The Arrangenment.

A>K Styles. "I do not want to hear any complaints or opposition concerning the matter and in case you haven't noticed, my Empire, my rules. Question me and you'd get it, do you really want to try that?" the young lady seethed as fury burned in her eyes. The workers who were seated shook their heads as every one of them knew what the boss was capable of doing. "We have the prototypes for the next project, the sketches, the materials, everything needed for the production of the next designs so explain to me why you're prolonging the process by waiting around doing nothing or do I remind you that I do not like waiting around?" Eleonora Ricci looked fearsome and no one wanted to be the unlucky person to fall into her trap. "I want this project done by tomorrow 8:00 am sharp." Eleonora stood up from her seat and walked right out of the room with her head held high. She couldn't believe the type of workers she had. Why were they being so lazy when there was so much work to do?! She sashayed down the hall with her black high-waist trousers and long sleeve white blouse matched with the thick ankle boots. Her raven strands flew behind her in their natural and shiny curls. As she passed, the staff cleared the way for her. The woman was trying to keep her anger in check because if she had her way she wouldn't hesitate to paint the room red without thinking twice. She swung the door to her office with annoyance but was shocked to see the room wasn't empty. "Mama, Papa? What are you doing here?" Eleonora asked with furrowed eyebrows. "If you came all the way from New York down here then it must be serious."

She walked into her office, perplexed to see her parents in her office after so long. "It is indeed a serious matter that we have come to discuss with you Eleonora and this matter affects your life for the next two years," the old man muttered with a grave tone. He was dressed in his usual sleek grey pants with a blue cotton vest shouldered by the matching grey suit jacket. Mr Vito Ricci looked older than the last time she saw him, his grey hair strands peeking out more than usual but he still had the devilish alluring looks from his youth making him look like aged fine wine. Meanwhile, the woman standing next to him was a full decade younger than him by looks rather than age. She was dressed in a skin-tight navy blue gown which stopped before her knees. Her short brown hair was resting by her chin. They both helped themselves with a seat on the sofa in her office. Her mother clasped her hand over her father's immediately. From a fair distance, they seemed to be the perfect couple. The strict but warm husband and the ever-supportive and loving wife with a pampered only daughter. "What is it then?" Eleonora asked as she moved to stand behind one of the chairs.

Seeing the two people making themselves comfortable and trying to act as if they were one of the perfect happy families in the world made Eleonora sick to her stomach. They were nothing close to perfect or happy. A bogus image just for the eyes watching. "It's about your marriage," Rosaline, Eleonora's mother announced as she looked up at her daughter. The room rang in silence for a moment before it was broken by a shrill yelp. "I'm sorry, my what now?!!" Eleonora felt as if she was in a horror movie right now, the ghost haunting her memory and moving to harm her and all she wanted was to stop playing the movie itself. "My marriage?! When did I ever agree to a marriage with not one but the two of you?! I do not have a death wish and I didn't hit my head hard enough to actually lose my direction that I'd come to ask you two to set me up with someone." Eleonora belted out with the pending rage coming up with a full blast. She just had to deal with her incompetent workers and now, her parents were here unannounced and spewing gibberish. She pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration. "We know you have always refused to talk about relationships but you are already twenty-five and fit enough for marriage and besides, I want grandchildren soon." This time, her father chipped in Eleonora rolled her eyes at that and muttered. "You two could barely make time to spend with your own child and now you want grandchildren?! Who are you two trying to dish responsibilities to?" The lady glared at the two people sitting in front of her. The sudden urge to strangle something or someone overcame her. "We know we weren't always there for you and we were not the best parents but we worked hard for your sake, to provide for you." Vito tried to soften her heart with his words but she scoffed. Eleonora had heard that many times to know that the man was trying to guilt trip her. "Worked hard for my sake? Really? Is that what you tell yourselves to help you sleep at night or do you really want to try to convince me with that? I asked for none of this, I am grateful but I would've appreciated it if I could see my parents more times than I did while growing up and just so you know. I am not marrying anyone." Eleonora spat, glaring at her parents without batting her eyelids even once. They couldn't just barge into her life and try to make a lifetime decision for her!! It doesn't work that way! "You know this just proves my point that you do not plan to get married anytime soon but for your information, there is no room for negotiation." Rosaline forced out as her eyes watched her daughter's every movement like a hawk watching its prey. "Yes, I do know that there is no negotiation because this is my life we are talking about here. My happiness, my freedom and a lot more concerning me for the rest of my life. You are just forcing the decision on me as if we had planned this decades ago." Eleonora knew there was no out in the decision but she wanted to know why. Heaven knows she'd take the matter to court just to get out of this insanity. "It's just for two years, not ten years." Rosaline shrugged nonchalantly making Eleonora's blood boil. Hasn't she heard of the phrase time is money?! Whose time was she trying to waste here?! "Easy for you to say, I'm not the one telling you to throw your life away for two whole years." Eleonora couldn't believe what she was hearing. "That's enough! The wedding will happen so you better come to terms with that fact sooner than later." Her father's voice was stern, just like the other times he had enforced a decision on her without prior notice. Her parents were really giving her no space to breathe in this. "Alright, then who is the scumbag I am getting married to?" She crossed her arms across her chest. Eleonora thought 'If you can't beat them, join them.' She was using that right now to keep her sanity. "Viccorio Russo." As soon as the name left her mother's mouth, she froze as though she had been shot in the leg.

