining passionately, both basking in their lustful sensations and struggling for domination. Then another blurry memory played in his head.H
FUNKE The morning was peaceful but she was at war. Daniel's mother had gone to the market while Uncle B busied himself with his usual business;drinking and chasing after women with his friends. Leaving her with Daniel who was still asleep in his room. Days had passed since she last visited nor even spoken to Daniel. She was only here due to his mother's request. The feeling of rejection was still there. Her love for him could be dated back to their secondary school days. When she had bumped into him from obliviousness at the library. Their array of books had clashed and crashed to the marble floor but he didn't take offence. Rather,he had expressed the most brightest and heartwarming smile she had ever seen. Scooping her book gently and arranging them in a straightened order. She had apologized countlessly for her actions but he maintained his countenance, apologizing instead. It was that smile, that care and warmth i
