A few days passed, and Stefan and I only had face time. Sometimes he visits the house and always brings food. Allison and Stella didn't ask me anymore because it was obvious that Stefan was making moves on me. Mommy already knows about that because she was the first one I told about, and she supports what I want.

The day of our outing came, and my two sisters were very excited while I was just chilling. Since we haven't seen Stefan in person for a few days, I will admit that I miss him. I miss his smell so bad.

The last time we talked was yesterday because he was on an outing and would update me from time to time. That's fine, so he can really enjoy his summer vacation.

"Why do you look so lethargic, girl? Come on! Cheer up!" Clara told me.

Today is our flight to Boracay. Our flight was early, so she and Josiah slept here just last night. I should have been happy because we were going to stay in Boracay because I knew Stefan's friends were talking about that, but I was suddenly sad whe

I frowned when I saw that it was Leona, Jackson's girlfriend. I even looked behind her because she might be with Jackson, but I didn't see him. I just avoided looking at her and continued what I was doing when I saw her wiping with her towel, because it didn't look like she was aiming for me there."Why are you here, Eli?" she asked me."What do you mean?" I asked her while frowning."I mean, why did you come here to our friend's outing? Is it because you knew Jackson was going to be here?" she said one after another with a sarcastic voice."Excuse me?" I raised my eyebrows and asked her."For your information, I'm the one who set up this outing for my sisters and our friends. I should be the one who asks that question because, as far as I know, I never invited you two," I told her one after the other.I could see the shock in her eyes, as if she couldn't believe what she heard from me. I smirked at her and raised my eyebrow again."Another thing is, I don't really have a problem if y

Jackson left, and I was left outside our villa. I frowned, wondering why Stefan hadn't come there yet. When I realized I didn't have my phone with me, I went back into the villa to get it.It was on my bed, and I noticed it right away because it was lighting up. I saw Josiah calling me, so I answered it right away."Why?" I asked when I answered his call. It's loud in the background, and it looks like they're already inside the bar. I was in agony and turned around because they might have left something there."What's the reason? Why are you taking too long? Clara was still finding you a while ago," Josiah answered me."I'm still waiting for Stefan," I said."What? Wait, I can't hear you; I'll just go outside for a while," he said one after the other.I sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. I also looked at the door and knew that Stefan would knock on it in a few moments."What did you say again? Come here! You're the only one who's not here," said Josiah. The noise in his background

"Aren't they going to find us?" I asked Stefan when he let go of kissing me for a moment. He shook his head and looked down at my lips. He leaned forward to bring our bodies closer together."Don't think about them. They're having fun there, so that's how we are here," he answered.I couldn't speak again. He held my nape and kissed me softly. It was very different from our first kiss. I grabbed his shoulder because I was weak from what he was doing, and I felt his every kiss.Whatever Stefan and I are doing now, I truly love it. I never felt this with Jackson because we never did it when we were together. He stopped kissing my lips and started giving feathery kisses on my jaw down to my neck. I craned my neck to give him more access. It makes me blush, and I feel more turned on by his soft kisses.I can also hear my weak moan because of the sensation he is giving me now.He returned the kiss to my lips as my hand that was holding his shoulder came down from his chest and caressed him

I really have no escape from Clara because what I am doing now has been her work before. In the following days, we did the same thing. We went scuba diving and island-hopping. I'm so happy because that happens only once when we're only with our friends.Jackson didn't even approach me anymore because he seemed to realize that what he was doing by approaching me was wrong. Meanwhile, his girlfriend, Leona, is still mad at me. She always talks to me about Jackson, and it's obvious to her that she doesn't like me.Instead of fighting her challenges with me, I prefer to keep quiet and ignore her rants. It's our last day here today; we were so tired from all the activities we did yesterday, which is why the others just rested. We didn't have any activity today, apart from buying souvenirs to give to our other friends."So, what's your plan after this? We still have one week of vacation," Stefan said to me.We're at the souvenir shop today, and I'm looking at something I can buy for Mommy.

"You bitch! How dare you hurt me!" Leona continued to shout. I'm out of breath because of the fight between the two of us. I looked at Stefan, who was supporting me and helping me up there. "What's happening?" Allison asked curiously. "Are you all right?" Stefan immediately asked me. I didn't answer right away, and I looked at Leona evilly. Jackson and the rest of their friends were holding her now to stop her from starting with me. I removed the sand that had been put in my clothes."What did you do again, Leona?" Jackson asked, annoyance in his voice. Leona gave him a bad look, then tried to remove the hands that were holding her. "Let me go!" Leona said angrily, then looked at me. I kept looking at her, then I grinned to tease her even more."What happened? Why are you two fighting?" Allison asked again. "Eli!" she called me. I took a deep breath before answering. "Why don't you ask, Leona? She's the one who started harassing me. She's making an issue to defame me," I ex