"Viccorio Russo?! Are you two out of your minds? You know I hate that man's guts and I can't stand him at all so please tell me why you chose to make me marry him out of the billions of people in this world. Right now I'd rather marry a beggar than him," Eleonora belted out with rage.

She could feel a headache with more weight than the others coming so she knew that she had to get rid of her parents before they jumped right into questioning her and fussing over her as though they cared.

"No we are not out of our minds miha, you have to understand that this was decided a long time ago and we always keep our commitments," Rosaline sighed as she tried to explain to her daughter but the lady wasn't having it.

"So what you are saying is that I am being used as the human sacrifice to save your asses over some commitment you made on probably a drunken night with friends?!

I get to lose two years of my life. Do you even know what that means?" Eleonora blasted out.

"We are talking about 24 months, 104 weeks, 730 days and, 17520 hours here! It might not seem like such a long time but it is to me, you two just gotta be kidding me." Eleonora grabbed a pen and paper from the table calculating the entire time she'd spend.

Of course, her parents just had to trust the raven-haired woman to do the math while they internally palmed themselves, they couldn't understand why she had a damn pen in front of her. Oh right, she was the CEO. For one's business to be successful, one has to be able to make crucial calculations in life and Eleonora was a typical example of that. Not only was she a genius in the subject, but she also was a great businesswoman thanks to it as well, which was why she was highly recommended and respected. Anyone who made her go through the rigorous process of calculating would have to deal with her wrath and she would make their job ten times harder. She looked up after she was done with the calculations. "And I make a minimum of 80 million per anum, added to the stress, distractions and psychological damage I will get from this all, there is a 49.8 % chance of me losing about 10% of my wealth just because of this!" She hissed, not happy with the results at all. "Mi Nina, it's not that l

The older woman had her hair long jet black hair braided in a ponytail that highlighted her gorgeous face. She was in the same age range as Eleonora's parents but she looked way younger than the both of them put together. Her blue eyes stood out, complementing her sharp jaw line and defined collar bones, she was fairly muscular and it'd come as a surprise to anyone that the woman didn't work out but it was obvious to see that she was pretty sporty in her high school and college days."Hello, baby. How are you and how was work today?" Her soft voice asked.Josephine rubbed soothing circles on Eleonora's back. It was easy to do that since she was almost Eleonora's height and Eleonora was a tall woman who was almost 6 ft tall."Hey, Josy. I am exhausted and all I want to do is cuddle with you while drifting off to sleep and about work, I'd just say same old, same old, only that today was added with a twist because the demon and the demoness came to visit," Eleonora scoffed."And they gav

Meanwhile, unknown to the two people in the movie theatre, Rosaline was standing just outside the place when she saw both of them all cuddled up.Her stomach turned instantly because she wanted her daughter to hold her like that. Even just for once but she knew better that it won't happen, not anytime soon at least. She wanted movie dates with her daughter, spa time, shopping sprees, and cooking competitions with her daughter but the young woman wouldn't even look in her direction for more than a minute.Rosaline wanted a relationship with her child but also knew that she'd have to work hard for it. After all, she wasn't always there so her coming all of a sudden to try to win Eleonora will only make her suspicious given her nature. She quietly left where she was standing to go get the bottle of water she originally planned to get before seeing her daughter and Josephine. The next day, Eleonora woke up to a sleeping Josephine beside her and she used the time to thank the heavens for b