It happened so fast, and days passed. We are back in Manila, and we have been busy with our respective lives. There is one more week before we go back to school, so we really made the most of it with Allison. I go to their parties, and I don't even see Jackson with them anymore. Maybe they will avoid it when they know that I am with Allison's friends on their night out. Stefan, on the other hand, was able to go to Singapore because he could not refuse his siblings. That's okay, because he seems to want to be with them. Still, no one knows that Stefan and I are really in a relationship. All they know is that we are still in the talking stage. I can't even explain what I feel, just that I suddenly felt as if I didn't want to lose Stefan by my side, and I'm slowly falling in love with him. "Are you going to the party now?" Allison asked me. Gretchen, one of Allison's friends, is having a party today. She invited us to be there, and I planned to go with my friends. She said that I sh

  • Betraying the Heiress   Chapter 36

We went to Gretchen's party when we got there at seven p.m. It's her birthday, and she has many guests from our campus and other campuses. It looks like we have a lot of students to meet there. "Eli! Did you see Jayson? He's the one who used to like you," Clara said to me. Sge and Stella are with me now because Allison has already joined her friends. "How about him?" I asked her, frowning. "Duh! I saw him here," she answered. I rolled my eyes because I wasn't interested in what she was saying. "Yeah, and I also saw Bricks from another campus. Did he like you too, right?" Stella asked. I shook my head and held my breath. What about me, if they are here? "I remember Jackson and Bricks almost fighting!" Clara said, laughing. My eyes widened, and I tapped her lightly to make her stop. Maybe someone overheard us there and thought we were talking about those men. "Stop it, Clara, and stop mentioning their names," I said. She and Stella looked at each other, then laughed at me. Th

"So, you and Jackson broke up? If you don't mind, may I ask what happened?" Bricks asked me. I sighed and just laughed it off before shaking my head at him. "It was a long story. Maybe I should say that our relationship didn't work out?" I said, then shrugged. I know all the people who witnessed Jackson and my love back then don't know what really happened or why we broke up. I'm just tired of explaining to them and telling them one by one, so I prefer to just say that our relationship didn't work out, which is also true. Bricks and I were interrupted when his other friends called out to him. He took me there and introduced me. "I know you. You're Allison's sister," said a woman there. I think they are all fourth-year students. They are not familiar to me because they are also studying at another campus. Bricks' introduced me to his friends, and they gave me some shots there. We also took a picture there, and I can say that their company was enjoyable. "Thank you, Bricks. I'll

"Won't your boyfriend be angry? I can explain to Yasmin that you can't join us," Stefan said as we walked to Yasmin's hospital room.I shook my head and smirked a little because he really believed that Lance was my boyfriend."There's nothing to be angry about. Don't mind about it, Stefan. It's okay. I assure you," I told him, and he smiled. He sighed and shook his head at me, as if I couldn't convince him that it was all right for me."I just don't want you to fight because of this," he answered when we finally entered Yasmin's room.I saw Yasmin's frown when she looked at us; that's why I smiled at her, because she seemed to have heard the last thing Stefan said."Get angry? Who gets angry? Is your mommy taking you away from us, Doc?" Yasmin asked one after the other.I quickly shook my head at her and looked at Stefan, who led me to walk. He immediately went straight to the table and put the paper bag he was carrying there."No, it's not her mother, Yasmin. I just said that, becaus

"Come on, Eli. Tell me the truth. I won't be angry if you and Stefan get back together again," Josiah scolded me.I sighed and raised an eyebrow at him. I told him earlier that Stefan and I didn't get back together, but he didn't want to believe that."Stop it, Jos. We just talked. That's it," I answered him.We are now walking to a restaurant near the hospital. As usual, even when I'm outside, I know there are bodyguards following me. It was already dinner time, so we decided to eat outside because we had duty all night."Talked? You said that you already talked. I've seen you two talking so many times that's why you can't use an excuse that word to me," he said one after another as if he didn't really believe what I was saying.I shook my head again because I didn't know how I could convince him that Stefan and I really just talked earlier."If you don't want to believe me, then you better ask him by yourself. We really just talked for our closure, and we also talked about the false

After coming from the precinct, I went straight to the hospital. Josiah immediately approached me to ask what happened."Stella mentioned to me that you are from the precinct. How are you? Have you talked to your dad's twin brother?" Josiah immediately asked me.I nodded and sighed."Yup. I have also introduced them to Tito Adler, and we still get to know him," I answered.Josiah nodded at me before he fixed his laboratory coat. He was about to speak, but he turned his gaze behind me, which made me frown, and looked at it.I saw Stefan approaching us; that's why I held my breath."I'll just check on some of my patients. I'll come to your office later," Josiah said, then immediately left.I panicked for a moment because I didn't expect him to leave right away, but I calmed myself down."Doc Eli," Stefan called me.I kept looking at him, and I could see the doubt in his eyes, as if he wasn't sure if he should approach me now.I cleared my throat and stood properly before I spoke."Mr. E