The funny part was that she made the second route for a completely different purpose and now it was coming to very good use.She smiled to herself as she walked through the turns. She finally got to her room and got ready for work, noting that today she had to just bear with her parents before leaving for work and then she'd see them again later by the time she returned from work. She just hoped that they didn't decide to show up in her office once again because no one would stop her from just outrightly screaming at them once things got too much.Eleonora finished her usual morning routine and had a shower before quickly drying up and slipping into her retro dark blue suit pants with a matching dark blue turtleneck long-sleeve shirt. With some diamonds spluttered here and there but not too much for an official outfit, she wore her jacket and snatched her eight-inch stiletto heels from the floor where she placed them.Wearing her shoes and making her hair into a simple sleeked back po

How dare she talk to him like he was her subordinate? The audacity! He was her father for crying out loud! Father! Not her mere employee so of course, the man was annoyed beyond redemption but he contained himself because of the woman who was trying her hardest to please their daughter. After what Eleonora said the night before it seemed as if something went off in his wife's brain because the woman argued with him and even threatened him when he tried to reprimand her.He didn't care about anything his wife decided to come up with because he had never made a mistake in the way he trained Eleonora but of course, Eleonora will beg to differ on that one."Mother, can you answer me or do I have to finish my food first before you do?" Eleonora smiled a bit as if she didn't just indirectly insult her mother. Not blatantly insulting but her father wouldn't agree with that."I do not know why you even thought for a second that I will try to poison you but-" Rosaline was interrupted just when

"Back to what I was staying, the chef tasted the meal I prepared and was absolutely speechless for a few minutes and the servants there with us at that time thought that he had a minor heart attack because the man was immovable and only kept blinking his eyes every now and then and when they tried to take the plate from him, he nearly punched someone," Rosaline laughed as she remembered that time "Don't touch my plate, fat heads! He would say, Rosaline, the dish you made is absolutely spectacular in looks and taste. I must say that I am proud to have you as a student but now you have graduated and you passed beautifully," She smiled. "The chef was delighted as he said that and you could see how happy and proud he was from the look on his face. He had the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face and because of that I was able to see the set of pearl white teeth he had but was hiding underneath the scowl wore all the time I went

After the curt answer, my father looked me straight in the eye and repeated it one more time as if to solidify his rejection before he stood up from the head chair and stalked menacingly towards me. "You will in no way study that downgrading course, do you hear me?!" My father barked at me. "What a waste of time and talent! I have not spent so much time investing in you just for you to tell me that you want to go into cooking like a damn lowlife! I didn't raise a nobody chef you hear me? You are going to study business at the university once you finish high school and you are going to write applications to all the universities which will be my choices set for you, and then after your years in university you will marry my friend's son Vito and that's that!" Eleonora never lacked anything material-wise and when it came to the matter of her parents' love and affection, she didn't lack there because she had Josephine there to make up for it when her parents decided she was just an item that could be picked and dropped anytime they felt like it. Josephine cuddled Eleonora who was harshly wiping the tears off of her face, she had told herself time and time again that she wouldn't cry for her parents, her father especially but here she was wiping the remaining evidence left to prove that she was just bawling her eyes out because of her parents. The woman who had a slight bulge under her eyes raised her head to look at Josephine and the latter smiled at her encouraging her to try the whole smiling game and she did it, she offered a slight smile to her favourite person in the world while Josephine pat her back while rubbing circles as well, making her calm down instantly. The woman got to the private estate after thirty minutes of driving luckily she didn't kill anyone on her way or else that would have been a whole lot of work on its path but of course what else can one expect from an experienced street racer, though Eleonora doesn't go to the streets to race anymore she still got the adrenaline in her veins so she uses every opportunity she gets to drive as her personal race. When she got to the private estate, entry wasn't a problem because Viccorio already put arrangements in place before hand and she was already known as his wife so she didn't need to go through so much trouble. Eleonora drove in parking her car at the front close to the fountain, she turned off her engine and alighted the car. When she got down she was faced with the blinding sun which made her walk into the villa in a rush so her eyes could be saved, unlike outside the villa was cold a complete contrast the outside with the air conditioners working actively making the whole vil