"How can you not know about that, Mom?" Allison asked."My gosh! If he hadn't introduced himself, I might have believed that it was Dad!" Stella said one after the other."How can I know about that? Your Daddy never mentioned to me that he has a twin!" Mommy answered, then sat down on the sofa.We are at home now because, after Tito Adler's statement appeared on the news, Mommy called us to come home. I thought they wouldn't be able to watch it right away because they were busy with their work, but I was surprised when they watched it right away."He looks like Dad. I suddenly miss Daddy," Allison said with a sad voice.I remembered the night Uncle Adler appeared to me, and I was also very devastated because I thought it was Dad in front, but it wasn't. I understand Allison's feelings because I have felt the same."So what's your plan, Mom? Don't tell me we're not going to help him, huh?" asked Stella.I looked up at Mommy because I was interested in her answer to Stella's question. I

I don't know how many minutes passed until Mommy finally calmed down, but there was still a trace of anger in her eyes. "I-I just want to help the baby, but that doesn't mean I'm going back to Stefan," I explained to them. Even Stella did not want to agree to me adopting Elias because she said it was not my obligation. Another thing is that they really hate Stefan, even though I told them that I forgave him a long time ago. "How can you be so sure about that? I'm sure that man will use you again!" Stella said, annoyed. "It looks like you're planning to fool around for the rest of your life, Eliana. Hey! I don't know if I should be the one to say it. You're at the right age, so it's up to you!" Mommy kept preaching to me. I sighed again because I couldn't understand why they were thinking of me getting back together with Stefan, even though it never crossed my mind. "I just want to help the baby, but I have no intention of getting back together with Stefan. I don't have any feeli

After I got Yasmin back to her room, I let her rest. Stefan was still there, and Elias was asleep in the little crib. "Thank you, Doc. How is she?" Stefan asked me. Yasmin fell asleep immediately because her body gets tired quickly. Stefan, on the other hand, stopped what he was doing to come to me and say thank you. "She was fine, and we have already talked. She just mentioned something to me earlier," I answered, then shrugged my shoulders. I could see the slight surprise in his eyes, as if he already knew what it was about. "A-About what?" he stuttered. I avoided looking at him, and I looked at Yasmin, who was sleeping on her bed, as if she were very tired. "She doesn't want to have the surgery," I answered.I feel so sorry for her, because even if I don't agree with what she wants, I can't do anything else. "Yes, she already told me about that. I don't agree to what she wants even though her funds for her treatment have been used up," Stefan explained, causing me to turn t

I saw that the sun was about to set, and I was glad to witness it now because it was almost night when I left the hospital. It's a good thing that Yasmin asked for this, so I was able to watch the sunset with her. "How's your feeling?" I asked Yasmin. We are now behind the hospital, where there are many trees and a large oval field. This is the place I chose for my hospital so that I could give the patients a big space. The air is fresh there, and I sometimes go here when I want to be alone. There are also other patients there who are being taken around by their nurses. "As of now, I feel fine and feel no pain," Yasmin answered me. I gave her the vegetable salad that Josiah gave me earlier because I couldn't eat it anymore. I only drink iced coffee now. Yasmin was looking at the big oval field while sitting in her wheelchair, so I sat on a bench right next to her. "Your surgery is coming soon. Are you ready?" I asked her. I looked at Yasmin, and I saw a lot of changes in her ph

I didn't last long in the nursery room either, and Stefan and I were able to talk there, so when we finished, I went back to my work. "You see?" Josiah asked me when we met again.I took a deep breath and then nodded in response to him. He smiled slightly at me, then lightly patted my shoulder. "I feel good about the baby, Jos. When I saw and touched him earlier, it was like I was being with Margaret again," I told him, and then I couldn't help but smile. I saw Josiah immediately shake his head while looking at me, so I slightly raised an eyebrow at him. "How many times do I have to tell you, Eli? Separate your personal feelings in situations like this so you don't get hurt in the end," he said to remind me again. I held my breath and tried to smile at him before speaking. "I know, Jos. I just felt something strange about the baby," I answered him. I know that my weakness is children because I lost my own child. I just sometimes think that Yasmin is very lucky because, even tho

I went straight to Lance's room and found him awake. He was talking with Criza, his sister. They looked at me at the same time when I entered, so I smiled. "Doc, Eli." Criza greeted me. I smiled at Criza and couldn't help but remember what I discovered about what happened to her. I turned to Criza to have a kiss with her, then I looked at Lance, who was just looking at me silently. "I'll leave you two here for now. I'm just going to buy something outside," Criza said to say goodbye. I nodded to her, and I watched her until she got out of Lance's hospital room. When Criza finally left, I turned to Lance again. He smirked as if he was going to start teasing me again, so I immediately came to him and lightly slapped his arm. "Ouch! Eliana! Did you really come here to hurt me?" he asked, then laughed slightly. "Yeah, because you're annoying! Why did you catch the bullet meant for me? You don't have nine lives," I complained to him. He laughed, so I glared at him. "Stop laughing. T