''You really don't have to do what you want to do now if you are not ready to do it now you know? No one will kill you or say anything and even if they do there is nothing they can do about it.'' The woman said as she tried to soothe Rosaline while the woman just exhaled in response.''I feel like I am just a stranger to the whole parenting thing, I am worried and I want to help make sure my daughter get some rest and make sure that her husband is looking after her but there is only so much I can do and with the whole Vito thing as well I am just worried about everything at this point and I honestly don't know how you are so calm with everything that is going on because I feel like I am in a maze where things are just going wrong left right and center and I can't control it meanwhile I just want the best for my daughter and for us to build the bond we never had before it is too late. Joesphine knew how to handle the situation because she had faced similar situations with Elly before especially when she was a raging hormonal teen who argued when she was on her period or woke up in a bad mood after Josey woke her up to get ready for school. Yup that was definitely gonna be a non peaceful day and if the Heavens just decided to bless Josey (note the sarcasm) then that day Eleonora will wake up on the left side of the bed yup it'd be war. Those days seemed so far away now but it felt like yesterday for Josephine who remembered everything like the back of her palm, Elly remembers but of course adulthood be kicking ass so she doesn't exactly have the leisure of remembering certain things. As Rosaline lost herself in her head thinking about everything that happened leading to that moment Eleonora didn't let her be lost for long because she pulled her out of her reverie when she called out to her inviting her to join them in the hug, 'the more the merrier' as she put it. The invitation was all Rosaline needed as a full smile crept its way to her lips, she immediately got up not minding her bruises she joined them in the hug and they willingly let her in wrapping their hands around her as well and pulling her in Rosaline felt loved and safe and that was a feeling she felt she lost a long time ago but thanks to Josephine she was able to feel that way again and she was thankful for her little family who she knew would do anything for her unlike someone she knew if you can just take a guess at who the scum bag of a person happened to be. ''The difference between me and you amongst all other things is that you are quick to judge and belittle your opponents while you think you have the upper hand and that will always be the fatal mistake you make which wil eventually lead you to your death.'' Eleonora said and she didn't let what she said register in the man's brain before she quickly turned to the table grabbing the gun she kept beside the tray earlier when she just walked out of the kitchen, she aimed it at his leg and pulled the trigger immediately effectively injuring him and rendering him useless just like she wanted the whole time. Rosaline was finally free hence she ran to her daughter and pulled her to herself as she wept endlessly not even attempting to hold back but of course Elly couldn't just stand back and watch her mum weep helplessly with the nasty bruises her scumbag of a father had inflicted on her mother. She looked at the older woman and gave her a reassuring smile as she turned to Josephine. ''Josey

''I am begging you two to forgive me and just give me another chance even if its the last one I promise I will make it worth while.'' Vito begged as he tried to gain some favor and sympathy from Eleonora but the woman who just couldn't care less turned a deaf ear to all he said as she spared her mother who was seated across her father a glance. ''You can beg from now till eternity, that is honestly your problem because I couldn't care less but the forgiveness you are searching for you won't get it from me if you think you can or thought you could then you really need to go do your homework again because I am not that forgiving of people who hurt me much more my family and scratch the fact that you are my father I won't hesitate to take care of you if you tempt me to do so.'' While two men could leisurely drink themselves to drunkeness, the same couldn't be said for everyone because while on one side of town somewhere two old men were drinking to their celebrations on the other side of town a young woman stayed cooped up in her office till the early hours of the morning when she received an incoming phone call with the number private and unknown making the woman alert of anything and everything. She cautiously accepted the call slowly placing the phone on her ear as she listened in waiting for whoever the caller was to speak first . ''I see you are still at work my workaholic wife, last night was supposed to be our wedding night but instead you ditched me to go be with your work. It won't be good to have two workaholics in one place, we'd have to work on that when we meet.'' Viccorio said in his deep hoarse voice as he awaited a reply from the other end of the line. ''Since when do you care about wedding nights and me being a workaholic? I may not know y

I'm sure you know me so there is no need for the introduction, I have two requests. One, we are married hence we should be living together as a couple, two, we'd lay low for now and then announce our marriage when we deem it fit. Are we okay with the arrangements?'' That evening after Viccorio made his choice Butler Chu swiftly sent Rosaline a message informing her of the new information and urging her to get ready as soon as possible which gave the older woman mixed feelings because on one hand she personally felt Viccorio would be a good husband to her daughter but on the other hand she didn't want her daughter to face the messed up situation she did in her own arranged marriage. Viccorio on the other hand could choose whoever he wanted without breaking a sweat ad as one of the most handsome men in the city, he could have any woman he wanted with a snap of his finger but his priority ws getting the old man at home off his back knowing he won't have to face more troubles in the future.
